Finger Foods For 11 Month Old

My nine month-old baby won't eat his food, what should I do?

My nine- month-old baby won't eat his food, what should I do? He has been breastfed since birth. Some supplements like baby cereal, fruit and pumpkin have been added to his meal since his seventh month. Now he seems to have lost his interest in these foods, he eats very little of them. …DO NOT PANIC. Your baby WILL NOT STARVE HIMSELF.Consult your doctor or the well-baby clinic, asking how to encourage your baby to accept the supplemental foods that it is normal for him to accept. You should understand that your baby LIKES to be breastfed and prefers the mothers’ milk. He does not want to change his diet, and this is a normal behavior.Ask the medical professional if it would be helpful to nurse the baby less than baby would like, so that his hunger will encourage him to take other foods. Also, you might ask if the introduction of supplemental foods was too rapid or too early, and if so, whether it would be helpful to start over and do this more slowly.

Anyone give their 11 month old fish sticks as finger food?

Well i think that fish-sticks are OK as long as they contain alot of preservatives, and pardon my french crap or as i like to say crap in abox,Don't worry fish are ago just as long as there not apart of a regular diet.I have kids and to feed them fish-stick once in a while but i always make sure i give them something beneficial as well to go along with like carrots and an apple or grapes and worrry to much our moms fed us everything and we all turned out OK most of us did anyway! What foods can I feed my 10 month old?

Think of it this way. If you can eat it by just mushing it with your toung and not using your teeth, or if it will desolve easily and quickly in your mouth, your baby can eat it too. (i.e. steamed vegies, mashed potatoes, vienna sausages, scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, apple sauce, fish) The list goes on. BUT, if you have to use your teeth, DO NOT give it to them.
Try to stay away from sweets. You want to start then off in life with good eating habits.

11 month old just shovels food in his mouth? Scared he's going to choke! Does he know his limits?

Is all the food chopped up in tiny dice? If yes you can try stopping that, and giving him large pieces he has to gnaw a bite off of.

You can also certainly give him his own spoon/fork -- start with low-frustration high-reward stuff that'll really glom onto the spoon: oatmeal, refried beans, yoghurt thickened with wheat germ, etc.

Is it okay to give a 10 month old canned vegetables to eat as finger foods?

So long as it's something that she can mush with her gums, it is not a problem. Rinse the item, if you feel you must, but the amount of salt is not a problem for people who do not eat fast food or tons of convenience food. A 10 month old would ordinarily fall into that category. Oh, and cut the carrot in half so that it cannot choke her (same reason you cut hot dogs in half for young kids). My cousin's daughter (now 2.5) adored peas and corn and her mom preferred not to give her other canned vegetables to chew on until much later.

Edited to add: You know, I reread your question. I personally would wait until your baby is close to a year old before giving her any finger food.
