Where should I start with fantasy football?
Sign up for a league on ESPN or Yahoo fantasy football page. You will be the league manager. You then make choices as to which kind of league you will have. Once decided, invite your friends to join your league. The number of players is decided when you set up the league. After your friends join the league, set a draft day. Do some mock drafts on the site to get a feel for how a draft works. If you just want to play in a league, ESPN or Yahoo has leagues you can join….This is probably one of the best answers.Disclaimer: While I do enjoy playing fantasy I mostly don’t know anything about the actual sport or the teams. I go full on Money Ball just making my picks based on the stats and win from players who use their ‘gut’ fairly solidly. If you haven’t seen it already playing with something like this is pretty solid DFS Lineup Optimizer for DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy SportsThat’s not to say everyone likes it though. I mostly play with strangers for prize pools but I have a smaller league with friends mostly just for fun and they complain about my strategy because they think it takes the fun out of it.
How can I start a Fantasy Football?
Starting your own fantasy football league is not easy since money isn't involved. Meaning if you have a league where everyone joins at the starting then they wont be active for the hole season. So take it from a guy who had his own league in football, baseball, hockey, & basketball creat a league where money is involved or no one will be active. (exp. 10 team league only 4 or 5 teams active and so on don't creat a league with out money.

It is the % of people in all of the Yahoo Fantasy Leagues who have that player started. They also have the % of people who picked up that player. Its somewhat useful to look at.
Fantasy Football Error 174 (next week start)?
I understand what the error is for (can't change a player who is already active) I was just wondering if anyone knew at what point a player who is active can be dropped. (What time does the next week start? is it right after monday night football or is it at midnight on sunday and if so, midnight EST or PST?)
At what age can a kid start playing fantasy football?
My two assumptions going in are: 1) That they're playing for free, not for money. I'd be uncomfortable letting a kid do something that got too close to actual gambling. 2) That we're talking about a kid playing in a league with other peers their age, not a kid in an adult league or online strangers. With those two assumptions in place, I don't think there's a set minimum age, as long as the kid has a) the maturity to place the competition in its proper perspective (i.e. don't sulk too much about a loss, aren't going to end a friendship based on a bad trade, don't forget to do homework because they're so absorbed reading football news, etc.) and b) enough knowledge of how football works so they get more out of the game than just looking at who had the biggest number last week/year and using that guy -- that they'd understand matchups, follow injuries, etc. I think if the interest in the sport is there, fantasy sports can be a good thing. It's a small-scale lab for analysis and critical thinking. It makes that leap from doing something based solely on what you know (last year's stats), to taking action based on analysis and educated prediction. There's research involved, even if it's football magazines and ESPN.com. If there's an auction draft or other fake salary system, there's some economics and budget management involved. Those aren't bad skills to nurture, and they're being developed in the context of something that interests them. So what age is that? I suppose the proper answer is "it depends". Fantasy football didn't exist at that point, but my friends and I were playing games like Statis-Pro Football or Paydirt as early as 10 or 12... if fantasy football had existed at that point, I'm sure we would've tried it, and I don't think any great harm would've come from it. Then again, my middle child is 13, and aside from not being a football fan, I don't think he'd "get" a fantasy sport yet.
