For A Normal Makeup Look For Women What Would I Need

Will men regularly wear makeup if it was seen as normal?

I hope so.How it will become normal by the general public is anyone’s guess, but I imagine as the beauty industry expands from men’s skin care (now a booming business) the next frontier in marketing to men would naturally be cosmetics.Interestingly, even skin care is typically categorized as makeup. That may be why it’s sold in the beauty departments of retail stores. And at my local retail store, there are two male makeup artists working in the MAC department so that’s a good sign of things to come. Here are some examples of men wearing makeup. Do men like women who wear makeup?

Do men like women who wear makeup? For the most part, yes, we do. Or rather, we like it when women wear makeup. Whether or not we like who you are as a person has little to do with makeup. However, I’ve been told, then observed, that most guys don’t know we like it when women wear makeup. When a guy says we like it when girls don’t wear makeup, most of us are probably picturing this. Now, as far as I can tell, this girl has a little makeup around her eyes and lipstick. There’s probably more going on, but I’m not skilled enough to tell you what.Guys are so used to this low-key makeup, many of us think this is what no makeup looks like. We’re so accustomed to eyeliner and such that we don’t consciously realize its there. When many guys think of a girl with heavy makeup, there’s a good chance that something like this is the mental image he has. Now, if you’re into this look, she looks pretty good. Its a lot of makeup, but still well done. You also have a more classical look that’s become popular, with smokey eyes and oxblood lipstick. I’m a big fan of this look for a night out. I especially like a heavy smokey eye if the gal has very light colored eyes. The contrast is intoxicating. You can go super-dramatic too, and still look striking.Seriously, hot damn!Of course, you can go completely off the rails too.But when a guy says he likes girls who don’ wear makeup, chances are that he’s probably not picturing this.Guys are very visual. Straight guys like pretty women, adjusting pretty for local cultural norms. I presume gay men like pretty men, for manly values of pretty. Maybe rugged. I’m not honestly sure. The point is, yes, most guys, knowingly or unknowingly, like it when women wear makeup.Of course, the only reason I know all of this is that I write, and writing requires research. And when I started writing a character who is a fashionista (learned that word too), holy crap were my eyes opened. Because as much as most guys like women with makeup, we also generally know very little about it.-For more, read Murphy's Beauty Blog (aka I want to meet Gal Gadot!)

Why do women look so washed out when they don't wear makeup?

When women have no makeup, their faces look washed out. By washed out I mean bland and lacking in vital color. You're probably going to tell me that we're all so used to seeing women with makeup that it's merely an optical illusion making us think they look washed out when, in fact, they look as normal as any male who doesn't wear makeup. This is not true. I am in total control of my perceptions and know when my eyes are being fooled by an optical illusion. The washed-out look is what it is.

It is possible that wearing makeup all your life actually does something to your skin? If you're wearing the stuff all day Monday thru Friday at work and then come home and wear it all the way up until you wash it off before bed, it makes sense -- to me, at least -- that this would eventually have some effect on your skin. You don't notice it when you're wearing makeup because the makeup is hiding the damage, but when the makeup's off, you look washed out and everyone just chalks it up to "this is how women look without makeup".

So my question is WHY do women look this way without makeup? Men don't wear makeup and they don't look washed out. You're probably going to tell me that you've seen plenty of men who look washed out. Save it. You know as well as I do that women's faces look far more washed out without makeup than any man's.

Why do women look so ugly without makeup?

First off, you made a huge mistake by posting this question because not only did you make yourself sound like a complete as s hole, you offended basically the entire woman population. Guys like you are the reason women feel the need to cake their faces in make-up just so they can feel beautiful. Men always seem to only notice a girl if she has make-up on because it makes her look more appealing, so women do exactly that so we can get noticed by a certain someone or numerous people. Saying that women look ugly without make-up is just ruining self confidence for girls and making them feel like that have to do everything in their power to live up to your standards, which is something no woman should ever do. Natural beauty is something no one should ever hide. "Beauty is the in eye of the beholder." Meaning, you aren't going to find every single girl you see beautiful, so don't criticize them just because they don't meet your high standards. Every woman is beautiful in her own way. Next time, either post something less offensive and more logical or keep your unneeded opinions to yourself.

Do men really care if women wear make-up?

No, I don't agree in Make-up. Make up not only spoils your skin, it lowers you self-esteem, increasing your dependency on some stupid clown paste to look good. Why can't a woman just feel great without putting on a ton of rubbish and chemicals on her face?
A woman's natural beauty, even if she's not the most beautiful woman in the world, or has a nose bigger than Jackie Chan, as an inner beauty. Why put on makeup just because not enough men are looking? What kind of men are they looking to attract anyway? Any guy who judges a woman on looks alone isn't even worth dating.
A simple lip balm is simple enough for me. My face is clear, bright, my cheeks are rosier, people are surprised when they see me and realise i'm not wearing make up but I don't look horrible.
And I've had guys who appreciated the honesty and confidence I have in my own character, personality and intelligence rather than relying on some wax, cream and icing layer on my face to strike up an intelligent, interesting conversation!
I don't even have pierced ears. It's a choice, for me, I'd rather show the world my true face, standing up proud of myself, than hide behind a veil of pretence and beauty.
Many men marry a woman who's beautiful and realise behind that beauty, isn't at all what the beauty signified or hinted at...
Many women make the mistake of thinking to be confident (because of all those darn advertisements) and beautiful she has to put on a thick layer of foundation, curl her eyelashes 24/7 (no objections if she's doing this for a special occasion once in a while), thick coat of blood-red lipstick.
And NATURAL make up? That's an oxy moron!

A guy who cares about your make-up more than your personality and inner beauty isn't worth your time, period.

What does Jeffree Star look like on a normal day?

Seriously, what does Jeffree Star look like on a normal day? Lets say he went to the store to buy food, what would he look like? Would he have the pink hair and massive makeup and everything, or does he look like a normal guy? (but much hotter?) This has been annoying me forever, probable cause I'm a major control freak, but still.

Answers please!!!

Why do men look good without makeup and women usually look bad?

There are a couple of reasons for this. That's just what we are used to. If it was the other way around, men wearing makeup, then you would ask the same question just the other way around.Fluctuating hormones in women can make their skin break out, become oily and/or dry. So thanks a lot evolution for not cashing in on that one. Just that makes your skin look bad.Women has thinner skin than men so bloodvessles, dark under eyes are easier to see. Back in the days that was seen as attractive, fragile and feminine. Fancy royal ladies and other rich people would fill in their bloodvessles with blue ink or whatever they used back then. A glowy tan was seen as unattractive and “poor”.It just looks good. Makeup enhances femininity. Like sexy clothes or heels. Men can afford to look a bit rough, have a few wrinkles here and there, facial hair, whatever. It just makes them look more manly. Which is attractive to women but not on women. Men don't even look good with makeup unless it's very subtly done (read: invisible) otherwise it just looks too feminine.BONUS ANSWER: I actually don't even think men look better then women without makeup. I know heaps of girls that look beautiful with both. My boyfriends often ask me to not wear any makeup because they think I look more sweet and innocent while makeup makes me look more sexy and “womanly”.But it mostly I think it's because we are not used to see women without makeup so when we do, it kind of feels like “something is missing”. Which is too bad. But even im guilty of wearing makeup on most days. Main reason would be that I feel kind of naked without it. It just makes me more confident somehow. So guys, get over yourselves, you look ugly without beard and many of you just look ugly in general. Stop fixating on women's looks and making us live up to this ridiculous standard. Go and work on being good men to your women instead.

Why don't men wear makeup?

Thanks for the A2A. Let me answer your question from biological aspects of psychology and cultural aspects. There's no right or wrong answer but there are certain aspects we need to touch upon. As we already know, men and women are completely different creatures both psychologically and biologically. There are several books written on these differences and still there's a long way ahead before both these genders understand each other. One of the major differences between men and women is Men seek attractive women as their partners and women seek men who have wealth and power. However, things have changed a bit of late as men also want to look good because women also prefer to be with handsome men. In this backdrop, let's try to understand how Makeup fits into the overall scheme. So, what's the goal of Makeup. It is to make someone look beautiful, attractive and young. That's why it appeals to women a lot and over a period of time it became a feminine thing completely. If we look at history, men in ancient Egypt wore eyeliner and in the early 19th century it was believed men wore make up and women sometimes wore trousers in Germany. We also see Johnny Depp wearing eyeliner in his private life.Generally speaking women have been valued primarily for their appearance in Western societies (ie Helen of Troy, Marie Antoinette, Marilyn Monroe, etc). While this is changing, it still is largely true today. Since cosmetics enhance facial features and qualify them on their fertility, it's normal to acknowledge that makeup is a feminine thing.Make up allows a mechanism through which women can more closely align themselves with whatever cultural standards for beauty exist, raising their desirability. Men, on the other hand, have typically been valued for things other than appearance (again, with some exceptions), such as their economic status or social capital. These gendered roles have been a part of Western Society since antiquity, and explain why women have far more options and leeway when it comes to modifying their appearance. One last thing is psychologically, it seems okay for women to emulate men and not vice versa although there's no writing on the wall about this.

Why can't drag queens just apply makeup like most women?

“Can’t” isn’t the operative word here; it’s that they learn not to.If you look at the general differences in facial structure between men and women—and especially at standards of attractiveness between men and women—several things stand out.Feminine facial beauty emphasizes a smaller forehead, larger eyes, higher arching brows, round flushed cheeks, a softened jawline, a small chin, and a slimmer upturned nose. When you already have feminine facial features and you are wearing makeup for everyday presentation, you can get away with very lightly accentuating the “feminine” features and blunting or obscuring the “masculine” ones. This is what I’m guessing you’re referring to (although frankly if you’re a cisgender man you may be woefully unaware of what actually goes into a natural makeup look).Drag queens are often cisgender men and transgender women. They are more likely (but not always) possessing more masculine facial features. The androgynous or feminine ones still wear lots of makeup:This drag queen looks convincingly, naturally feminine. Still, we have:Several layers of foundation and contouring, including jaw/neck contouring to minimize and conceal an Adam’s appleGlued down, concealed, and redrawn eyebrowsFalse eyelashesOverdrawn lips, contoured with colors to suggest even more volumeLiberal use of Photoshop (or FaceTune)all designed to look soft and natural. When you have masculine features and you are wearing makeup for an exaggerated performance on a stage, it demands a totally different look. This is the same principle as light mascara and flesh-toned eyeshadow for daytime vs. gold eyeshadow for night, simply blown out to a more radical degree.“Natural” makeup, even for very feminine-looking drag queens, just doesn’t cut it. Look at photos of drag queens early vs. late in their career and you’ll see a progressive exaggeration of features that accompanies a general increase in makeup application skills. Enormous overdrawn eyes and lips realign the proportions of the face. Wiping out a face with foundation and then strategically contouring makes a face read as dramatically feminine under bright lights in a night club or gay bar.You might as well ask why women wear gowns instead of ripped jeans at galas, or why clowns use completely white face paint instead of matching their skin tone. The point is completely different and the context is different, so the techniques and presentation are different.
