My iPhone's Facebook app icon and a few other app icons have turned dark and show 'waiting.' These apps are also not opening. What is a solution?
I just fixed mine in 2 mins. It is about updates. Here is 3 steps I did. I have an iphone 5 and iOS 7.1.1 (check @ settings/general/about). 1. check which app icon(s) turned in grey. ( It is not really critical tho. For example: my greyed app icons are google drive/One drive/Uber/ skype/ twitter/ google chrome/ electric company (kid's app)).2. Go "App Store App" and click on "updates" find any one of your greyed icon App. ( I found none of my greyed-icon Apps are shown at the first pop out screen which listed Available Updates icons. So, I clicked the "PURCHASED" and found more App icons including those greyed-icons. At those right side, those Apps all have a cloud sign with a point-down arrow. )3. Click on the cloud sign at the right side and download it. Once downloaded, the cloud sign will turn to be a rectangle sign "OPEN", done! (message shown : "The current version requires iOS.8.0,but you can download the last compatible version.")Note: The back-to-normal icons will show up individually. Not sorted in the category group box before updated. Just need an extra step to drag it around as desired.Hope it helps! Sometimes professional techies think too much......

Finally I discovered how to do it easily. I hope this help you guys and save you time:First: Go to About Section. In this part you will see a map, but you wont be able to modify it. Would Facebook adding location/check-in to their iPhone app spell doom for Foursquare/Gowalla?
There are different emotional drivers for using a check-in service and a social utility like Facebook. FB is about the "platform" and their smartphone apps have a rich set of use cases around that focus as a social platform. As a platform they will never have the game mechanics that really drive engagement with the location based check-in services. I would actually argue that FB launching a location check-in feature would help the Foursquares and Gowallas because it will increase awareness of these services - but won't provide as compelling of an experience as users will find on the focussed apps. Just IMHO...

My iPhone safari won't work when I go to facebook but my Facebook app works?
When I go to safari and go to Facebook.com it doesn't load at all. But my facebook app does.. I was recently out of town and accidentally used the hotels wifi and when I got home I signed into my wifi and now it has this PattleLock picture on top of the safari page?? I don't know if using the hotels wifi messed up my phone or not...

Whenever I try to log into Facebook from my new iPhone 8 plus I get a message in the picture I uploaded.?
I got a new phone and when I try to log into facebook on the app from my iPhone 8plus it comes up and says "The application you're trying to use is either no longer available or access is restricted." But I can log into facebook on the safari and on all other devices and everyone else can log into the facebook app on my phone. I just can't access my facebook profile on my phone. It makes no sense I really need help. I went to the store got a new phone and still does the same thing. My brother has the same phone as me and has no problem. Please help
