Genetics - Can An Affected Mother Have All Affected Children

How will my children be affected? Question about heredity?

Thanks for your excellent answer! After doing some Mendelian figuring, I believe I can say with relative certainty that the mode of inheritance can't be autosomal dominant or X-linked dominant, because, if this were the case, it would've been impossible for my dad (who is 55 and enitrely unsymptomatic) to produce a child *with* the disorder. I don't even mention my mother, because her family has no history of the disorder, which implies no X-linked recessive inheritance. From my reasoning, the only possible way my unaffected father could've produced an affected son is if he's a *carrier,* and if a male carrier produces a male child with symptoms, the only inheritance pattern I can discern that could account for this is autosomal recessive. Of course, there is a new mystery - my mom must've provided a corresponding mutant allele. If this is the case, why has her family never had a history of the phenotype? Even I have to admit, it's all incredibly fascinating.

Genetics - Can an affected mother have all affected children?

If the mother passes on this trait to all her offspring but non of her sons pass it on to their children, then mitochondrial inheritance is a possibility. If it doesn't matter whether or not any grandchildren are affected, then dominant autosomal inheritance could also be a possibility. I suppose dominant X-linked could also be a possibility but that would also depend on whether or not any grandchildren are affected.

Do genes affect the time of which the mother's daughter have her period?

Yes, genes always play a role in genetics, especially with a mother;s offspring. Her daughter will most likely get her period around the age her mother did, as I did.. BUT REMEMBER - everyone is different ! So even though the daughter may start at a similar age as your mother, that does not mean the daughter's period will become irregular like her mother's. The daughter should just keep an eye on her period and everything going on with it, and see what happens, because, as I said before, EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT ! :D Hope this helps ! :)

A chip off the old block, a kid inherits a multitude of his or her parents' traits, such as eye and hair color. But new evidence suggests that parents may also pass on a common virus to their offspring hereditarily.Researchers estimate that one of every 116 newborns may have human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) infections that originated when the virus inserted its genetic material into that of their parents' DNA.HHV-6 is the virus responsible for roseola—a mild childhood infection resulting in high fevers and occasionally associated with a rash.In rare cases the infection is accompanied by seizures as well as respiratory and gastrointestinal complications.By age three, nearly all children have acquired the virus, most likely passed through the saliva of caretakers or other kids.About 1 percent of all infants in the U.S. are born with asymptomatic infections. Scientists have long believed that they were infected in utero when viral particles from their pregnant mothers crossed the placental barrier. But a recent study published in Pediatrics documents a new mechanism for infection in which HHV-6 integrated into parental DNA is passed on at conception. So yes, if the father has herpes it can give it to the baby because to make a baby his genital has to be uncovered to make the baby so the mother could have it too.But if it’s an artificial process then is unlikely to give it to the baby because it’s a skin blood disease so it is not spread like this. But to be sure some people take some treatments to make the virus less contagious and to minimizing it at maximum.I know about one that never failed from the time that i first prescribed till now.Is a treatment based on plants. It is actually more like a diet. You can reduce the herpes outbreaks even to the point when you will no longer have to worry about it in some interesting ways is the combinetions between resveratrol, curcumin and quercetin. Does It Affect Children If One or Two of their Parents are Homosexual?

i actually have no suggestions on the subject of how a infant is affected, yet my mom got here out of the closet while i became into 18, and it became into this type of alleviation to work out her finally happy. She has been residing along with her companion for the previous 9 years, and now i'm only overjoyed to have the means to furnish my babies the abililty to look previous variations and notice "love" as a universal emotion. Now, i'm now LDS, (at present switched over) and various of human beings have asked me if this has replaced my opinion of my mom. and admittedly the respond is not any. I definitely have continuously stated that i'll bypass away the remarkable to choose as much as the Lord himself, and my mom is definitely a noticeably religious person. My husband has in no way met her, and in June she would be ready to be here for the 1st time. He grew up for sure believing that homosexuality became right into a sin and disgusting, so I definitely have had to prepare him. we live in a somewhat small conservative community, so he hasn't met very many people who're gay, yet he's beneficial he will take care of himself appropriatley. His babies (my step babies) are a splash older, and that i'm attempting to make sure the thank you to attitude the region. i want them to be open minded, yet on the comparable time, it somewhat is substantial for them to appreciate my mom as their grandma. it is going to be exciting, yet in any experience, i think of as long as there's a favorable environment, there is not any reason to be stricken approximately how a infant is being raised.

The most visible permanent effect is paralysis for a subset of those who had the virus.  That being said the paralysis is caused by nerve death, not the continued presence of the virus.  A child of somebody who had polio will not have any trace of the virus.  It can't be said to have no effect, especially to the immune system if the virus was present during pregnancy. In case you are wondering how common this paralysis is I found this:"Symptoms vary from mild, flu-like symptoms to life-threatening  paralysis. In one to two per cent of cases, polio affects the nerves,  resulting in paralysis of the arms, legs or the diaphragm (that controls  breathing). Between two and five per cent of people who develop  paralytic polio will die. Half of those who survive will have permanent  paralysis"**Polio and post-polio syndrome - Better Health Channel

Most (western) children don’t know about what their parents do for work until they are older. Most mother’s who do sex work and have children try to give them a better chance at life than they had so most of the money they make will go towards paying for better schools than they may otherwise have access to.From personal experience, the lifes of the children of sex workers I have seen, met or know are better off than their parents were. Where they’re parents had little to nothing growing up, the children grow up living a life equivalent to lower middle to middle class.Remember people who do sex work are not strangers in some far off land, they are your next door neighbours, your parents at the PTA, your best friends, your work mates, your friends of friends, your shop assistants and people you walk past everyday. They are.. We are general public like you. So are our families.

It can. So can moms.   You get grnes from both.  Height, as far as i onow, is not a genetically male dominant trait.   If dad is tall you MIGHT end up tall but you have just as much chance of being short like mom.

What's means down syndrome? how can it affect on children?

Down Syndrome is a genetic mutation... a third chromosome where there should be two (located on the 21st chromosome). It typically causes facial markers, such as a flattened nose bridge, wide-set eyes, short fingers and toes, lowered ears, low muscle tone, and pointy, wide-spaced teeth. It also typically causes a range in mental capabilities. Some children are mildly affected, and others can be very severe. I work at a preschool for children with disabilities, and several of the children I work with have Down Syndrome. Some typical personality aspects are stubborness and a tendency to not be motivated easily. They are typically very social people and very sweet. The downfall to that is that they can be taken advantage of because they are very trusting of others and don't understand that other people may be making fun of them. Children with Down Syndrome have great potential... they just need love like everyone else!

I have seen my friend's lives so closely, who were bought up by single parent, and have seen the repercussions. definitely kids are been affected with separation but more of this, parents start behaving abnormally, which affect kids most and make them helpless on thinking why can't they live like "NORMAL FAMILY".However we can justify, but couldn't ignore mother and father both plays a different supporting role in kid’s life.Period before separation, when parents are fighting over property or kid, affects kid most.Environment at home gets disturbed with less communication with kids, because parents are engaged in their own life, then they pretend they are taking care equally !!When single parents, become less social, so that one should not ask them about their spouse. When they become over cautious for kid, assuming they have only kid for support to live life. They start defending kid, even when in kid’s friend circle or in the playground.Learning from their own life, they teach lesson to their kid, not to be in a relation, as it tasted bitter to them and kid dishonor relations. When they segregate them from society, limiting their friend circle. So one should not ask about kid’s family. When hey teach kid not to be family oriented and focus only on self !!
