Fill A Table Cell In Word With An Image

When I copy a small table from Excel and paste it into Gmail while composing an email, why do I lose the table format?

If you are using the Chrome browser, you will lose your table format. You have two options to try: 1. use another browser, like Internet Exploreror Firefox. 2. copy the spreadsheet first to Microsoft Word. Make sure it looks right in Word. Then make sure your Gmail is using rich text format. You do thatby checking the formatting bar at the bottom of the message window where you are typing your email. On the right side of the bar, the words "Plain text"will be shown if it is plain text. If it is rich text, the area on the right side of the bar will be blank. Finally, copy the spreadsheet from Word to Gmail. The formatting should be maintained in Gmail. Here is a link to a Google forum where this is discussed:https://productforums.google.com...Good luck!

What is the best way to embed Excel data into Word?

In the latest version of Microsoft Office for Windows, if you copy/paste a table from Excel into Word, it automatically breaks the link and translates the data into Word's proprietary table format...thus losing a lot of abilities that Excel has.If you would prefer the OLD format of "OLE Embedding," you can still do that, though it's not really recommended. Instead of clicking paste, click the arrow under paste on the ribbon (toolbar). Choose "paste special," and then choose "Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object."Other than that, you can also choose different paste style formatting options by hovering over the mini-bar (the little icon that appears after you paste something) to choose different styling choices.

How do I paste the group of cells(or a single table) in a single cell in Microsoft Excel?

Firstly, to the best of my knowledge you cannot paste them as values or references within a single cell. However it can be pasted as image Copy your tableOpen up a blank PowerPoint and paste special as image. Right click and save picture onto desktopNow go to the cell, insert image and format your cell boundaries to align with image (images are always "float over" in excel) If you could tell me the exact requirement , will be helpful!

How can I rotate a table 90 degrees in microsoft word?

Ha! Great question; I just learnt something myself by fiddling around. Let me show you a trick!

You've been told to create a new document in landscape to allow for more room etc... but that doesn't answer your question.

You can rotate the text in the table - no problem. Just select the table and go to the Format menu --> Text direction. But that still doesn't answer your question.

If you have Excel, then there is a solution:

- Copy your entire table and just paste it into Excel.
- Select your table IN EXCEL and copy it. There is a good reason for copying it again, but in Excel.
- Go to a different sheet (or scroll down further so that you have a clean space) and select a cell (like A1)
- Go to the Edit menu --> Paste Special and click on the box beside "Transpose" and press OK.
- VOILA! Your entire table has been turned 90 degrees!
- Copy the whole thing and paste it back into Word.

You may have to fix up some colours/formatting, but at least you don't have to go to the effort of recreating/typing that entire table.

Thanks for asking this question - I had no idea you could do that.

The image you have linked depicts two (2) cells with a standard border between them.
The quick and easy thing to do would be enter a pipe | and center-align it, maybe bump the font up on that cell to make it fill in.
You can also use WordArt to manually draw a line.

How can I fit a picture in a cell in Microsoft Excel?

Images in Excel are on a separate layer and float above the cells.  However, there may be some tricks that could approximate what you need.1. Insert > Picture2. Size the cell so that the picture fits completely within it.3. Right click on the picture and select Format Picture.4. Select Properties and click on Move and Size with Cells. At this point, you can resize the colum or row, insert columns or rows or filter data and the picture stays in the cell.  However, it's still possible to click on the picture and drag it out of the cell. To keep the picture from moving, you could try locking the picture cells and protecting the worksheet.Make a back up of your file before you do this in case you have problems with the password part.1.  Select *all* the cells.2. Right click and select Format Cells.3. Under Protection tab, uncheck Locked.  (Locked is the default so you need to actively unlock the other cells.)4. Select the cells with the pictures.5. Right click and select Format Cells.6. Under Protection tab, check Locked.7. Under Review menu, click on Protect Sheet.  (This is for Excel 2010, it might be different on other versions.)8. Set a password, uncheck Select locked cells, check any other editing activities in the list that are appropriate. Now  you won't be able to drag the picture from the cell.  To edit the picture cells, click on Unprotect Sheet and enter the password.

How do I copy data into merged cells in Microsoft Excel?

This is peculiar. Actually copying cells into merged cells worked in one particular case. I tried this:Un-merged data in THREE COLUMNS (not more, not less).Three merged cells and each merged cell is formed by joining FOUR CELLS.Now, copy the THREE-COLUMNED data and while pasting on the merged cells area, right click, and from the context menu, choose Paste Special -> Formulas… voila!I couldn’t figure out why it works only in this combination and doesn’t work in others. Will update if I find out why.CheersSujeevan.
