Finding A Case For My Custom Pc

Custom PC build shopping list Help?

Up the PSU to 550 watts. Also, add a cpu cooler. Just find out how many fans the case has. 2-3 fans are fine, 4 are great.
As for compatibility, just go to the site(given in source), click on 'system build' and enter the parts. Any compatibility issue will immediately show up. Happy gaming!

Do I need a case if I'm building a computer?

Besides all the good and negative reasons people already gave here, let me give my 2 cents:Why you want to build a computer without a case? What will be your main use for your computer?Short answer: You can. But should you?Example: I had for several months a computer working 24h/7 with no case, all the stuff was just in a small support table near my desk. The reason was, I was having problems with hardware and I need to find out what was wrong. I do have my computer space in a very private room with no children or people hanging around that could damage it, so I was safe.Who uses computers with no cases? People on youtube that do tests and benchmarking, overclocking and so on. Even those use normally a test bench. That way everything is easy access and its fixed.Reasons for not using a computer with no case (in particular if you going to game or use overclocking:Dust, it gets everywhere no matter how clean your environment is. Dust covers the electronic parts and generates more heat and reducing the life span of the chips and other components of your hardware.Cooling, unless you going to use a water cooling system, you need air to cool it down. Also remember even in a case the air in it, is at the temperature of your room and gets even hotter because a PC can generate about 100 degree Cº.Do yourself a favor: Even if this is your first build, why not learn to build it right? Get a case with at least 2 fans, 1 intake 1 out take. Learn to build a PC inside a case, learn where all the components will have to go.It is easy to let everything laying out with just cables passing, but trust me, a case is a must.If you want to learn more just check these guys on YouTube:JayzTwoCents - Water cooling, testing, reviews overclocking and teaching.LinusTechTips - Tech in general, talks about everything about computers, testing stuff, builds and so on, and they look like jerks but they are funny. My preference is for Jay since he is like me and do builds for over 10 years (I do longer since I am older) but he has a very simple way to explain things where he assumes you do not know nothing about even if you do.

Building a pc? Looking for some help?

Unfortunately I am a little unaware of the Computer Parts retailers in your location (I am in US and the supplier that i use only ships to the US)

However I can make this recommendation. I would definitely go for an AMD solution. You get more Bang for the Money. Either AMD or Intel 64Bit processors will support 32Bit or 64 Bit apps.

If you are gonna Skimp a little anywhere...the case would be the place to do it £50 is a little excessive there...as you will not need a power supply already in the case.

£180 ($270) Is a bit much for any AMD motherboard..Even top of the line. Good News for you as you can put that money into a Graphics Card which i Highly recommend. The GA-MA790XT-UD4P is a Great motherboard for your budget. At current exchange rates you should be able to pick one up for less than £100.

You can pair that motherboard up with a AMD Phenom II 955 (AMD's best yet) for about £165 again i am going with current exchange rates from my supplier (Newegg.com)

If you can find a 1TB drive for £50 youa re doing really good. You may find that it will cost more like £65 to get a 1TB Hard drive. Dont fret though...you will probably save more than that on the Motherbaord.

For tyhe Memory you should be able to get 8GB of DDR3 1333 RAM for about £80.

£15 Sounds about Right for a DVD Burner...

£60 sounds about right for a power supply....get the highest wattage you can for the money though.

According to my calculations...@ the prices i have listed...you can get Top of the Line AMD solution for £535 leaving £65 to go toward a video card. Something like the Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 1GB GDDR3 which runs about £60 here will do the trick. Enough power for gaming...even though you have already stated you will not be gaming (hence the reason i have not gone with a 4890, 4870X2 or one of the nVidia 200series.

To Recap in a lot Shorter terms...
AMD Phenom II 955 @ 3.2Ghz easily overclockable
GA-MA970XT-UD4P Gigabyte AM3 processor.
8GB DDR3 1333 RAM
1TB Hard Drive
Case of your choice
DVD Burner of your Choice
Power Supply of your Choice
Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 1GB GDDR2
Onboard Sound will be fine.

I want to start building my very first gaming PC (I am 14). Does every motherboard fit in every case?

Not every motherboard fits in every case but they are named so you can easily figure it out!You have several different sized cases:ITX, mATX, ATX & E-ATXITX - Very small form factor (Small case)mATX - Standard small form factorATX - Standard sized motherboardE-ATX - Extra large motherboardThe motherboards have the same naming convention, ITX motherboards will fit ITX cases, mATX motherboards will fit in everything bigger than an mATX case (so you can choose, mATX case, ATX case or a E-ATX case).ATX will fit only an ATX case or an E-ATX case.E-ATX motherboards will only fit in E-ATX cases due to their size. The choices between different sizes can depend on what you plan to do, E-ATX motherboards have the most room for expansion due to the additional PCI slots and usually more SATA and other features.ITX motherboards are usually used for a single purpose as they dont have many RAM slots, SATA slots and normally only have 1 or 2 PCI slots. The Phantom NZXT 530 is a E-ATX case so can take any motherboard (possibly not ITX - but it would look silly if you had a tiny motherboard in a huge case). The Gigabyte motherboard you are looking at is a ATX motherboard so will fit nicely in the NZXT.As for whether that is a good combo of motherboard and graphics card it would depend on your other components and what you intend to do.

'Prototype' custom resolution for PC?

Is there any way to set a custom resolution for the game 'Prototype' for PC? When the game boots up my screen goes black and tells me the resolution is unsupported (my PC is hooked up to a 42" Samsung HDTV). I've searched my entire computer for a config file for this game but couldn't find anything.

Halp.

Question about a pc case from cyberpower?

Well just because its on the picture doesnt mean it will look like that. Alot of retailers like to add things to make products look better to sell them.
Id say just google the case you want, and try to find either a youtube review of it, or maybe try finding it on somewhere like newegg in which it show more detail of the products.

There are 2 things that will light up your case.
-LED fans (the fans are clear with small leds in each corner)
-cold cathodes, which are just basically light strips that you stick to the top/bottom of your case.

There are lots of case that come with led fans, so it wouldnt be too surprising if it was already lit up. On cyberpower, you can choose the fans. Id say just spend the extra few $, and upgrade to the max fans for the case, and then choose the color of the led.
