Galaxy S3 Restarts When Dropped

I've dropped my tablet into the water. It keeps restarting. What is the chance of saving it?

I can tell you a little story:A friend of mine accidentally dropped his smartphone in a pool, it was completely submerged, after very quickly picking it up....the most immediate advise we got from both the web and those so called "experts" was:a) DO NOT turn on the device (which I think you have done already, sadly). If you turn it on, electricity starts to flow possibly short-circuiting stuff and damaging the device. This is because most water can conduct electricity to certain level, because it has salts and other stuff diluted (unless it is distilled water).b) If possible take out the battery, to, again,  protect it from turning on.  Dry everything  with a towel as best as you can.c) Drop the device and battery into a bowl (or a bowl for each) or recipient full or RICE, yes, RICE grains...so, the device kind of stays in the middle completely surrounded by RICE...like floating in RICE ..I think you get the idea.d) Leave it there for a couple of days in a dry environment and getting as much sunlight (for the heat) as possible.Explanation: RICE will absorb humidity, sun heat will help with water evaporation and whatever humidity is left there will be absorbed by the RICE grains. After a few days, take it out of the rice bowl, put in the battery and turn it on.There is a high possibility that, if it was not damaged initially with the immersion in water, and now, full dry. It will work fine.Sadly, if something was damaged by a short-circuit when turning it on initially, after it became wet or  while it was wet (at least some parts...), then your device is damaged for good.In my friend's case, his phone turned on perfectly after a few days of drying in RICE grains and worked perfectly.   But, that was just his case.If you decide on trying this, AT YOUR OWN RISK,  let us know how it works.Good luck.

Why won't my galaxy s3 send or receive texts?

I've had my gs3 for about 5 months now and it's always been perfectly fine! But now it is messing up like crazy! Weird things are happening like the screen won't turn off and small stuff like that. But most importantly, it won't let me send or receive texts! When I text someone, it always fails sending the first time. Then I hit retry and it sends this time but then I can never receive them! I tried restarting, taking the battery out, I have no clue what to do! And also, I never dropped it. It also has a very protective case on it so its very safe. If you know how to fix this problem, please help!

Why is my Galaxy S5 so slow?

It's not Sammy's fault. All phones do this. Apple is no different. The tech term is called 'cache'. Why? 2 things. 1 most users don't know it and 2 they don't tell you because they want to sell you another phone anyway. In iOS it's called the dreaded 'Other', not sure what it's called on Adroid OS these days. What you do not realize is every game, every score, every level, every text, every social media status update, every internet search, every everything just doesn't go into thin air--it's still in the phone. See the pic for the example. FB in my phone is only 109mb in size for the app. The catch? It's holding 1.2gb worth of stuff and content. That's the kind of stuff that slows phones down. Bottom line, whatever you use your phone for, it's gotten bloated and fat and needs to go on a diet. Offloading pics, vids, clearing internet cache are a just a few steps but Google 'cleaning' a Sammy S5 for better options. Worst case, you'll have to do what we all have to do once in a while. Totally erase the phone back to factory and reinstall stuff one at time to keep the fat and bloat out. Best luck.

Why did the screen on my Samsung Galaxy S3 blackout and did not reboot?

This is usually a result of water/physical damage. If you previously dropped the phone in water or just dropped it this may be the after affect. Alternatively your battery may need to be replaced or there is a major hardware issue and the phone will need to be repiared, this is usually about $70 if done by Samsung.

My Samsung Galaxy S screen has turned green - how do I fix it?

My friend unfortunately I have bad news for you, while your display still works it is permanently damaged. There is no fixing this issue, there is only replacing the screen with a new one. What has happened is the display has been damaged below the first layer of glass, you cannot see the damage because the front glass is covering it, by removing the front glass you will be able to see the damage. It must be a minor crack in your LED, small enough to only distort the display and not make it go out completely. But its only a mater of time before the device gets bumped to hard or dropped and it will finish the small crack and make the display stop working completely. Its time for a new screen. Galaxy s3 white line straight down centre of the screen?

Not really too bothered if it's kerput. I've upgraded but still use it here and there for the camera and music etc.
Was just wondering if it's anything easy to fix or would it not be worth the hassle?
Just a bright white line in the middle of the screen, running top to bottom whenever the screen is illuminated.
Sits over all apps, net, homescreen, lock screen etc.
Anybody any idea?
