The international space station is currently traveling at around 26,000 feet per second, and needs an occasional boost to keep from falling to earth, So go to the ISS, fire your bullet, bring it to a velocity of about 29,000 feet per second if you've aimed carefully enough along the trajectory of ISS, and it will move out into an orbit several hundred feet above the orbit of ISS, until gravity drags it back. How long? Well, do it first, and then I’ll give you the formula.
