Feel Bad Working Hard

I feel bad at a sight of old people working hard. Am I emotional?

I think you are a sensitive person only, however you should know better how the mind and body work. Our emotions root in our body, more specifically, in pleasure/displeasure principle of working all biology; I use to say, we are simultaneously observers, that animals are not, and prisoner of our body (but we are also ethical beings). For a few more details, see Abstract 4 of Life Philosophy by Joao Ferreira.

How can I make my boss feel that I am working hard but not able to show like others do?

Communication is key, make sure your manager knows what you are working, what are the challenges you faced, how you dealt with issues. Having a regular touch point with your manager where you share ideas  and talk about your work in general helps very-much.Second, network extensively, speak to people, know what is being worked upon in other teams, share what is happening in your team, speak about your contriubutions as well.Don't be disheartened, hard and smart work always pays. Cheer up! :)

Do you ever feel bad for the people working in minimum wage jobs?

I have no feelings for people working in minimum wage jobs, good or bad. It's just what it is. If it's the difference between them having minimum wage employment or no employment at all, I think everyone is better off if they have minimum wage employment. The thing I don't like is that the system is rigged so that most employers can under-compensate people for the value they add while excessively compensating CEOs and other powerful people within the organization based primarily on their position and on the value they're BELIEVED to be adding versus what they're ACTUALLY contributing.

You know something's out of whack when a CEO makes on average 200 to 400 times what their average (let alone their minimum) wage worker makes! At best you know it's not based on hard work nor solely on merit.

I feel bad that the US has allowed this to happen to itself. It's a country that should be better than that.

Why do I feel I don't work hard enough?

Never ever compare yourself with others. You never know how others got to that place, you just see the result. And that is a big mistake. Most people do not see the 18 hours a day of work, the sleepless nights of learning, the countless months spent in growing & learning. You have to know and you have to always keep reminding yourself that success is not an overnight kind of deal. It's years of working, failing, adapting, experimenting, learning, repeating that cycle over & over again. People weighing you down, pointing & laughing at your failures. But still, you just keep up doing what you're doing. Never giving up. Never even thinking of giving up.And after a couple of years, 5 years, 20 years (depends on the complexity of the goal you're willing to achieve) you start seeing the results. And boy are they worth it.Where are the doubters, the people who laughed at you, the old you that didn't believe it's possible. That's right, they are way behind you and they will stay there while you continue in the path of success with the new people you got the privilege to know during the journey.

I do not feel like working hard on anything anymore. why?

Dear Friend,You are apt in saying that you don’t want to work hard anymore. No one does actually because it drains us so much mentally. The basic question that we need to ask here isa.) What is hard work?b.) Why do we need to do hard work?Sharing below a few excerpts from a book Milestones To Success by Acharya Prashant which will help you understand this issue. It’s a deep-deep seated conditioning to say that hard work is necessary. everybody in this very existence is simply, partying, enjoying, celebrating and dancing.Man is the only one who has told himself that hard work is the key to success.Play hard, celebrate like a mad man and that is life. not hard work. when you are playing hard then hard work just happens, without your doing. ‘’I am enjoying it so much that I am giving it every ounce of energy that I have’’.Playing hard means that I am so contented that I can dance and play. Working hard means I am feeling like a beggar. It means I must work hard to attain something. There are two ways of working: one with a heart that is empty. that’s a beggar’s heart. ‘’Let me get something. I am studying for the sake of marks, salary or some pleasure.’’ The king’s way of living is ‘’I am so happy that I am meeting you. I am so full of joy that I am simply distributing to everybody.’’Fundamentally, there is nothing small about you, there is nothing missing in you. All the diseases of your life, all your unease, all your gossip, all your restlessness arise from this deep rooted conditioning that there is something wrong and missing in you. Kindly get rid of that notion. You are wonderful, perfect and beautiful as you are. with all your inadequacies, you are still very beautiful. With all the layers of conditioning that you have, you are still wonderful.I Hope friend now this whole sham of hard working would be clear to you and from now on you will play and play hard.Keep reading and do get a copy of this book from Amazon (my personal suggestion to you).

Should I feel bad that I called off of work today?

I've been working at this place for only 2 months and I called off...In that 2 months I was never late and I worked hard....but today I just needed a day off.....Is that bum-ish of me?

At my last job I was there for 2 years ( Age 16-18) and only missed 3 days. Why do I always feel so bad calling off of work?
