Friends E-mail Me And They Get Notices That My E-mail Address Is Not Good.

My friends are getting emails from me that I never sent. How do I fix this?

run a virus scan and get rid of spyware
it has happened to all of us and it is not fun.
change your password too.

My friends keep getting delivery failure notices when they mail me at Yahoo.?

Your email probably hasn't been hacked but at the same time your email provider is probably a rubbish one with a worm running in it? Just hope it's not Tiscali...!

You can't. People who are not your friends get messages in an OTHER folder, but they don't get notifications of the message.Sometimes, I see a message six months after it was sent. Once someone sees that the have a message, they can instantly (without reading it) report it as SPAM, in which case, you will be blocked from their profile altogether.Sending messages to people you don't know is a sure way of getting your account suspended or deleted, if enough people report you.

What’s the harm of giving a stranger your email address? There are at least four obvious risks.Malware Downloads. Most obviously, if you send them your email address they are almost certainly going to send you an email. Then you will have to come back here and ask if it is safe to open an email from a stranger who requested your address without explanation. And it is extremely risky to open that email. Most likely it carries a malware payload that could take control of your computer. Perhaps it will encrypt your hard drive then they ask you for a payment in bitcoin for the key. Or perhaps they just install adware. In any case it is too risky to open the email so why give them an address?Phishing Attack. Also very likely is the possibility that this is someone just trying to get your email address so that they can try a phishing attack, tricking you into providing useful data using some pretext. Maybe they will try to convince you that you have inherited $1B from your uncle, a Nigerian Prince, and you just have to send them the details of your bank accounts.Catfishing Scams. Less likely but still common is the possibility is that this is the beginning of a catfishing scam, where some old guy will pretend to be a young model who likes your profile and wants to marry you. They will then ask you for money to come to stay with you, you send it and then you never hear from them again — unless they need more money.Identifying real names. If your messaging account is not in your real name then sending an email address could help them to identify you. Perhaps you are using a pseudonym for some reason and with more datapoints like an email address someone might be able to find other accounts, find real-name friends among these and thus work out your real identity. If someone has a genuine need to send you an email they can also explain why they want to do this in their original message. For example, if a journalist from the New York Times would like to interview you about a social media post they will say that. A distant relative doing ancestry research who would like to get in touch will explain why they want to contact you.And if anyone has a genuine reason to contact you they will also do this from a real name account that wasn’t created just five minutes before they contact you. The chances that anything good will come from an anonymous contact like this are essentially zero.

Why aren't my Yahoo e-mails being delivered?

I've been having the exact problem(s). The only other person I've been writing to is also a Yahoo! Mail user; this person tends to reply almost immediately to my messages, so I, too, was suspicious.

I sent several "test" messages to myself, at my POP server, from my Yahoo! account, and didn't receive them. I sent messages from in the other direction, from my POP server, to my Yahoo! account, and I didn't receive them, either.

Addendum: Interesting how Yahoo! doesn't respond to this issue; the only "help" we get is from well meaning "Average Joes," who offer the most basic, redundant, comments--none of which have anything to do with the issue at hand--the stated problem with Yahoo!'s service.

It's been several days now, and my Yahoo! Mail messages (not messages sent from any of my other e-mail accounts) either aren't delivered at all, or are delivered hours and/or days late. This is happening, as well, to my friend who also uses Yahoo! Mail and corresponds with me. It does not happens when he uses other e-mail programs that are not web-based, and/or does not send to Yahoo!Mail accounts

How can i set up my yahoo mail to know when my sent mail has been opened or read?

Yahoo Mail does not have a delivery indication or the capability to request receipts. Some separate email programs can request a receipt but the person receiving the email must also have a compatible program and allow the receipt to be returned.

There are some web sites that give you a graphic to embed in your email and then they let you know if mail has been read. If someone blocks graphics from unknown people then it doesn't work.
Example: http://www.getnotify.com/

There are also sites where you must add their domain name to the end of the address and then they trace it for you.
Example: http://www.readnotify.com/

Many of my e-mails don't reach their destinations?

Some are reported by Mailer Daemon as not having been accepted, others are just never received and not reported as such. One address, that I communicate with almost daily, has be reported as being instructed to block my e-mails. The receiver and I have been friends for fifty years and swears that neither he or anyone else there has put a block on my e-mails. One of my daughters, until recently also a Yahoo.com user, has only received one or two of my e-mails, among perhaps twenty that I have sent her. Can you or anyone else help me get to the bottom of this? The only success I have had consistently is to go to my Sent file, retreive a particular message, and forward it to an address after it hasn't arrived by conventional e-mail. HELP!

Not able to receive emails in yahoo inbox?

A lot of us are having problems with Yahoo email.

I can send, but cannot receive. Plus I discovered a lot of my main contacts were in the "blocked address" folder.

Who knows how long they've been there?

I went to the Help link and found that they're charging like $30 for three days of assistance. So what if this happens again next week?

I tried calling, but could not get through. I did leave a message saying that this is a free service, and I'm not paying for help--especially since it could happen later without warning.

I will just go elsewhere. There are plenty of sites that offer free email accounts.

I also said they may get a few folks who'll pay--but there will be a huge backlash if they try to hold our "free" accounts hostage.

Y'all do what you want. But I wouldn't encourage anyone to pay for the support. What's to stop them from purposely pulling this every week?

My yahoo email is sending out spam (possibly virus) mail to my contacts?

Same thing happened to me this morning 3/22/13
People in my contacts list letting me know I sent them spam
Nothing in my sent folder
several MAILER DAMON failure notices.

I reset my password, I've heard that this is an issue with yahoo and not anything on my end. But I can't confirm it.
It'd be nice if Yahoo was compromised that they'd let their customers know.
I did find this news story about it:

Let me tell you, if you are talking about sending a request on Facebook and if that person is using Facebook application, then YES, he or she will DEFINITELY get a notification on the mobile at the notification bar saying “xyz has sent you a request” with Facebook application's logo on the screen till the time he or she clears the notification by pressing clear button available on the mobile screen manager. So now it doesn't really matter whether you have deleted the request or not, but when the person will try to see your request by clicking on that facebbok's notification, he or she won't actually see any request there (as you have already deleted) and after that the notification will also go away.Note 1: if you want to try this, then use two different accounts and user Facebook application for one ID while you can use any browser for other ID and sent request from your Browser Facebook to application ID, it will be clear for you.Note 2: I'm telling this because it has happened with me many time that I got some request notifications on my mobile (as I use Facebook app) for requests, but when I go there, I found nothing.Good luck!
