Fedora disk cleanup tool

How do you check hard disk performance on Linux?

One way to do it is through GNOME Disks.Boot into the Live CD of a distribution such as Ubuntu GNOME or Fedora 24 (basically, something with GNOME on it). Why? If you want to do the write portion of the benchmark, the drive (or its partitions) can’t be mounted or in use. You can skip this step if you don’t care to do the write benchmark or if the drive in question isn’t your main OS drive.Open Disks.Select the drive in question.Click the menu in the top-right corner of the window, then select “Benchmark Disk…”Click “Start Benchmark…”Configure number of samples, sample size, etc. to your liking, and click “Start Benchmarking…”Note: Although the benchmark does write data to the disk, the tooltip for the “Perform write-benchmark” box explains that data won’t (in theory) be changed. For safety’s sake, the program recommends making a backup beforehand in case something should go awry. I’ll let you make the judgment call on that one.

Which low-level formatting tool is best for Windows, Mac or Linux (Ubuntu)?

Most current disks do not allow for low level formatting. This requires the ability to do a bad block scan to identify flocks that are bad, the ability to allocate/assign replacement blocks… Even in the past, carrying out a low level format on 2GB disks would take several hours… any glitch during that time would destroy the formatting, and you have to start over.Formatting a 1 or 2 TB disk would take many days…

What are the best PDF annotation tools in Ubuntu Linux?

I had been looking for a pdf annotation tool in Linux for a long time, here are my needs:highlight textinsert text commentdraw rectangle around textdraw oval around textcompatible with Adobe Acrobat, I mean, its annotations can be deleted or modified by Adobe Acrobat and vice versa.with search capacityfast response for large pdf document with up to a thousand pagesbetter has Windows version though not very importantI had tried Evince, Xournal, Okular, Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader, until I found Qoppa Software and PDF Studio (Qoppa Software) which completely meets my needs. Both old version of Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader run in wine, and I think you will not be satified with them. Here I compare the other four pdf software.Evince: a perfect pdf viewer but without annotation capacityXournal: treat each page as an image, so you are drawing on an image, and it doesn’t support search and is not compitable with Adobe AcrobatOkular: perhaps the best free pdf annotation tool in Linux, it supports 9 ways to annotate, limited but enough, one major flaw is that once you made an annotation, you cannot adjust its position or size any more.PDF Studio: a tool comparable with Adobe Acrobat, written in Java, cross platform, so you can use it under Linux, Windows and Mac.You can see the comparison between PDF Studio and Adobe Acrobat at Compare PDF Studio with Acrobat and other PDF annotating software. PDF Studio is commercial software  and have a free trial PDF Studio Free Download.

My laptop is running on low disk space but I only have system files on the C:drive. How do I fix this problem?

How much free space does it have and what size drive is it? Does it have another Partition? You could buy a larger disk and clone your system on to it. In My Computer, click the Tools menu then on Folder Options then click the View tab and tick "Show hidden files and folders" then untick "Hide protected system files and folders", click Apply and OK. Then, go into c:\ windows and delete all the files in blue which start with a $ symbol. They are only folders that once contained Windows Updates you no longer need to keep. Then scroll down to the Software Distribution folder and to Download. Empty that folder.Look in Control Panel>Power options and make sure Hibernation is turned off then in System, adjust the size of System Restore so it takes up only 4% of the disk space.Restart the computer and see how much space you freed up.You can also download Cleanup tool - You can use disk cleanup tool - CleanGenius  or  CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download to remove unnecessary programs or rubbish that eat up your disk space, which definitely could free up centain amount of disk space.Or You Extend your partition. To extend partition with free partition manager software to resize partition is the easy and efficient way. You can extend your partition as you wish and not need to worry about data loss.

Last, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.
