Depends. If you are going up there to take the ASVAB and process, approximately 24 hours. If you are going up just to take an ASVAB, it can be as long as you need. Look if you f'ed up, just tell your recruiter and he'll let you wait until you can pass your drug test. Also you recruiter, if he is following SOP, will test you before you leave for MEPS and if you fail, will send you home until you can pass one.

I really don't think youll be tested for a cashiers job... but drink plenty of water/orange juice in the meantime just incase... Then if you do get caught it will only be very very low levels, so you can just say you were at a party and people were smoking in the same room

Drink protein shakes.Water, drink lots of water. Stay fully hydrated. If you are high its easy to get too distracted to remember to drink enough water. No, you don't get drug tested in the DEP. But that won't matter if the cops bust the party and hit you with a possession of marijuana charge. That possession charge will get you kicked out of the DEP and disqualify you from rejoining if you are convicted or are forced to do drug diversion in exchange for a dismissal. If your friend is really your friend he'll fully understand that you can no longer smoke weed due to your career. If he doesn't understand then he's not your friend. It may be his party but it's your career, not his. ADDED: I guess Chosen One taught me something new by saying the Navy drug tests people while in the DEP. The Army doesn't do drug tests in the DEP because it's not in our budget to use our prescreen test kits on people in the Future Soldier Program, they're meant to test people who are going down to process for the first time at MEPS to make sure they don't come up hot there where they will be permanently disqualified. But my original point still stands, don't risk your career just to make your friend happy and if you can't do that you might want to reevaluate your plans with the military no matter what branch you're joining. I've seen too many Soldiers kicked out because they couldn't stay away from pot while they were on leave or even went as far as visiting a dealer a few miles off-base.
