Friends.pls Tell Me The Price Of Tomato Sauce

Is Goya Sofrito the same as tomato sauce?

This recipe is from the source site. As you can tell, sofrito has many ingredients. A friend of mine makes her own and it very good to add to many recipies. What you buy will probably be a much thicker consistency than tomato sauce. I don't know what you are making, but if it were me, I would add a dollop of sofrito into regular tomato sauce and call it unique and tasty.

My Basic Sofrito Recipe:

2 pounds- large green peppers
1 pound- medium size head of garlic
3 pounds- large onions
1- bunch of cilantro
1/2 cup- vegetable oil
Add these items from your own "hortaliza"...
50- recao leaves
1 pound- ajies dulce (small sweet cooking peppers)

Dream of cabbage and tomato juice?

Cabbage
To see a garden of cabbage, forewarns of getting yourself into poor and negative real estate deals. Purchasing property at this time will give you more trouble than it is worth.
To dream of eating cabbage, foretells of quarrels with family members.
To dream that you are cooking cabbage, forewarns of dental problems.

Tomatoes
To see tomatoes in your dream, symbolizes domestic happiness and harmony.
To dream that you are eating tomatoes, foretells of good health.

Forest (or the woods)
Natural forces. Social activities of a happy nature. Ready to explore.

so to put it all together it probably means there will be social activities of happy families and this happy family will buy a not so good house. and then someone will get pregnant. ?

My vegan friend asked me to a dinner party, but indicated that despite me accommodating her dietary preferences when she is a guest in my home, she will not reciprocate. How should I respond?

Graciously accept her invitation and attend. The two situations are not parallels, because there is a difference between dietary exclusions and desired inclusions. As a vegan, I do not eat animal products, but I have no particular demands that certain foods be part of a meal. I like carrots, but I don’t need to have carrots with every meal.A person with no dietary restrictions can eat meat and dairy, but unless you are on a very unhealthy 100 percent meat diet, you can also eat fruit, vegetables, grains, and anything else that a vegan would eat. You might like steak, and you might prefer to have some meat with your meals, but that doesn’t prevent you from eating one without it. It isn’t your ideal dinner, the one you would choose for yourself, but going to dinner parties always means that you eat what someone else picked out.You attend the dinner party because it won’t cause you any harm or distress to eat one meal without meat, and you behave graciously because cooking meat most likely would distress your friend. I’m going to assume that you have no moral objections to buying and preparing vegetables or nuts, that handling them do not gross you out, but many vegans do object to supporting the meat or dairy industry.I am a vegan for many reasons. My stomach fares a lot better without meat and dairy, I am an animal lover who cannot support the murder of animals or the mistreatment of industrial farm animals, and I care too much about the environment to participate in the waste and pollution of modern agriculture. Since my family are not vegan, I compromise by preparing some meat/animal products from small and local organic farms where the animals are treated as humanely as possible. I don’t like it, and most people couldn’t afford the prices, but I won’t force my family to follow my diet. You however are not being forced to eat vegan. You just have to eat one meal without meat, and that could have happened even if your host wasn’t vegan. I appreciate that you made accommodations for your friend, as not doing so would have meant that she couldn’t eat at all, but remember that the two situations are very different.

What is the best dish to bring to a home bound friend?

My friend just gave birth today to a little girl. Within the last month she, along with her husband, moved into a new home. Needless to say things are chaotic. She lives closer to me but farther away from other family and friends so it is more difficult for them to get out this way to see her and the baby. I want to make sure her refrigerator is stocked full of dinners over the next week so they have one thing to mark off their list of worries.
Casseroles are good. I know this and I have plenty to choose from but I also want to make some nicer(but still simple) dinners for them as well.
Any suggestions?

Need creative ideas for a "tomato paste war"--just read please, ill explain?

Okay, this is going to sound really weird, but go with me on this...

My friends and I are in a "tomato paste war." We come up with ideas to play tricks on each other with cans of tomato paste (haha, yes I know, we're weird, we have too much time on our hands, yeah, yeah, yeah...) There are two teams. The first team tied a can of tp to the antena of my friend's car, one girl on our team had her dad bring a lunch bag to school with a can of tp in it and told the secretary to take it to a girl on the other team, someone sent a package with a bunch of cans to my house, and we filled two of the girls lockers with tons of pictures of tp.

Any other ideas?

The rules:
You cant destroy someone else's stuff
But you can open the tomoto paste!!!

Thanks!

What is the worlds 3rd hottest hot sauce?

Well today at lunch, one of my friends brought some hot sauce to school and was giving alot of peple it and they were just freaking the hell out so of course being 13 and stupid I wanted to try it :P . I asked him for some and he gave me just a little. I licked it off the chip and I imiditaly regretted it. The burn was so misserable I ouldnt stop spitting and my ears felt like there was LITERALLY steam coming out and it was just so painful. I was puring mustard and ranch into my mouth to try to stop the pain which did not help at all. It was the end of lunch so I oculdn't get milk, and water wasn't an option because on the label it said all water would do is expand the pain. Then I was freaking out and we had to go to class. When I got there I begged to go to the restroom because I had never cried in school and didn't plan on getting cought doing it. I saw one of my friends in the hall and she went to the restroom with me. I started tearing up while she was peeing so I wiped mmy eyes, but of course, I did yet ANOTHER stupid thing because the hot sauce was on my hands still, and sence my eyes have water stuff in them it expanded all across and I couldn't keep them open and I begged her to go tell my teacher I was going to be awhile and she did and then, she gav e me a nurse pass and went to go tell her teacher she was taking me to the nurse, (she told her teacher I was blind btw to get out of class -.- ) After we started walking to the nurse we saw her friend Robby and he was sick from throaghing up ( not to mention I did ANOTHER stupid thing and tried to puke but it just got on my throat and made that burn ) And when we got to the nurse ( Suprise! ) she wasn't there! Then she came after about 5 minutes later and said she couldn't deel with us right now because she had another student to take care of. ( Which aparintly was worse than my scoarching mouth, eyes and ears) So wahen I got back to class my mouth was burning beyond belief and it wore off around 6th period. So it took all and all about an hour to stop the misserable pain. So does anyone know the name of that hot sauce? And I am warning you don't try it you will regret it instantly but then it's just to late. So what is the name of it ( I only know it's the worlds third hottest hot sauce) please and thankyoiu :D

What can I add to canned Hunt's pasta sauce to make better spaghetti?

There was a day when I bought Hunt's Pasta Sauce because it was less costly than a similar weight of tomato sauce or stewed tomatoes or the like. Frugality pressed this, but I am a restless cook incapable of using a single can of anything for a meal. In short, that can always served as a starting point.By itself, Hunt's makes a sweet pasta sauce of low interest in taste and texture, as it is a bit thin. Not as cloying awful or as inedible as Ragu, but sweet enough that it could use some acid counter-balance to background sweetness.Depending on my mood and what is in the refrigerator, every sauce starts with a chopped onion sauteed until near caramelized, plus a stalk of celery and one bell pepper, diced mushrooms (absolute must as fresh, as canned taste like the tin!), a can of petite diced tomatoes, and, my preferred favorite, at least 8 ounces of cooked sausage which marries the best with sweeter sauces. Seasonings include several cloves of minced garlic, a handful of Italian seasoning, and, so necessary, several tablespoons of red wine to taste or, if no wine available, a generous splash of balsamic vinegar for an acidic pop of flavor. Despite a 30 minute simmer to marry flavors while assembling a salad and cooking pasta, this is a relatively quick ’n easy fix if surprise company has landed and a meal offer is impending.Granted, this is a bit more work beyond a simple opening of a can for an instant meal, however, I've preferred making sauces like this knowing that I'll have leftovers … meaning a break from cooking from scratch the next day. Leftover sauce, which is always better the second day, marries well to polenta slices or leftover rice. You can still eat well without take-out cost or a full half-day assembly of a fully scratch-cooked tomato sauce.I no longer buy Hunt's sauce in favor of glass-jarred sauces, particularly low or no-salt varieties which are frustratingly hard to find and often more costly for leaving out one ingredient. Again, my recent preferences usually serve as a start to an expanded result with extra vegetables or meat addition or spices to liven the low salt. Yeah, still restless in the kitchen.

Should i add cayenne pepper to my marinara sauce for spaghetti and meatballs?

I like a little kick to my marinara sauce but I get it by adding some fennel and crushed red pepper - you know, the stuff they put on the table at pizza places in shakers.

For enough sauce for spaghetti for two, I'd go with 1 /2 to 1 tsp of fennel seed and 1 to 2 tsp of crushed red pepper. It depends on how hot the crushed red pepper is and how much bite you want in your sauce, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to use the dreaded phrase "to taste".

If you use 3 Tablespoons of cayenne pepper, you and your friends will probably achieve lift-off. Did you mean paprika?

At any rate, you need to simmer the sauce for about 10 mins (just barely simmering) and taste before adding more spices.
