French identity is simply way too strong, defined and old to be the least affected by immigration. Especially for a nation that has been a cultural carefour for so many centuries. As a matter of fact french identity has a transmission quality to whatever comes into contact with it, it rubs off on other cultures not so much the opposite.Few nations possess an identity as defined and resilient as France for a fact. There are clear social issues and cultural frictions related to the outcomes of mass immigration and worsen integration politics of the last 35 years but France will NEVER lose its identity to immigration. Flood France with the entire Middle East, West Africa or Northern Africa if you want but French people will always be French in identity and will turn most of these people into Frenchmen. Yes, France is on the decline as a nation but problematic immigration is only one of many symptoms caused by a much serious illness: the betrayal of the people by its political elite. The real problem is France losing sovereignty as a nation much like other European nations are as we speak, becoming EU confederate states with presidents becoming EU senators instead of heads of sovereign nations and becoming NATO minions serving corporate interests in forsaken places, where they have no business being in the first place. Only to suffer the backlash of these expeditions in form of debts and massive immigration waves...As an anthropologist, I do believe in the possibility for a larger, more fertile and resilient tribe to dominate, outbreed or even outculture its host to a degree, it´s a plausible theory by all means, especially if there is zero resistance from the host tribe. The most dominant culture ultimately dominates the weaker one. That´s just simple human maths. It could definitely happen some nations if the wrong set of conditions is gathered for it to happen, that is to say in a primitive, feudal or semi feudal type of environment. The variables are a bit different here and arguable. But the spirit of French identity, to reiterate, is simply too ancient, strong and defined to be diluted by immigration. If such a thing ever happens then we must fear for the world, for the French spirit is an asset to human culture and history, if French identity is ever lost through this process then European diversity in general stands as much chance as a candle in a hurricane to make it under such conditions.Restez Forts !
