Where do you draw, as a dungeon/ game master, inspiration from for your role-play games? What are some specific things? There’s a saying of unknown provenance that all gamemasters are frustrated writers. And as a writer, you come to view almost everything with an eye towards, “How could I use that in a story?”The first time I distinctly remember doing this was during my honeymoon. My wife and I were visiting her aunt, an American expat, in northern Italy, not far from Milan. One of the sites we visited during that stay was to the town of Grazzano Visconti. Grazzano Visconti was built in the 20th century as a revival of the original castle, establised in the 15th century. It’s a whole medieval community nestled in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, and walking around in it is like being on the best set you never saw in LOTR or Game of Thrones. Here’s what it looks like.Try to tell me the above isn’t a fantastic establishing shot for a scene in your game. Go ahead—I double dog dare you.Maybe it’s because of all the years of playing the Ultima series of games, but I look at this photo of the castle with that serpent symbol in the foreground, and I immediately think it’s time to heal up.From this angle, the castle looks foreboding, if not for the windows.Walking around in Grazzano Visconti was positively inspirational. And when I was running my D&D campaign in 4e some years back (we subsequently converted to 5e), my wife & I were at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. There is a grand staircase that enfold the enormous Foucault pendulum. It’s enormous and granite, but my first thought upon seeing it was gee, you could stage a terrific 4e fight on this staircase! All kinds of opportunities for forced movement, pushes/pulls, slides…it could be epic!Sometimes, when I need a convoluted plot element, I’ll re-watch The Shield or Game of Thrones. If I need something that transforms a character, I’ll revisit the Whedonverse, from Buffy through Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Cabin in the Woods, and even Dr. Horrible. And when I need something inspirational, I’ll reflect on various MCU films. Depictions of nobles? Probably Dumas or Game of Thrones depending on the tone.So from where do I draw inspiration? Everywhere: real life, fiction, film, TV, literature, history…All is grist for the mill.
If ever given a chance to be and relive one of the characters from The Mahabharata, which one would you wish to and why?
Thanks for the A2A Mohak :)I would like to be reborn as Goddess Ganga. Why?? The power to be pure (free of sins) and to remove sins from others is a very coveted idea in my head. In short, anything and everything that I touch will be heavenly blessed and will be considered as sacred.According to Bhagavata Purana, Lord Vishnu in one of his incarnations, appeared as Vamana in the sacrificial arena of Asura King Mahabali. Then in order to measure the universe, he extended his left foot to the end of the universe and pierced a hole in its covering with the nail of his big toe. Through the hole, the pure water of the Causal Ocean (Divine Brahm-Water) entered this universe as the Ganges River. Having washed the lotus feet of the Lord, which are covered with reddish saffron, the water of the Ganges acquired a very beautiful pink color. Because the Ganges directly touches the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu before descending within this universe, Ganges is known as Bhagavat-Padi which means Emanating from the lotus feet of Bhagavan (God). It finally settles in Brahmaloka, abode of Lord Brahma before descending to Earth at the request of Bhagiratha and held safely by Lord Shiva on his head to prevent destruction of Mother Earth. Then, the river Ganges was released from Lord Shiva 's hair to meet the needs of the country. So basically I get to meet all the three creators of this Universe!!!To possess an entrancing pure beauty (I am vain enough to admit that I want such physical perfection :P)I get the coolest Vahana from Hindu mythology - Makara, a half animal-fish.She started the whole Mahabharata, as per Vyasa's narration. Her role may be very small, but she played a significant role in providing one of the most impressive characters who had the boon of a wishful-life and a truly disciplined Kshatriya. Her divine vision already informed King Shantanu that because of his interference, the pre-written destiny will play with the dealt cards.Last, but not the least, I love her tempestuous nature (as a woman, and as the great Ganges), her independence and her devotion. And as a river, she gets to see places!! The freedom to travel!!!
What are the best Kannada movies of all time, considering both commercial success and impact on the local, regional, & national cinema industry and society? List the key features of the movie, year of release, director, and actors.
It is indeed a pity that the classic movie that I am about to speak about is not mentioned already. This classic was directed by Thriller Manju and starred Sai Kumar and Avinash(Yes, the movie does not have a heroine). The plot revolves around the Bangalore crime scene and the hunt for "Black Tiger". Sai Kumar is at his riveting best, where as Thriller's direction is Kurosawa-esque. And the movie name is *drum roll* POLICE STORYSome noteworthy scenes from the movie:1) One where Dialogue King(Sai) loses-it-all against the politicians and says to the Home Minister "Who the hell you to dismiss me? ahhh... Who the hell you to dismiss me? I yam resigning my jaab" and a moment later, after apologising to the commissioner, says "Yenjoi, camaan Yenjoi.. hmmmm. MAJAAA MAADU!"2) When the CBI officer meets Lok Nath. The CBI officer, in Sherlock Holmes manner, says "Is shehar main kohi hai jo inka madat kar raha hai" in response to which Loknath says, in flawless Hindi, " Yek ka naam hai Satya, our doosara Dharma"3) The one where Sai meets Sathya & Dharma in their house and asks their mom for water and explains how a mother feeds milk to her kids.4) The interrogation scene between Dialogue King and Cobraa where our King says "Tension togobeda Cobra, come on have a Dum" and offers him a cigarette. Look out for the "comon comon comon comon comon comon comon speak out speak out AYEEE" (That is "come on" repeated 7 times)This, ladies and gentlemen, is just a sample of the awesomess-par-excellence called Police Story. Please watch the movie, in its entirety, on YouTube here

What is the most ridiculous thing you have heard a teacher say?
I had an English teacher who, for anonymity’s sake, we’ll call Mrs. Fartright.Mrs. Fartright walked down the aisles, handing out our final written exam. She slides my paper onto my desk. I sign my honor pledge (no cheating etc) and open to the first page and begin conjuring my best responses. After the last question, I page back through and review. I find several typos and sentences that need rewording. I get my eraser out and scrub out bad sentences and reword them. No big deal right? I am one of the last people done. I walk up the aisle and lay my paper on the stack of know-nothings, in-betweens, and superstars.Fast forward 2 weeks. Our teacher, I mean Mrs. Fartright, hands back our papers. I get mine. I have an 89%. Which isn’t bad? But a nuisance, B’s and C’s require explanations back at the home front.I begin paging through and see -1 deductions all over the pages with no explanation. I look for patterns, but only notice the deductions are located where all of my eraser marks are. Perhaps I had worded it correctly the first time?I walk up front and kindly say “Excuse me, Mrs. Fartright, I noticed I lost points on my paper, a lot of -1 deductions, but there is no explanation?”I hand her my paper. She smiles and says “Oh yes, those deductions were for the erase marks, you may have cheated so I took a point off for those”W-w-w-w-wait a minute.I turn my head sideways, “Excuse me?”She says “Was that not clear?”, clearly irritated that I am challenging her.“No. Not clear at all. Say it one more time please”She reiterates “I took points off because your eraser marks mean you may have been copying your peers’ paper”.Blood rushes to my head. But I find a happy place and diplomatically make a case to her that this is not fair a) because it was not disclosed initially that we would lose points for erase marks and b) that is ridiculous? to take points because I “may” have cheated. We go back and forth. At this point we are sort of making a scene. I may even look like a fool up there arguing with her. But I don’t care. And neither does she, and she will not give an inch.I finally state “I am taking this to the administration, if you’d like to accuse me of cheating, go right ahead. I will not accept these deductions, on principle.”The points were awarded back to me.I thanked the gods I didn’t have to see her again.Because Mrs. Fartright clearly didn’t Graderight.(100+ edit suggestions later - Graderight was intentional. It is a joke people. But I do appreciate it)
What does being a Scorpio mean for personality?
Most people will tell you that being a scorpio means you are cold, calculating, moody, and vindictive. All of this is true. We can also be warm, caring, devoted, flamboyant, etc. The only things you can be sure of are that scorpios are complex. very complex. And usually part of them will care alot, and do almost anything for the people they care about. Scorpios will die for someone they care about enough, though usually they're clever enough to prevent that from being needed. And part of them won't care at all about anything. Everyone has that part, scorpios just know they have it, and sometimes they use it. And they usually read into everything, and imagine every possibility, no matter how gruesome. That's why we're often so quiet. If we said what was really on our minds, we'd scare most people. Most people only think about disturbing things when they have to. For some it becomes an obsession. For scorpios, it is just another possibility to be considered, so don't fault us for it. In fact, usually we can tell if other people are up to no good because we recognize that capacity in ourselves. Since we recognize it, we won't act on it, whereas most people don't even know they have the capacity for evil until they cheat on their spouse, embezzle company funds, etc. We can usually also tell when people are lying. If you are a scorpio, the best thing you can do is to learn as much as you can about yourself and learn to like and love yourself, without letting anyone push you around, and without pushing anyone else around either. If you're friends with a scorpio or in a relationship with one, be sure to have a thick skin and they'll be worth your while, don't try to control them, take their advice, but don't let them control you. That is all.
Please explain Beowulf to me...?
the best trading software http://tradingsolution.info i have attended a lot of seminars, read counless books on forex trading and it all cost me thousands of dollars. the worst thing was i blew up my first account. after that i opened another account and the same thing happened again. i started to wonder why i couldn,t make any money in forex trading. at first i thought i knew everything about trading. finally i found that the main problem i have was i did not have the right mental in trading. as we know that psychology has great impact on our trading result. apart from psychology issue, there is another problem that we have to address. they are money management, market analysis, and entry/exit rules. to me money management is important in trading. i opened another account and start to trade profitably after i learnt from my past mistake. i don't trade emotionally anymore. if you are serious about trading you need to address your weakness and try to fix it. no forex guru can make you Professional trader unless you want to learn from your mistake.
