From The Perspective Of Energy Policy And National Security Was The Iraq Invasion Necessary

Liberalism? Conservative? What do these really mean?

Wow...good job! Pretty much sums it up and yeah...prepare to be attacked with namecalling. I'm sure they are on their way!

What do soldiers think of war? ( Iraq, Afghanistan, possibly Iran)?

I don't know if there is any reliable recent polling data to evaluate support for the war among military personnel. But based on comments I've seen from military personnel on this and other forums, I'd agree with you that a strong majority support the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

It is true that soldiers have a unique perspective of the war due to their direct involvement. But does that mean they are the best authority for setting national policy? We should remember that this nation was founded on the concept of control of the military by the civilian political leadership, and ultimately, we the people. The alternative is military dictatorship.

I think soldiers tend to look at the war primarily through the prism of their own direct wartime experiences and observations, and are perhaps unwilling or unable to evaluate the costs and benefits of war policy relative to non-military issues that may affect the overall national interest. Should we rely on the military to prioritize our national resources to meet the multiple challenges of security, infrastructure, energy, economic competitiveness, education, etc.? The Founding Fathers did not want to repeat the history of Europe, in which monarchs (i.e. military dictators) often squandered their nations' resources in unnecessary wars where the only benefit to the population was to give them a chance to die for the glory of the king.

What are the causes of conflict in the Middle East?

People may give many reasons for lack of peace in Middle-East but the true reason is the rich oil resources of the region. Not just oil but this piece of land is also blessed with natural gas and other natural resources; 32% of the world’s natural gas rests in the hands of Middle-East states. So, to be very serious the war going on in Middle-East is more a result of international conspiracies than it is of sectarian violence.Middle-East is rich of oil, petroleum, gas, opium, gold and aluminium resources.Seeing these facts one must consider that ‘’Why these countries are not developing? The reason is that international powers are using these countries as nothing but their war grounds to fulfil their vested interests. All of this is a conspiracy of anti-Muslim powers.Yes, some of the middle-east states i.e. Saudi Arabia are progressing much faster than others but the reason is that not a single one of the 1.6 billion Muslims of the world would stay low if something happens to Saudi Arabia. Also that Saudi Arabia and other such nations sell petrol and natural gas to world’s powers on low rates and easy terms. You might be surprised but this is true, the human-blood is being shed for nothing but the gain of power. The UN has failed miserably in prevailing peace in Middle-East. In fact UN The United Nations is not more than a Debating Society. The so-called ambassadors of peace instead of making efforts to prevent war and save human lives give preference to their own interests. The current situation in Syria is hidden from none.Armies enter these countries ignoring their regional sovereignty, in the name of prevailing peace, fight for their own interests and once they have been fulfilled they leave. No one cares for the hundreds of thousands that have that and the ones that are being killed daily either by terrorists or the ambassadors of peace. The only thing these cowards care about is gaining control natural resources of the region at any cost of all.

Did anyone else laugh when McCain put out the I was a POW line?

People who have been through anything really hard don't talk about it when ever they want attention. I have a son that died & I that is all I talked about for a long time. I attend a spiritual center & learned that you get to a point in life where it stops being OK to tell that story..so they put up with me begining & ending everything about poor me what I had been through but eventually, not that anyone said it but it was as if they were going to say "are you still telling that story". I am thankful I dwelled in it to a point where it almost killed me but then finally I decided not to rot. I had to get up & become new in the present moment. I took advantage of so many sweet people. I would tell them what happened & the world was mine. This issue with McCain has stopped everything in it't track no on dares to hold him accountable,,,as I am was writting I looked & saw an interview with Paul Newman. I never knew he had a son that died & this is my point exactly. This man lived all these years & did what he had to do to to make something good out of this but he didn't bring it up every minute of everday of his life...McCain is a phoney. The Vietnam Veterans against McCain will have videos about the truth story about McCain look for the videos.
