Getting A Candy Stain Out Of A Jewelry Box

What did you get/give for Valentine's Day?

Even though you missed Valentines day for him, there is always March 14. Which is Steak and BJ Day. Some random guy a couple of years ago came up with this idea. He thought that all the women get treated so special on V-Day, that he wanted a day set aside where the ladies treat the men really well.

My boyfriend got me a necklace with matching earrings. Took me out to eat to a Mexican rest. Then we went to a bar to hear a local band play. Then we went home and watched movies.

I got him a grooming kit, which he has been asking for since Christmas. He is a skittles fanatic so I got him a big bag of skittles, and 2 heart shaped candy boxes one with m&m's and the other with skittles. Then while he was at work earlier in the day, I cleaned the entire house from top to bottom.

I am going to be celebrating Steak & BJ day for him, even though I won't be getting him a gift. I will just cook him a really nice steak meal with all the trimmings, and of course you know the BJ part. LOL!

So you could wait til March 14th. I don't think the stores will have the appropriate card for that day, since many people don't know of it. But there are a few sites you can print them from....

Sterling silver necklace turned dull in swimming pools?

Polish with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. If that doesn't take the tarnish off, here are some tips from a professional silversmith -

Gently wash and dry your silver immediately after use. Use a non-lemon-scented phosphate-free detergent and, to avoid water spots, towel-dry using a soft cotton dish towel or Selvyt cloth. Silver that is used frequently and washed in this manner will require infrequent tarnish removal.

Windex with vinegar or a liquid, non-abrasive, unscented, aloe-free hand sanitizer, such as Purell, may remove the tarnish. Use a large cotton ball and rotate it regularly to expose unused surfaces, as elements in the tarnish itself can be very abrasive; then dry the piece with a Selvyt cloth or cotton dish towel.

Silver easily scratches, so it is important to use a non-abrasive cloth, such as those tiny squares that come with eyeglasses, or with Selvyt, as hermansilver suggests.

After you've succeeded in cleaning your necklace, avoid wearing it in the pool again, as chlorine damages silver (and most other jewelry).

Keep your silver jewelry in a cloth-lined box or a in a velvet pouch, when it is not in use. Store in a cool, dry place because moisture and warmth make it tarnish.
