From The 90s. What Were The Accessories That Had Makeup Attached To It Called

Why have girls started to put chokers around their neck? I personally think it looks stupid and unappealing, but why do girls use it?

I find people are criticizing you for stating your personal option (welcome to the internet) on thinking chokers look stupid. It’s a type of necklace, not a person or group that you're calling stupid, so feel free to think whatever you want. There is a lengthy history behind the fashion of chokers. From symbolizing secret lesbianism to not-so secret prostitution, the choker has meant a lot of things through history. For now, the choker is just another trend that has been recycled from the 90’s fashion trends that have been making a comeback. It doesn't really have a specific meaning today. Now, there are strong sexual undertones attached to chokers such as “make me your bitch” or “choke me during raunchy sex.” Guys your age who don't think chokers are stupid may like this message and girls may like the attention from their sexual power.Just because somebody wears a choker necklace doesn't mean they mean the messages listed above. Chokers are a great way to have a necklace without a traditional necklace drape all over the place. Chokers are nice, snug, and stay in place. Certain fashion icons wear chokers and masses want to follow (like any other trend). Chokers are just like every other trend that has been made: the choker was created, it went out of style, it was rediscovered and it became cool again, and repeat.

If it was socially acceptable to wear anything, what would you wear?

I’d wear early 20th c. clothing.Edwardian Style Clothing- Dresses, Shoes, AccessoriesOK, maybe without the headwear, and the hemline at ankle level so I don’t trip over it.And I’m not cooking up hypotheticals for the sake of answering this question. I seriously have to stop myself from buying clothing like this when shopping online and in vintage stores. In grad school, I used to wear dresses like this but a few inches shorter - not to class, but during weekends when shopping and visiting bookstores.http://picture-cdn.wheretoget.it...I think that more contemporary versions of Edwardian and 1920’s clothing - like the blue dress above - could be worn in campus towns without making a spectacle of oneself, provided you are a student. But once you are a faculty member (especially in a STEM field where even being female is suspect) then it doesn’t broadcast a professional message when you wear it to class. And you don’t want to do labs in floaty clothing.I’ve spent a great deal of time plotting ways of getting around this quandry. Here are my solutions, in case anyone is interested.Wear a jacket over it during Summer school (if you work in a college). This is a more relaxed time on campus anyways, so keeping low profile in one’s department, one could get by without losing too many credibility points.Restrict these to places with a close to zero probability of running into one’s colleagues or students, such as quaint little downtown areas with old buildings, a locale big on recycling, several states away. Portland, OR fits the bill nicely. (OK, maybe it works even if it is your home state. It is a culture to its own; cue Portlandia.) So now I’ve revealed on Quora the less than acceptable activity I indulge in, when I travel out of town.Wear them when socializing, and to cultural events.I’m guessing that an investment banker, surgeon, engineer, etc. wouldn’t want to wear any version of these clothes around colleagues. In fact, I can only think of a handful of occupational settings where such clothing won’t detract from one’s credibility: bookstores, discount clothing stores, vintage stores, etc.

Is it safe to put super glue on your face?

Yes. It will not melt your skin. Superglue was originally a military invention for treating surface wounds and was applied directly on the skin to the injured area. Super Glue has been used in a myriad of different ways. It was used for treating war wounds in the Vietnam war (it was sprayed over open wounds to stop the bleeding).

There is a medical version of superglue . It's called Dermabond.

I first learned about using super glue for wounds when an auto mechanic I know scraped his knuckles real bad and immediately slobbered some super glue all over it.

Why are men so particular about their facial hair?

In addition to Ravi Bhoraskar (रवि  भोरास्कर)'s reasons, I'd like to point out that a beard is a part of who we are. It not only gives men a sense of satisfaction, but also a sense of achievement. A man who cannot grow a full beard is still unaware of the pleasures that await in the embrace of hair on your face. As has been pointed out, it is no easy job. When hair grow, it is indeed irritating, but when you've surpassed the tipping point, the irritation stops, and you start admiring the jungle you've grown all by yourself.Besides, a beard can say a lot about a man. A full bearded man is the king of the jungle, the alpha-male, has reached the pinnacle of manhood. It is the male equivalent of child-bearing hips. A man who does not shave is not lazy, he is sending out a message to all those who will listen. A man with a goatee is saying that he cares for style. A simple scruff might just say that he's waiting to experiment. A man with a moustache bows to no challenge, and least of all the number of negative stereotypes (rapist, paedophile, murderer) that unfairly surround it. So when a beard is so much a part of our personality, it makes sense to be fond of it, be particular about it.Facial hair is a choice. A man must always choose, and choose well. Not everyone can sport everything and get away with it. But being able to make that choice is what separates boys from men.To finally rest the matter, Obi-Wan Kenobi had a beard. End of story.
