Ford F-150 Or Chevy Silverado Reliability

Is the Chevrolet Silverado good for reliability?

well dodge lets just say dont get into that unless you want to have something to do all the time (meaning repairs) and ford they have power but will also break quicker than a chevy. If i were you i would get a chevy your getting almost the same amount of power and usually a much more reliable truck too i have a silverado with 125000 miles on it and still running like new

Ford F-150 or chevy Silverado reliability?

I am a Ford guy so the Ford would be my choice -drive both and see what you like the best - the engine configuration are quite different (even within the same model). I bought a 2010 F150 (lightly used) with the 5.4L and towing package. Drove a new V6 ecoboost too -and it just didn't have the balls from the start - and I was going to be towing a 4k lbs pretty regularly. Fuel mileage on the hwy is in the high teens - mid teens towing and around town. so not terrible and it is not used that often (long trips and towing).
Bottom line Ford or Chevy - not that much difference is quality more about driveability and economy.

Ford F-150 or Chevy Silverado ?

I would go with the Ford truck hands down. I'll provide a link called "Truth about Trucks" which goes on to describe the F-150, and rips it apart with other trucks to get down to the bones and show you the differences in the durability of the truck. It's all short video clips but very informative. Funny some of things that the competitors cut corners in actually, including the Silverado. There's a reason the F-150 is the #1 seller in trucks for 29+ years, and worldwide year after year. I'm still not sold on the Vortec engines, I'm supplying a link to a design issue which has lead to a class action lawsuit with Pistonslapping in the engines. Now on the financing, all depends how much you place down. Usually the 0% wins out over the long term. Unless you plan a huge downpayment and maybe 1-2 years of financing, then the rebate helps out. Hope this helps...

Ford F150 vs. Chevy Silverado?

that all depends on the year, price and drivetrain. as far as durability and reliability goes a ford will last longer. for the same reason it would be cheaper to fix a Chevy if it broke down. a Chevy looks better i think than any year f-150. Depending on the motor and tow package a Chevy will probably have more horsepower and acceleration but an f-150 could do just as good. its easier to find aftermarket accessories for a Silverado than an f-150.

So to answer your question if you want a good o'l work truck get a ford. if you want to rod around and pick up babes get a silverado and take it to the shop whenever you break it.

i used to be a die-hard chevy man but after a couple fords i wouldnt go back.

Chevrolet Silverado vs. Ford F-150?

Well, if you are talking about mudding, you are going to wanna go 4x4. You can do it in 2wd, but it won't be as effective or fun for that matter. So your not really gonna get 20ish mpg. I have a 2000 Silverado 4x4 and I get 15mpg. Now, here is the thing. Compare the safety ratings between Ford and Chevy. The Ford got poor ratings between 97 and 03. The cab completely crushes in. So you would want to go before 97 or after 03 for Ford. As for safety, go to www.autos.msn.com and click on the used car tab towards the top. You can see reliability ratings as well as watch the crash test videos of both. For gas mileage, go to www.fueleconomy.gov. So, in my honest opinion, I would go with Chevy. It's safer, gets a little better gas mileage and I can vouch for the performance. If nothing else, go to chevytruckworld.tenmagazines.com and fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.com
