Fake town name and city name for book?

Since this town is a bit isolated from the smaller city you could translate words like solitude or isolation into French, Spanish, Latin, etc and name them like that. Look at the tv show desperate house wives (I know...) the small street all that action takes place in is called Wisteria Lane, which is a play on word for mystery, hysteria, etc. Also connecting two random names together or some other medium might be able to help out here. Various links to name generators could be useful as well.

I need a FAKE town name for my book!!!!?

Hiya, so, i am writing a book...about...vikings. It's a novel, and i need some town names! ;) Something like a very strong feeling town, i dont know, like Berk (from How To Train Your Dragon), i know, i am kind of stealing your precious ideas, but i won't EXACTLY copy off it...i will change it a bit, making a bit fun. :) Thank you~ Please suggest by tomorrow or earliest by today. ;)

What would be a good town name for my book?

Yes, I am writing a book. But I can't think of a town name. And no, my book can not go without one. I need it! It can be made up or real. If this helps, the street my character's live on is Lafayette Boulevard. If you would like you can come up with something that kind of goes along with their street's name. Be creative. Oh, yeah one more thing, I will need your permission to use this in my book if I pick you as best answer. So be sure to say "You have my permission to use this in your book."
All answers are appreciated! Thanks to everyone!

Can I create a fake town for my book?

Of course you can make up a town! Authors do it all the time!

The beneftis of it is that you get to decide everything that goes on within the town, including the town history, "famous" landmarks, the kinds of people that live there, the various attractions of the town (theatres, museums, amusement parks, etc.). Really, I guess the only limitations are that you'd have to make the town consistent within the story (if the town is really run down and its inhabitants are living in destitution, it wouldn't make sense for your characters to drive around in shiny new cars).

The other restriction is that you need to make it realistic to you story. Have the town make sense to its location (for example, if its in the tundra, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to say it had temperatures like that of a desert in midday...). Also, you need to make it realistic to the time period (for example, if its set in the 1940s, mention some of the men in the town going off to the war or have the characters use WWII era technology)

Hope this helps!

How would you feel if you published a book under a fake name, the book became a success and no one knew that you wrote it? What would you do?

I write under three names. I write some fiction under Rosina Lippi, historical fiction under Sara Donati, and academic non-fiction under my full legal name, Rosina Lippi Green. To start with I didn't intend to use a pen name, but my first and second novels sold within a couple months of each other to different publishers. The novels were so different in tone and approach that I was asked to pick a pen name for the planned series of historical adventures, and I had no real objection, so I came up with one, and that would be Sara Donati. I have three novels as Rosina Lippi, and of those three, one of them is my personal favorite. And it's not Homestead. Most of my writing income comes from the Sara Donati books, all of which are still in print and have been translated widely and sell very well both in unabridged audio format and ebook format. These are big novels averaging about 270,000 words. There are six in the first series and I'm writing the first novel in the second related series. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a pen name, because it's just complicated. I don't care about recognition, in fact, as an introvert I don't much like that end of things. So my advice would be, think about it hard. If your novels take off you're going to get the question I have heard at least a zillion times: why do you write under a pen name?
