Canadian Securities Course?

Those are great questions!

The Canadian Securities Course is designed as an entry level course that introduces students to the Canadian financial industry. There are no prerequisites for taking the course and many students who come to CSI do not have a finance background. The level of difficulty, in my view, extends no higher than topics that might be covered in an introductory economics class or accounting class.

That being said, CSI recommends study time between 135 and 200 hours to complete the course depending on your background, study habits, etc.

One cool idea that CSI recently introduced is the CSC Audio Book. You can now download the text to an MP3 player or a computer and listen to the course while on the go. Should really help those who have busy schedules and are pressed for time. You can read more about the new Audio Book here:

https://www.csi.ca/student/en_ca/courses/csi/csc-audio.xhtml

Lastly, in case you're wondering, my background was psychology when I took the CSC. I studied hard and used sound studying methods and scored an honours grade when all was said and done.

Good luck!
