Why do people like Fall Out Boy?
This is an interesting question because if applied to any different band/musician, a somewhat different answer will appear.There is broad answers which just that they are good in an objective sense, because while there is a lot of personal views on music there is an agreed upon view of a “good band”.However, there is also the more “relative to a specific group” answer. Fall Out Boy is able to be catchy and appear simple and kind of like Pop music.There is more to them as well though because their songs relate to the misfits and outcasts, or in other terms; “All boys who the dance floor didn’t love, and all the girls whose lips couldn’t move fast enough”.This combination allows the causal listener to enjoy the songs, but it also draws in the ones who build a community based off of Fall Out Boy’s music.

they were at one of their first concerts and they didnt have a name so they asked the audience for suggestions and someone yelled fall out boy and the name stuck. they were unaware of it at the time but fall out boy is actually radioactive mans sidekick on the show the simpsons. :)

Michael Jackson vs. Fall Out Boy?
I reeaally dislike the cover. For one, MJ's version has SUCH an amazing beat, you know when it's the first time you hear a great song like beat it, and your listening to it and the beat is SO amaziing, and once it gets out of your head you have to go listen because you need it back in your head? thats what happened when i first ever heard beat it (MJ's version). Michael obviously worked to make an amazing beat with also a good sound to the lyrics, now, I guess FOB is good becausewell, there famous, i'm not really into them though. And I also REALLY don't like this cover of beat it! why? they took how Michaels insanely amazing beat, replaced it with guitars and then just sang the song in the same way they do all there songs. it;s like they said "Okay change to guitar and lets just sing the lyrics" they totally drained the song, and personally it annoys me when people cover songs that are absolutley amazing, you know so amazing that no one would be able to make a succesful cover because you just CAN"T deny the original, and also when people hear the cover on the radio or something they get mad (like myself) because i would x10000000 rather hear the original. But FOB did tribute Michael a lot in the video, according to them. Notice how pratically every person has a white glove on and such etc. etc. They say it's a tribute but seriously why don't they just cover songs for fun in there basement and do there own thing when it comes to music/videos. kudos to FOB for being good people, but didn't dig how they detroyed the original in there cover song at all... ♥ MJ Now the 'Beat It' beat is stuck in my head...not entirely a bad thing though...;)
Do Fall Out Boy swear at their concerts?
I'd imagine it's likely. Are you really worried it will be awkward for your dad, or for you? Your dad is a grown man and has assuredly heard plenty of curse words in his day. Give him a little credit for understanding that different rules apply in different situations. He's willing to go with you so that already speaks well for his attitude. If you are worried about it being awkward between you at the show, have a chat with him about it beforehand. Assure him that you don't necessarily approve of bad language that the band might use but you think both of you are able to handle hearing it. I've been on both sides of this equation and it is really not worth stressing about for either of you.
