For All Of You That Think The Koch Brothers Are Evil. How Do You Explain This

Who are the Koch Brothers and why are they so evil?

They started the organization "Americans For Prosperity" which is against labor unions, against minimum wage, against regulation of any kind except regulation on the workers. They are against any kind of taxes what so ever. They are against entitlement programs and all workers' rights. Is that evil enough?

Who is the villain and who is the hero George Soros or Koch Brothers? Please explain your answer?

Soros likes to profit from collapsing countries currency so I would say that makes him the villian.

I won't pick a hero from your list.

What harm have the Koch brothers done -- to people or the environment?

All of the existing answers are focused on the Koch Brothers' politics or their philanthropy.  Obviously, whether one views their political activity as helpful or harmful depends on whether you agree with their politics.  However, there are NUMEROUS examples of objective harm done by Charles and David Koch, or by their eponymous company, Koch Industries.A recent article on Daily Kos (A Must-Read Timeline and Brief History of Koch Industries) summarizes some of the areas of objective harm.1) Koch Industries was found "guilty of negligence and malice" in the wrongful death of two Texas teenagers.  The details are pretty salacious, with the plaintiff's attorney quoted as saying: "the investigation exposed a pattern of negligence and coverup."  Even "federal investigators blamed the [lethal] explosion on Koch’s failure to adequately protect the line." - CBS News2) Koch Oil (owned by the Koch Brothers) stole A LOT of oil. "Koch was engaged in systematic theft, stealing millions in Oklahoma alone." (http://libsysdigi.library.uiuc.e...)3) "In 1980, Koch Industries pleaded guilty to five felonies in federal court, including conspiracy to commit fraud." - Rolling Stone4) In 2000, Koch Industries paid "the largest civil fine ever imposed on a company under any federal  environmental law to resolve claims related to more than 300 oil spills  from its pipelines and oil facilities in six states". - EPA.gov. According to another answer on Quora (Written 28 Oct, 2014), the magnitude of oil involved was roughly 1/4 the volume of that released in the Exxon Valdez spill.5) A "Koch affiliated joint-venture...agreed to plead guilty and to pay a $28.5 million criminal fine" related to illegal price-fixing. - Justice.gov6) As recently as 2007, a foreign subsidiary of Koch Industries traded  with Iran (in spite of US sanctions preventing US companies from doing  business in the country). - Bloomberg

For those of you who don't think income inequality in America is as big of a deal as other say, why is that?

I don’t know how to explain this to people anymore. People who get it, get it. People who don’t, don’t.Income inequality isn’t a “big deal” because our economy is not a fixed size. The Koch Brothers are really rich. Every progressive knows how the “evil” Koch Brothers use money to do blah blah blah.“No one person needs $50 billion!” they cry. First, Charles Koch doesn’t open his Wells Fargo app and see $50,000,0000,000 in his checking account. His money is tied up in his business, which he and his brother privately owns. Second, Charles Koch directly and indirectly employs millions of people. He pays millions of people in over 60 countries, often directly.Koch sells asphalt, fertilizer, natural gas, plastics, petroleum, paper and pulp, etc. Who produces that stuff? Blue-collar workers in dozens of countries all over the world. When Koch Industries operates abroad in Africa and elsewhere, they give their employees far better opportunities than they’d otherwise have: good pay, healthcare, job training, stable work. They change lives. Numerous businesses operate this way. They enrich the communities they serve, employing millions around the globe. When Koch needs to transport some asphalt, who gets to work? Train companies, trucking companies, etc. When Koch needs to track its materials, who gets the work? Software companies such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, etc. When Koch needs a place for its 100,000+ employees to work, who gets a job? Construction companies, furniture suppliers, electricians, appliance makers, office supplies companies (Dunder Mifflin, anyone?), etc.As I said before, Charles Koch doesn’t wake up and see $50,000,000,000 in his checking account. That’s mostly all from his business. Progressives see the existing wealth in our economy and say: “Let’s divide it up.” It already is divided up! Everyone who works for Koch or has been impacted by Koch gets benefit from the business. Even you have been impacted by Koch, whether you like it or not. That’s why it doesn’t matter if Koch is 100,000x richer than everyone else. Because everyone else is a little richer because of him. But if you tear him down, we’ll all be a little poorer because of you.
