Eyes Hurt When Looking Into Another

Why do my eyes hurt when I look around?

The cool weather could have played a part in this if you got your neck chilled a bit. Your neck muscles go to the top of your head for its movements. The nerves for your eyes go to the back of your head passing next to the neck muscles. When the muscles are tight they can press into the nerves to your eyes to cause pains on the backs of your eyes. Tight neck muscles play a big part in your allergies as well. To get rid of your pain in your eyes you have to free up your neck muscles to get the pressure off the nerves and here's how to free them up:
Neck Release:
Place your hands behind your head touching your fingers. Press into the back of your neck with them and hold the pressure on them. After 45 seconds slowly lower your head until your neck is fully extended. Release the pressure but hold your head there for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

My eyes hurt from looking at the computer screen all day?

I work on the computer all day too, and here's how I deal with it:

1. Keep other soft lights on in the room, looking at a bright monitor in a dark room will strain your eyes.
2. Place your monitor in a position below eye level, so that you don't have to open your eyes as wide to look at it. If your monitor is too high, you have to open your eyes wider which causes them to get dry more quickly.
3. Look away from the computer sometimes to focus on distant objects
4. Take breaks and get away from the computer for a while, see sunlight
5. Get enough sleep

-You could wear sunglasses. You could use eye drops. You could see an eye doctor to determine whether you have any special needs. But those other five things should work.

HELP! My head and eyes hurt!?!?!?

You could have a migraine. I have had migraines for years and now every time I get one my eyes hurt also. Is your vision okay. Now with my migraines my vision gets really bad, everything gets blurry and can't focus at all

Eye pain when looking at close up objects?

Sometimes, when people are playing video games or watching movies (or anything they are staring at or concentrating on) they don't blink often enough and this can make your eyes dry & irritated, etc. Start with a regular eye exam, in addition to checking if you need glasses or not, they also check for various eye diseases too. If you have insurance, it often covers at least part of the cost. Headaches from reading or looking at close things often suggests farsightedness, but you really need a proper eye exam to know for sure. Looking at the phone in the dark, if that's what you're doing, won't make you need glasses but, is it kind of stressful to the eyes and could cause headaches if you are already borderline on being farsighted.

Why is it hard for me to look into someone's eyes while having a conversation?

I can tell you why I don't feel comfortable making eye contact with others while having a conversation (and pretty much in general). As a preface, I am an exceptionally assertive person. My personality is typically dominant, aggressive, and forward, and I feel fear very rarely, and certainly not in regards to other people I am holding conversations with. I have a tendency toward loudness. So I can tell you that it is not because I am shy.I have lent this a great deal of thought, particularly because observation suggests that, while it is not a new problem, not all (and perhaps not even most) of my age similar peers (early to mid 20s) appear to suffer with a deep discomfort maintaining eye contact quite like I do. And when I say deep, I mean it. I hate it! I have often tried to challenge myself to maintain eye contact for a certain length of time (usually not even long), and I can rarely do it. It's a skill I wish I had, particularly as a female who wants to be taken seriously and in fact respected in business and politics. To me, it's intolerable---like staring at the sun. Why?!I am loud, aggressive, dominant, yes. But also I am inherently a very private person. Whenever someone is staring directly into my eyeballs I get the weirdest of feelings that that person can see straight inside me and peer into my core. I feel like they can see all my thoughts, secrets, fears, weaknesses, hopes. Overall, I feel the most disgusting vulnerability (not the happy kind I feel with someone I love and know would never hurt me--like I feel with my mom or felt with my ex boyfriend). I can't take the feeling for more than a second or two, and so I break the eye contact and look away. It took me a long time to properly identify and describe the source of my eye contact discomfort but there it is. A la the cliche that claims eyes are windows to the soul and whatnot. Maybe it's true?

I went snowboarding and my eyes are sore when I look around?

Yesterday I went snowboarding for 4 hours I was really focused on where I was going concentrating on the snow constantly. I was super tired and slept for 10 hours and still felt tired like I could sleep another 10 hours. After I got up my eyes hurt to look around the only time I don't have pain is when i'm looking straight or my eyes are closed. Anybody have any idea of why my eyes feel sore or bruised?
