Fun Things To Do When Your Broke And In A Small Town

I am 23, have no friends, and live in a small town. What are your suggestions on how to meet people?

My suggestion is, if you feel it would be right for you, to move to another place.Usually, the biggest reason for people who want to move to another place but they don't, is either friends, family, or work.I had 2 of 3, but still did it.Now, after a long time, in my “new” country, I have again 2 out of the 3, but differently. If I have my hometown friends here, I would be grateful, but I don't.There is the chance if making new friends in a bigger city by joining clubs, hobbies etc. That's the easiest way to do it.That's only my suggestion. What you should do is entirely up to you. But please try to do your best and make friends. They are one of life's miracles.

In a small country town in Australia, would the updates of having fibre optics installed throughout our towns do a lot of damage to people’s privacy and what “ they “ choose to do with that information for gangstalking techniques?

I do not live in a small country town in Australia, though I have done so for a large fraction of my life. I live in one of Australia’s larger cities. For most of the time I have been on the net, my connection speed has been lower than that available in many country towns. The introduction of fibre based technology here has seem my download speed go from between 2 and 3 Mbps to about 47 Mbps with upload less than 1 Mbps to about 19 Mbps. People in other towns, some quite small were getting anything from 5 to 20 Mbps download on ASDL2+ In 2006 a relative who “only” had dial up was getting faster service than I was.Despite the earlier slow connection, I could use sites like Quora, Facebook, Amazon, eBay, Reddit, Instagram and even YouTube (though not at the highest resolution). The main problem I had was frequent drop outs, though that was in the earlier times. If I wanted to indulge in gang stalking I could have done so on dial up, ADSL2+, FTTN or FTTP , on a phone or any other communication device. Here’s something. Even before mobile phones and the internet existed, even in quite large towns and small cities word goes around that certain persons are to be distrusted or avoided where possible. In the early 1980s, a few years after I moved there, I made the acquaintance of someone with a very unusual surname. Over the next year or so I began to hear queer stories about him. He was kicked out of the RAAF, so they said. He was seen dressed as a woman parading up and down the main street, according to one man, whom I did not regard as very trustworthy himself. At first I took little notice, but an incident which happened a few years after I heard the first stories pretty much confirmed some of the stories, so from then on I gave him a miss. You do not need fast communications for word to get around.

Do you miss the way halloween used to be?

I do, but I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Nowadays more parent's aren't allowing trick or treating, or limiting their children's candy. When I was younger it was like a challenge to get the most candy. Then you came home, traded with siblings, and stuffed yourself full of sweets. I know that much candy isn't healthy but one night a year isn't going to kill anyone. It also seems like more people are handing out healthy treats (which is good) but what kid really wants raisins for halloween? Shouldn't they get treats since it is a "holiday".?
I know things today aren't as safe as they used to be, but I think that some concerns are blown out of proportion. I mean... if you accompany your child, examine their candy, and bring a flashlight (among other things) they should have a good *safe* night.

What are your thoughts on this holiday? Do you plan on letting your children trick or treat? What kind of treats are you handing out?
&
Do you miss the way halloween was when you were little? I do.

Thanks for your time =)

Is it better to marry a city girl or a small town girl?

My husband and I are both from a small town. I am going to vote for "a small town girl". When we were dating we had most of our problems when we tried to be big pimpin and turn into city people. It's a more fast paced life...and always competing to be just as good as everyone else. We have sinced married and returned to our small town roots and are most comfortable in that lifestyle. The city is fun...for a night or weekend..not a marriage. I have the time and energy to focus on him and his needs vs everyone else.

Am I going to regret not going to my senior prom?

my senior prom is coming up, and i'm kinda debating whether i should go or not.

I'm not close with my class at all, in fact, i kinda hate almost all of them. my school is in this small town place where everybody goes go the same school together since they were in kindergarten, and their parents were friends with each other in high school. everybody acts the same way, all athletic, dresses the same clothes, has the same common mindset, etc... basically everybody is very "all-american." i came from a big city, where there were lots of diversity, and ppl are a bit more "forward" or open-minded. i don't get a long with the kids at my age, i think differently, i'm into things that they're not into (ex: art, foreign cultures, meaning of life,..)

we just had a prom fashion show yesterday, and i got a glimpse of what prom might be like. the event was basically just the kids in my grade modelling prom dresses and tuxes, getting their "red carpet" moments with photographers and everything... i felt so left out during the whole thing, so much that if my friend wasn't in it, i would've left from the beginning. it just didn't feel right for me to be there. i felt like i was in a totally different world, where everything is so superficial and materialistic. even the parents who were there seemed stuck-up.

ppl have told me not to miss prom fashion show, and i didn't. ppl are telling me now not to miss senior prom, because it's the last memory of high school i'll ever get. the theme is Masquerade.

should i go? or would i just be wasting my time? i've never been to a school dance before. prom has never been on my mind until now, i've always thought it was kind of a drag.

sorry if this is too long! thanks for helping! any prom stories would be greatly appreciated!

Why is northeastern Ohio so lame?

I live near Youngstown...there is seriously NOTHING to do. The people here are disrespectful and RUDE. They are all depressed and broke, and complain about how terrible the economy is, but none of them are willing to do anything about it but *****. If they are not crying about the economy they cry about the weather. its like noone here is ever happy. This place is like the **** hole of the whole eastern seaboard. Dose anyone know of anything fun here to do other than go get drunk? I mean... seriously.
