Fell Down Stairs And Hit My Head Should I Go Get It Checked Out

I hit my head and neck really hard when i fell down the stairs?

You should get it checked if it hurts. Anyone can get injured regardless of age, but of course some are more prone to injuries... like if you're sick to begin with, or quite fragile, etc.

My grandma fell out of her bed like a few weeks ago and broke her neck right in the same spot. Now she's recovering.

I think though, that if you hurt it you would know but it may at least be an internal bruise, either way it's always best to make sure, to get confusions out.

I fell down a flight of stairs and hit my head, and my foot is numb.?

A couple days ago, I fell down a flight of 13 stairs and landed on carpeted concrete. I hit my head on the wall at the bottom. My neck is still sore, but i figured the to be normal from falling down the stairs. The thing that is bothering me now is that ever since, my entire left foot has been numb all the way up to my calf. There is no pain, and I am able to walk just fine. I was diagnosed with sciatica a few years ago, but i have not had any issues with my back, nor my foot until now.
I am guessing it is probably a misplaced disk, or a pinched nerve.
If you have any ideas on what could be going on, I would greatly appreciate it.

I just fell down the stairs and hit my head hard.?

If the head injury resulted in a knock out, you should see your doctor. You need a head CT to rule out any acute process resulting from the fall. Concussion is viewed more seriously by the medical community than it was in the past, and better safe than sorry.

What to do if you fall down stairs and hit your head?

You should get checked out anyway by a physician; you may still have had a concussion--it's not always obvious.

It could be just strained muscles. Did you take a motrin/Ibuprofen for inflammation? Also, put some ice-packs on that knot of yours to reduce swelling. I actually have a Soldier who has a permanent knot on his head he developed as a child. Ice it, wrapped in semi-wet wash-cloth for 15 mins two times a day. Request physical-therapy; or stretches you can do on your own.

Fall down the stairs, headache, vomiting, big bump at the back of the head?

sounds like concussion, you should really get her checked out although if you really don 't want to go to the er, you can keep a close eye on her, let her sleep it off, keep her hydrated, and just check on her every couple of hours - if she gets any more groggy or won't wake up properly you have to get her to the hospital. if your in the uk i would call nhs direct on 0845 46 47 they will help you

I fell down the stairs, should I go to the doctors?

About 20 minutes ago I fell down the stairs. I think I fell around the 6th step from the floor, first I skidded now, then hit my back and then the top left side of my head. After that everything went numb for a second and then the pain came. Now My back doesn't hurt or anything, but my head does. My head is hurting on the right side just a little bit above my ear, which I don't get why cuz I hit my head on the left. The pain isn't sharp, it comes and goes but overall my head just feels heavy.

I hit my head falling down the stairs, should I be worried?

I was coming down the stairs with wet shoes and I slipped going down the stairs. I cracked my head pretty good, I heard it in my head but my boyfriend who was standing there said he didn't hear it. Its sore, and so is my pride, but other than that I don't have any symptoms. He won't let me go to sleep, is there anything else I should look for? Also, this is going to sound funny but my head feels like there is a dent in it, perhaps just feels like that because the other areas are swelling?

When should one visit a doctor after falling down the stairs?

Did you lose consciousness? If yes, go to the ER.Are you on blood thinners? And if yes, did you hit your head? If yes, go to the ER. If yes to only the first, you could probably start with your primary care doctor if you’re having significant bruising, or if you start developing incontinence issues or numbness/tingling in your legs. When you fell, did you experience a loss of control of your bowel/bladder, numbness/tingling in your legs? If yes, go to the ER.If you’re having ongoing pain after about a week that isn’t being reasonably managed by things like ice/heat and over the counter anti-inlammatory medications— and I mean that you’re able to carry out most of your daily activities, able to get around and do most of what you need to do, even if you’re still sore and in a bit of pain — see your primary care doctor. It takes a pulled muscle about a week to start feeling better, but should be completely resolved in 4 - 6 weeks. You might not be pain free for a little while, but if it is getting in the way of being able to do what you need to do, you might need to see a doctor about it.
