First Job At Whataburger

Should I quit my job at whataburger?

I've been working at Whataburger for the past 8 months and am starting to think about quitting because I'm in track and the track meets are getting in the days of the week I'm scheduled to work... I'm 17 and a junior in high school. about 2 weeks ago I put in a request to not work on the weekends thru April since that's when all of my meets are (p.s. I'm the top long distance girl on the team so I can't really miss the meets very easily). I've noticed that quite a bit of days I've tried to request off in the amount of time you're suppose to request it off, I don't seem to get it... I want to try getting another job (and my parents also want me to), but I also kind of want to wait for track season to be over, but then I also do want to find another job because I pay $120 a month for rent and I need to keep my car working, legal, and all that... what should I do? and if I quit, how exactly do I do it because this is honestly my first job so I've never quit a job before...

Working at whataburger?

Usually the job interview process begins with a filled application.assuming that you have already done so, it wouldn't hurt to bring your resume. A word of advice, always dress higher than the position you apply for. Dress business casual for this interview. Google image it. They are looking for team players and good work ethic. Good luck!

I got a job as a cashier at Whataburger? :(?

im 16- this is my first job ever. and it starts tomorrow

Originally I was planning on finding another job. somewhere nicer, like walmart, walgreens,
But they don't hire ppl without experience or connections.
My brother contacted his old manager at Whataburger, and now i Have to go there..

Im extremly nervous. I dont know how work life is.. what i have to do.. and I'm not good with talking to strangers. Plus I'm not good at cleaning. I don't know how to mop floors or clean the dining area.

Please give me some advice!!!?!?!

I want to quit my first day at Whataburger?

it's hard to say, but it's better to leave than get fired or let go. Talk with your manager as they might have some other job for you.

There are all kinds of jobs you can get but most deal with money. If you start out as a bagger at a grocery store and tell them you eventually want to move up then they will train you at cashiering. You can be a hostess at a nice quiet restaurant if you can dress well and you have a little couth. Maybe work at the front desk of a hotel. Or maybe something like at a golf course, or retail, or take a life saving course (swimming) at your nearest "Y". Or babysit or pet sit. Or if you play the piano maybe you can play at weddings or funerals (my sister used to do that).

Whataburger 2nd interview?

RE:
Whataburger 2nd interview?
I have my second interview on Monday, and I have no idea what to expect?

What questions do they usually ask? Do I need to bring anything? Is it hard?

Are there any more interviews after the second one?

How many uniforms do I get a whataburger ?

One, it's up to you to wash it though.

I worked three weeks part time at Whataburger, how should I quit?

If you work at a Whataburger in Texas it's an "at will" state, meaning you are not required to give them a 2-week notice that you're leaving, and they are not obligated to give you the same courtesy or state a reason as to why they are letting you go. What you have experienced at this Whataburger is typical for any fast food outlet, everyone from the store's general manager to the part time fry cook usually has low education and are angry at the world because they have been relegated to mindless minimum-wage jobs.

My advice, for what it's worth, leave on good terms and don't burn that bridge. Even though you aren't happy working there you don't want a bad reference or a reason for them to give one. Their policies are such that they shouldn't require you to give them a 2-week notice, and even if you didn't and used them as a reference I don't believe it would be grounds for a "no re-hire" status.

Look into getting hired at a full-service restaurant like Red Lobster, Outback, Olive Garden, Chili's etc. to wait tables part time instead of fast food. The holidays are coming up and these places need all the help they can get, plus the environment is a little more pleasant there than a burger factory. These places will be flexible with your school schedule and since none of them are open 24 hours a day you won't be called in to cover for someone who didn't show up for a graveyard shift.

Good luck.

I have a job interview at Whataburger any tips on what they willl ask in the interview?

Don't BS. And don't play like you've already done everything there is to be done there. Act liek a reasonable person and make it clear that you WANT to know how to do everything. A good manager will appreciate and respond well to this kind of ambition. If you are only working part time, if you a student, or anything of the sort, just make it clear that you are there to work when you are there, and you won;t let him/her down.

Is it legal for a job offer to require your last 2 years of W2 forms?

I have encountered this in one situation: A sales position is offered, and the prospective employer wants to verify claims of past years’ performance by evaluating commissions as reported on W2’s.Recent legislation passed in California makes it unlawful for prospective employers to ask your past salary, reasoning that it perpetuates the tendency for women and minorities to receive unequal compensation for equal work; but other jurisdictions may permit it. You’ll want to look at your local laws.

Do you think working at mcdonalds is good for a first job?

I think it is an awesome first job. So many young people these days are looking for the easy way out and end up getting spoiled and never learn to appreciate hard work. I worked at Dairy Queen when I turned 16 and was making $5 something an hour. It was really hard work for not any money. I did make plenty of friends there. From now on you can work your way up, after getting some experience at McDonald's. When I was in college, my next job was as a waitress in a small restaurant where I made about $75 a night. Immediately after I graduated from college as I was looking for a real job, I got a better job as a waitress in a gourmet restaurant in a casino, where I made $200-300+ a night on the weekends. In the next year I'll be starting my "real" job, working as an air traffic controller, making over $100k a year. I'm going to appreciate this job so much more than anyone else could since I worked so hard in my past. I've WON! I would applaud you if you took a job at McD's. It will teach you responsibility and hard work. Hope this helps.
