You retard, the bands you listed aren't emo. The emo bands I dig are: Embrace Cap'n Jazz Texas is the Reason Edit: Nick C- You're thinking of the post-hardcore garbage scene kids listen too. Emo in its real form (e.g: the 80s DC Hardcore scene) wasn't whiny at all, they just had lyrics that were a tad more "emotional"; hence the term "emo" (which has been misused too many times to label bands, such as the ones in the opening post). But I dig the bands you listed.
What makes a band....an emo band???
'Emo' today means commercially focused bands playing banal pop-punk/goth/teen pop music. It is a label for both the fans and the music; fans are provided with a plastic 'identity' and subculture, and therein thr illusion of individualism, while the music is made easily recognisable and distributable to said fans. It's cousins are garage-rock and nu-metal which do the exact same things in the exact same ways except with different distortion pedals and t-shirts. Emo in it's oriuginal form was not just 'emo-tional,' as you say in your question, but it was emotional hardcore: emo-core. That is to say it took the style of hardcore punk, but eschewed the typical hardcore themes in favour of more a more personal slant. As such 'proper' emo could be really quite abrasive like its hardcore roots. It soon however became more melodic, and eventualy softer leading to modern indie-rock bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Jimmy Eat World who retained a connection to emo through their underground beginnings (a connection now completely lost), as well as purer music which retained some of the original emo ethos in composition despite becoming stylisticly like indie or pop punk. The bands you mention are indie bands, Emo came from hardcore. Emo bands are not just emotional. If emo music were just anything emotional then 3/4 of music made since the 1960's would be emo. Having said that I think it's important to recognise again that emo is just a trendy word that sells records rather than an actual genre of music nowadays. MCR and FOB etc are really just Blink-182 with somewhat maturer lyrics and more than 4 chords. The same thing has happened to the word screamo which originally meant very harsh, ultra-cathartic music, but now refers to modern rock music with non-sung vocals. Im the farthest from being Emo but I like Avenged Sevenfold. Im not into their early metalcore stuff but more into their songs from city of evil. Do you consider them emo?

Well first of all, you really should reword this question. Because your original question was "Is the band Linkin Park emo?" Then in your description, you say "people say I'm emo for liking them." Just really doesn't make sense there, does it? Anyways, no Linkin Park does not resemble emo in any way, shape or form. Emo bands typically wear woman's jeans and strum on acoustic guitars about lost love and the world not understanding them. Now, Linkin Park's lyrics haven't always been the greatest, and usually tend to be about love, loss, hope, hate, etc. but they are not projected in a way that even resembles the emo genre. For example, how many emo bands use keyboards and samplers? Exactly.

Hello, I love Black Veil Brides and i want to know about more screemo, emo bands that sings good such as Black Veil Brides and like them that they are not an old fashioned bands (!) and have good modern songs It's important that in they'r songr won't be a satanic and a suicide words (!!!!!!) Country Wedding song for older couple?
My Dad is 60 years old (his financee is 54) and getting remarried. I am happy for them and am helping plan the wedding. The only problem that I have is finding a song. They like country music and do not want to use the traditional wedding march since this will be a second marriage for both of them. Any ideas?
