Fantasy Lineup For Play Offs

How would the winner be decided in the playoffs for fantasy football if the game ended in a tie?

Just like in the NFL playoffs (they'll play as many OT periods they need to settle the score), TIES are not allowed in the fantasy playoffs.

To answer your question... it really depends on what league you're in. Most leagues will have these sticky details defined even before your fantasy draft is conducted, as it would be extremely difficult to make such a rule after a TIE occurs!

Here are a couple of different tie-breaker systems from two popular online games...

YAHOO! FANTASY FOOTBALL PLUS breaks it down like this:

In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock will be broken using the following system:

Most touchdowns scored by entire starting roster. *
Most fantasy points by starting quarterback(s).
Most fantasy points by starting defensive team(s).
Most fantasy points by starting defensive player(s).
Most fantasy points by starting defensive back(s).
Most fantasy points by starting defensive linemen.
Most fantasy points by starting wide receiver(s).
Most fantasy points by starting running back(s).
Most fantasy points by starting tight end(s).
Most fantasy points by starting kicker(s).

*All touchdowns scored by the team (passing, rushing, receiving and defensive) will be counted in the playoff tiebreaker.

CBS SPORTSLINE – STANDARD SCORING FANTASY FOOTBALL makes it clear:

During the playoffs, there are no ties. The team with the highest number of points scored by its 'reserve' (bench) players in that playoff game will be the winner. If this doesn't break the tie, then the team with the higher playoff seed gets the Win.

Either way, if you're playing in a league, your league's commissioner should already have the playoff tie-breaker defined in its Rules & Regulations, or the League Constitution.

I hope your league didn’t experience a tie in the playoffs without a rule set in place.

Can i change my lineup after the first week of playoffs or does it stay locked?

I'm in a standard espn fantasy football league with my friends and was wondering if my lineup is locked for both weeks of the first round or if i can change it after the first week. The playoff format is week 14-15, round 1. weeks 16-17 round two.

How do you make a bye week for playoffs in fantasy football?

I'm a commissioner this year for the first time in yahoo fantasy football and i dunno how to make it so that the top 2 teams get a bye week the first week of playoffs....can someone tell me how to change that? thanks

Does ESPN have a fantasy league for the NFL playoffs?

You can't really have a fantasy league for the playoffs. Since the playoffs are only 12 teams max (with the actual playoffs being only 10 teams), there simply aren't enough players who get regular time to facilitate a fantasy football league.

How do u clinch a playoff spot in my fantasy football league?

To prove a mathematical clinching you take your worst case scenario and the #5 player's best case scenario. If you lost your last 3 games you would be 8-6. If he won his last 3 games he would be 9-5. Once it is true that even if you lost out and all the wrong teams won out you would still be in at least 4th place then you have clinched.

Really though that isnt much more than an academic exercise. You are in a good position and if you have the kind of team that puts up massive points then you will keep winning and make the playoffs.

What happens with the Fantasy Football Yahoo Playoffs if you tie in the first round? What is the tie breaker?

First playoff tiebreak is total touchdowns (active)
Second tiebreak is active QB points

Good Luck, it actually could go either way with Holt, Hope the bears get a big lead, and the rams have to throw alot and 80 yds should'n't be too difficult.
Quickly got it for you:

Fantasy Baseball: Locking Rosters for Playoffs?

I've never been a fan of it.

Players get injured, sometimes to the tune of decimating your roster. Pitchers with serious innings under their belt wear down, or in some cases get spared heavy innings in anticipation of the postseason.

I don't see any advantage to doing it. It's not testing your skill as a manager, but leaving more to fortune's whim.

If he said it, and it was agreed to - your're stuck. If he seems to be the only one that remembers it, it may be time to have a league "chat."

Does your Fantasy football strategy change during the playoffs?

Yes. I try to sign players off the waiver wire who may be productive at the end of the season. I pick them up even if I don't need them. I do so to prevent anyone else from having them. I spend more time researching my current roster. I look to see who hot and who has favorable match-ups in games. I talk up the playoffs and a championship. I want the other players to really think of the magnitude of the playoffs. I want them to have second thoughts. To question roster moves. I try to get players playing in other match-ups like the consolation bracket to play. Their participation also can take players off the waiver wire an opponent may choose.

What does playoff reseeding mean in fantasy football?

Seeding in a tournament means that your schedule is determined by some sort of quantifier. For example, wins and losses. Usually this means that the team with the best performance will be placed against the team with the worst performance, as a sort of a reward for being good. Let’s say you have an 8 team playoff, It would be seeded as follows:1st vs 8th2nd vs 7th3rd vs 6th4th vs 5thBased on the records at the end of the regular season.A static bracket would take this and build out the second round as follows:Winner of game 1 vs Winner of game 2Winner of game 3 vs Winner of game 4The obvious downside here is that if the favorites win in the first round, you’ll have a 1 vs 2 matchup in the second round, which is kind of an obnoxious let down. (See NHL, those lazy pricks use this system and it’s awful). In a reseeded bracket tournament, the second round is reseeded based on the regular season records of the winners of the previous games. For example, let’s say all the favorites win the first round. You’d have:1st vs 4th2nd vs 3rdIn this case there’s still incentive to coming into first place and the most excitement awaits in the championships instead of the middle rounds.
