Garage Door Frozen Shut. Should I Call In Tomorrow

Heater thermostat wont turn on in one room?

1. Check you thermostat to make sure you have 24 volts ac. output.
2.No voltage it could be either transformer or thermostat.
3.Voltage than it could be a hydronic valve.
4.Check at the valve for 24 volts.
5.Got voltage at the valve solenoid, faulty solenoid.
IS THIS A HOT WATER SYSTEM?????????????
You do not have a voltage tester?
Ok it's an oil furnace but is it forced air, baseboard radiator heat.
click on the link below read WHAT HYDRONIC OR [ hot water ] Heating System
6.If your getting 24 volts leaving the thermostat you should have a hydronic valve to open
and close on the baseboard heat it take 24 volts to open the valve. Sometimes they get stuck
or have a loose wire(you need a volt meter) try tapping on the valve body with a hammer.

Can I leave my fire exit door open? My neighbour went off on me and told me to keep it shut.

Yes you can.It is a fire exit door, it is for leaving in the event of a fire. You must have at least two exits from a building to meet code. They are not primary exits. They may lead onto others property which means they may only be used for emergencies to exit a building. They may not be blocked off or restricted in any way. But they may be opened and left open. The designation of emergency fire exit usually indicates it accesses an area which normal entrance or exiting is not permitted, like onto someone elses property. As far as having it open, it is no different than a window which opens onto a neighbors property. It is permitted, your neighbor may prefer his privacy, but that doesnt make a difference.Call your local fire department, they will explain it to you that it is not there to protect the spread of fire, but for you to get out in an emergency.

My gas oven won't turn off?

You need to turn off the gas. To do that pull the stove away from the wall very slowly and carefully. If you do it too fast the pipe could come off and gas would leak in your house. Once you can see and access the gas valve handle, turn it until it stops. Once you do that, try to turn the burner on to make sure the gas is off. Tomorrow I would call someone who can fix it because it could be dangerous.
