Friend Wants Me To Do His Workout Routine

My friend wants to loose weight by starving herself...?

So, my friend is 5'1 and she weighs 152 pounds. She is always complaining about her weight and trying to diet. She said that dieting isn't getting her any where. So, she wants to try something new. She wants to starve herself every other day and work out every day for at least a half hour. I tried to talk her out of it a million times, but she isn't listening to me at all. She said that she wants to loose about 20-25 pounds. So, if she does what she said that she is going to do, how long will it take her to loose those 25 pounds? It worries me, but for some reason, I cannot change her mind. How healthy is it and will it work and make her thin like she finally wants. Please, only serious answers...i am very upset.

How can I politely refuse a friend who wants to come with me to the gym?

THAT'S a big problem bro..i too had the same problem and i used few very successful tips from entrepreneurs and professional to make it right, just kiddingYou can do any of these:1.Tell him i don't want you to come gym with me…politely ..well if he knows you well and is your friend than he never gonna listen to you,so tell him how it's gonaa make his muscles sore and pain for starting 2 weeks if he ‘s new to gym,and if he somehow come to gym make sure he hit legs exercise on his first day(most painful for first timer)……and then..maybe…you can succeed2. If first way doesn't work, let him come to the gym but use earphone or headphone etc so that you almost feel alone and good as you already mentioned.3.Change the time routine of your workout.4. If all the above don't work ,hire a professional kidnappers ……..just kidding……….I personally think option 2 is best.

My friend, 32, is very slim and wants to gain weight. He usually eats a lot to achieve his plan but he couldn't make it. What advice would you give to my friend?

I’m 1.78cm height and weighed 50–55kg until about 24 years old. Now (5 years later) I weigh around 73, and I’m very happy with my weight. I’m also quite slim. It’s mostly muscle. The causes for the change were multi-facetted. On the one hand, it’s important to realize that, according to many studies, fat people grossly underestimate the amount of calories they consume while skinny people grossly overestimate it. A good advice for your friend is for him to start counting his calories, at least for a week. Calculate Your BMI - Standard BMI Calculator tell him to use this to calculate his BMI, use an online calculator to see how many calories he burns a day based on his BMI, then eat 500 more than that a day.On the other hand, working out helped A LOT. It teaches your body that it requires more mass, in order to be ready for the workout. And I don’t mean cardio, I mean lifting. As heavy as he can, and heavier and heavier all the time. Lifting trains your body to be ready for more lifting, which requires more muscle mass.If he just wants to gain weight, tell him not to worry about it. Nowadays, I can get as high as 80kg if I don’t mind myself at all, and it’s more than I’d want. I’m pretty sure that keeping my weight down is going to be harder and harder as I grow old.Best of luck!

My girlfriend wants me to lose weight. What should I do?

Whatever you decide to do, do it for you, not for her. What you do for yourself will make you happier; what you change about yourself for her will (probably) make you less happy. It's possible that the fat is really a proxy for something else in your girlfriend's mind: desirability to others - perhaps she wants other people to admire you, and that will reflect well on her; physical fitness - exercising regularly will increase the energy you have, will tend to make you a more positive, 'can do' person, and will increase your sex drive (and sexual stamina). Note, this has nothing to do with weight, but in most people's minds 'fat' and 'fit' are negatively correlated. Or - and this is the least optimistic option - she has bought into media images of what a desirable man should look like, and thinks she 'deserves' a man with a six pack. She should be careful what she wishes for, though. That kind of physique takes a lot of maintenance in the gym, as well as tediously obsessive dieting. I've known a few 'gym widows' who just wish their boyfriends would spend some quality time with them instead of always being in the gym. As one rather bawdily put it: "I wish he'd spend as much time in me as he does in the gym"So yes, by all means devote some more time to your physical fitness, wellbeing, and general appearance, because that will make you feel good - and as a by-product is likely to make you more appealing to others. Do other stuff that makes you feel good about yourself, whether that's sports, charity work, meditation/yoga, home improvements, volunteering with kids, buying your girlfriend flowers, even just shopping for new clothes that make you feel hot (if you're feeling brave, let her take you shopping for clothes). But do it for you, because you want to, not to please anyone else.

Why doesn't my friend want me to lose weight?

Okay so my friend does not want me to lose any weight and IDK why. I have always been the fat one and I decided to turn a new leaf to be healthy. :) And she doesn't want me to. WHY??? Shouldn't she be happy for me? She calls me fat all the time... It just doesn't make sense to me. Do y'all have any ideas why she doesn't want me to?

I want to start hitting the gym with my friends, especially to get abs and increase my biceps. Can you help me with my workout routine?

There’s a lot of fluff and photos in here so I’ll just keep it brief. You’re not going to believe me, either. I know you won’t but I speak the truth. You have one workout, you do it three days a week.5–10 minutes of Warmup - Jumping Jacks or skipping rope. Just get warm.Squat - 5 sets x 5 reps. The first set is very light, just get the form. The second one is ~50% of your max weight. The third is ~75% your max weight. The last two sets are as heavy as you can go. Go as low as you can go, “Ass to Grass (or Ankles)”, as they say.NOTE: The last two sets are what’s really important. The first three are just to get your body ready for the last two!Overhead press - 5 sets x 5 reps. Same routine as squats.Deadlift - 5 sets x 5 reps. Same routine as the others.Stretch, drink water, roll around on the ground. That’s it. Eat good healthy foods, if you’re doing this right you’re going to get hungry. Lots of whole milk, eggs and lean meats. Lots of vegetables and fruits. Lots of liquids. Lots of sleep.Do this for at least a month or two. Then PM me and I’ll tell you a slightly modified routine.Disclaimer: I don’t talk about how to do these exercises safely, so I recommend you seek the council of someone who knows and can work with you personally. This might be a certified trainer, it might just be someone who has good sense. I trust that you can seek out someone with the knowledge to guide you.

Is working out Monday through Friday bad for me?

If you're starting out with slow easy workouts then I would say it's fine if you were to work out almost every day. But don't push yourself. Straining your muscles and doing excessive workouts five days a week just as you're starting your workout routine could lead to you injuring your muslces. After you've started to bulk up and your body is used to working out so much then you could easily switch over to doing harder work outs five or more days a week.

A friend of mine cuts himself; he says it's to increase his pain tolerance. Should I tell someone or leave it?

Tell him that it’s a stupid way to increase pain tolerance. In some cases it may even release dopamine as a pain killer which can be pleasurable. If he wants to productively up his pain tolerance, try the following workout routine.Do ten of the following:Push upsSquats/skatersCrunchesLaps around a fairly large object like your house or the gymJumping jacks.Drink some water. Then do nine.Drink some water. Then do eight. And repeat until you reach zero.(I’m serious about the water part. If youre out of shape and you skip that step you will throw up. I’ve seen it and it’s not pretty.)The next day you will know what pain is.Take some Advil and pile on the rice blankets. Eat some bananas. Drink a protein shake. Have some bean dip and salsa. The next day do all the above exercises and count down from 11.Take a rest day.Now count down from 12.Then 13.Then 14.Eventually get to 20.Congratulations. Your pain tolerance has increased. Now invest in a gym membership and use the weight room.

My 16 year old son needs to lose weight.and work out?

hey, youre a good friend of mine on here so i thought id help you with this... tell your son to look for advice from his friends and also look at youtube for the best workout routines... there will be instructional videos and the workouts that show up most will most likely work the best... tell him not to train like a proffessional body builder... this has TERRIBLE results until the bones stop growing, tell him to only take protein supplements with no additives if he wants to take them... lift light, lift right, and if he cant do 15 repititions of one exercise DONT DO IT.... dont have him go down to 130... he will be unhealthily underweight.. if hes anything like me (im 15 5'11 and 155-160ish) this advice will help him greatly... (oh and if his tendants are in pain for any exercise... tell him to STOP immediately... this is VERY important) good luck!!!
