Funny Thing To Make People Copy Out As A Punishment

What is the most embarrassing punishment in Indian schools?

This was way back in 2000 when I was in Class 6th. We had a Sanskrit teacher who was well known for her quirky style of inflicting punishments on students. So, there was a test and I got average marks. I made a few mistakes in the grammar portion though I didn’t give it much of thought. As it turned out, I was so wrong. The teacher’s brain had concocted a special punishment for all those who had made grammatical mistakes (I don’t know why she was such a stickler for grammar). Anyways, she called out the roll nos. of all those who had secured less marks in the grammar segment. As luck would have had it, only two roll nos. were called out and mine was one among them. I was hoping it’d be a simple caning process on the hands or derriere or calves or wherever.Ah! I was so wrong again. She foraged her purse and brandished a card of Bindis.Source : The Bedazzling BindiYes, she was going to plant a bindi on my forehead. What? I was flabbergasted. The shame. The embarrassment. The class was in splits as she made her way to my seat and slapped one on my forehead. Covertly, I tried to bring some of my frills on the forehead, but she was a seasoned assassin and caught me. She instructed the class prefect to keep an eye on the two of us and make sure the bindi stays on our forehead till the end of the day.I was glued to my seat for the rest of the day and didn’t lift my head. From that day onward, I was extra cautious in the grammar portion.Wow! Those were interesting times.

How can I punish someone who is illegally accessing my wifi?

Someone cracked our office’s WiFi protected with WPA2 and 13 random alphanumeric character. My password is gibberish like huf3452126ygkHow can this happen? Well… One of the IT guy of our company typed the WiFi password to the mentally disabled office boy’s mobile phone. The IT guy did not suspect that our office boy can reveal the password. And our office boy somehow can remember the password while being typed and told the password to everyone he knew. How come a mentally disabled dude remember 13 random alphanumeric characters?? I don't know. Even normal person would struggle to remember it.Therefore lots of illegal WiFi access and data breach occurred for a year or so and the damage costs us a lot of money. One day I decided to changed the old router to a brand new router and I see there are more devices connecting than the number of devices available at our site. Our company was small and I knew every WiFi capable device in the premise. That means someone hacked to my network. And after a series of invetigation I knew who the culprit are and it turns out that the compounds security rangers plus many others are accessing our network. So I have devised an evil revenge plan: give all the rangers WiFi password and set the signal strength to low. So they can access Internet while my real network is secure behind a firewall. And with signal strength set to low the rangers will gather in front of my office to use WiFi online. That's the best punishment! Now we got rangers sitting in front of our compound every night at the cost of WiFi access, which is essentially free considering our plan is unlimited.PS: our office boy is still working with us till I write this answer.

Is it illegal to paint something that I see online painted by someone else?

It's only illegal if you would present your painting as being original, without mentioning the painting you copied. You can very well present it as a copy. It all becomes more complicated if you intend to sell your painting. In that case, the best thing to do is contact the painter of the original painting (or its heir) and tell what you're intending. Either he (or she) is honoured, and you come to some kind of arrangement, or he doesn't want you to exhibit and/or sell the painting and than you expose yourself to legal pursuit.A painter has the same exclusive rights under U.S. Copyright law as writers or musicians. Read more : http://www.ehow.com/list_6598138_copyright-laws-paintings.html But copyrights may be different from one country to another. It also depends on cultural background and context. For instance, in 18th century Japan it was considered an honour for an artist to be copied.Copying of artworks is often a very difficult question. It's not allways obvious an artist is copying. With the overwhelming amount of images circulating in the press and on the internet it's not easy to say on the first hand which image is an original, and which one is a copy. In many cases artists take an image or part of an image and rework it, turning it into something different, considering it as their own creation. You see that for instance with artists like Andy Warhol with his soup cans and photos of Marilyn Monroe. Andy Warhol faced a series of lawsuits from photographers whose work he appropriated. However, Warhol's works are generally held to be non-infringing, despite being clearly  appropriated, because "the public is unlikely to see the painting as sponsored by the soup company or representing a competing product.  Paintings and soup cans are not in themselves competing products",  according to expert trademark lawyer Jerome Gilson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis... What was the stupidest reason for which you were punished in school?

This one is a Shocker!!!I was in the 7th grade and we had a substitute for our English classes for a week. The ladydidn't teach us anything. She was young and she kept flirting with the young guys,,!!!ughh!!! The guys were more than happy to welcome her and telling her tales of their bravery and heroism..It's funny when I think of that now!!So we i.e. the girls, left trying to get her attention to the course after two days and started taking it as a free period and gossiped among ourselves. After around 10 minutes she got up from her chair and said in a mocking tone-Oh!!!Gossip in my class!!!You girls think you are really smart!!Stand up on the bench!!All of you!!Noww!!!I was really very angry at that time. Some girls started crying. The boys laughed as they pretended to see what's inside our skirts!!It was humiliating. She could see that I was fuming with anger.She-What were you gossiping?I-NothingThen ,an asshole of a guy, I have always hated, got up and said-M'am,she is not answering you because you are a woman!!!She doesn't respect you m'am!!Then there was a round of 'oooohh's from the guys!!Her face grew red and then she calmly told me to get down. She told me to put my hands on the desk and thenSmacked my hands with the wooden duster till all the other girls started crying!!!P.S-I didn't flinch and didn't attend her class for the rest of the week.Meanwhile,i got signatures of all the girls and even some boys of the class on an application to get another substitute teacher for the subject to the principal. The Miracle- I was going to the principal with the application on the next monday.I entered the English class and heard my friends talking in whispers. She was allegedly found making out with two army men in the teachers staffroom on Saturday. And was sent packing, out of the campus on Sunday!!!Ha ha!!

What is a reason that Google doesn't punish viral blogging sites with no original content, like BuzzFeed or ViralNova?

I agree with Guillermo Lamphar's answer, in that BuzzFeed does have original content - not very deep like say the Washington Post, but certainly original. Second, people really like viral content - that's why it's viral to begin with - it's funny, nostalgic, pulls at your emotional strings, cute, etc.Google tries to punish results that don't serve what users are searching for - people go to these sites for that specific type of content, so Google doesn't punish it. What Google tries to punish is content providers that blatantly steal content or do tricky things like copy and paste identical (or near identical) content around the web to trick people to coming to their page when they didn't write the content themselves. That description doesn't apply to content farms like Demand Media ("How to Tie a Tie" content) nor to Viral Shops like BuzzFeed ("10 Cereals Only Moms with Kids in The 80's Could Love" content).

How should I punish my daughter for getting a "B" on report card?

My daughter is 15, going on 16 in the 10th grade and I was stunned when I saw her report card—she got a “B” in Geometry. That is not acceptable in my household. I want her to be like my oldest son who is a senior and is in the top 2% of his class. She will have 2 hours of tutoring daily in Geometry and I have been thinking of a proper punishment to start next week and here is what I am thinking:

I don't believe in spanking and so I'm thinking about 6 months of her being grounded: No electronics (no cell phone, computer, TV) and if she uses the internet for school purposes she must be monitored constantly by either her father or I. No friends, no activities outside of school and when the family goes out, she must stay home and write a report and show us when we get back to prove that she was working.

I’m also thinking about taking the door off her room and removing everything except essential clothes and academia.

She has not been punished yet and I need some help deciding on what the punishment will be. Like I said, she will get 2 hours of tutoring 6 days a week in Geometry but punishment will teach her that a "B" is not acceptable and I need help deciding exactly what to do.
