Getting Braces In A Week Any Help

I'm Getting Braces Next Week, HELP!!!?

Okay color wise stay away from any yellows, browns, or clear(they get stained with food and it looks dirty).
Flossing is WICKED important, trust me, you have to string the floss through your braces in order to get it done :]
The little christmas tree looking utensil they give you to clean the food out of your braces will become your best friend.
Omg! and the wax, you will definitley need, ask for extra's when you go in.
Brush your teeth all the time and make sure to do it at funky angles so you can clean all the areas around your brackets, you dont want to have yellow stains around where they were!
I just got my braces off and I wish I followed these tips more lol

Getting braces in about a week!!!! Plz help I'm begging you!!!!?

i played the flute and piccalo in high school....braces dont hurt on a scale of 1-10 puttting them in doesnt hurt at all so thats about a 2....after you get them for about 8hrs it will hurt not really pain more of discomfort....you will be fine you will find that playing the flute will be easier because u will have a perfect bite in about a wk
after the first week u will see the difference in your teeth
just stick to the list of wat not to eat so that you dont pop any brackets off..they dont hurt they glue them to your teeth...

Step 1: tell them that you r sensitive to pain they will numb u up really good.

step 2: they will use a plastic thingy to hold your mouth open to dry your teeth so that the glue sticks

step 3: after your mouth is dry they will put the glue on each tooth then place the brackets on and the rings (the caps on the back 4 teeth upper and lower) to hold the wire

step4: your mouth will have to dry somemore...then they will have you pick wat color you want for the little tiny rubberbands on the bracktes that hold the wire in place

next they will place the wire on the brackets and start to turn the little screw in the back thats wat keeps pressure on your teeth to straightn them....not much pain there

then they will cut the excess wire your not going to feel it poking you in the gums because your mouth will be numb so stick your finger in there to see if you feel any sharp edges if you do the dentist will cut more wire off

he will give you wax pinch a small piece off roll it in a ball and put it where the wire rubs against your jaw still no pain

when he is done you will get to leave....thats when you need to have 2 tylonall ready pop those as soon as you leave that way when the numbness goes away the pain killers will be working and when they ware off you should be good

you will need to eat really good before you go

after go get some ice cream (not a cone) soft serve
the coldness feels good after you are done

hope i could help and answerd all of your questions
bye

and don't worry

I'm getting braces next week?

Well for me, they put these plastic things in my mouth that stretched it out so they could put the braces in and that hurt. The whole treatment differs, depending on how your teeth are currently. As for colors, I think anything except yellow really. Except I got clear ones on top so most people can't tell at first that I have braces. The dentists gave me a list of stuff I couldn't eat because it might break the braces (although I have broken those rules, and haven't broken them once). Things like popcorn, hard-shell tacos, jawbreakers, gumballs, etc. It hurts and feels awkward for a few days but of course you get used to it.

I am getting braces in a week. Do you have any advice that you wished you knew before you got braces?

My advice is to seriously reconsider getting them.If you are happy with your teeth, or could learn to be happy with them, rethink this. The first week I put them on, I could not stop crying. Gums were sore, teeth were sore, even tongue was sore. Had many cuts on the inside of my mouth (still do). Couldn’t even eat apple sauce, because when tiny bits of apple rubbed against my teeth, it hurt. Brushing was equivalent to torture. The taste of metal took a long time to go away. Maybe it hasn’t gone away for me, I’ve just gotten accustomed to it.Just about any sort of food will get stuck between the wires and brackets. Reconsider how you will deal with social situations, school, work, outings, places where brushing will not be readily available. Tongue will be sore after all the work trying to remove stuck food.Speech will likely change too. You might develop a lisp. Severity will depend on what other instruments are added. For me, I have a TPA (transpalatal arch), which is a metal wire stretching from one side of the roof of my mouth to the other. Furthermore, I have bite blockers (tiny devices placed behind my top two front teeth, to prevent me from biting down on the brackets). I would say they are the most uncomfortable part of my experience.Bite turbosTranspalatal archMost importantly, reconsider how your confidence might change. I personally thought I would look fine with braces on, however I was not prepared to see my face change to such an extent. My confidence dwindled the very second I saw (and heard) myself. The speech impediment goes away for about a few months, but if you are a young person, consider how having braces will impact more social aspects of your life. (If you are in a relationship, consider what sort of activities you will want to (or have to) do away with while wearing braces. Just check out this transpalatal arch again). If you’ve considered all this, and still want to go ahead, good luck. If not, depending on the severity of your case, maybe you could accept your teeth and get by without all this hassle?

I'm getting my braces off next week?

I just got them off today and i am not going to lie it did hurt. it did take about an hour but there were 3 other people getting their braces off too. so that could be why :) Well i had molar bands and those reallllyyyy hurt to get off and my gums were bleeding but then getting the brackets off i felt nothing didnt even realize that they were all unglued.

First they make sure your teeth are all good and Then they clip off all the brackets and molar bands. And then they let you rinse

then for me they took x-rays

then they SCRAPED the glue off and that felt uncomfortable and after that then they sanded it all off
after that they polish your teeth and then make sure your teeth are the right shape and not chipped, and they clean them off after.

After that they took impressions and then i picked my retainers color. Then they sing

The next appt. you get your retainers and final pictures.

HELP! i'm getting braces on in a week and i haven't gotten spacers. is this normal?

i've made an appointment to get my braces on in a week, so they are going to put them on then.
i only had one appointment, they took x-rays and told me i needed braces on.
they said i'm going to get them on for my next appointment, which is in a week.
my friend goes to the same place as i do and she got spacers before she got her braces on. i haven't gotten them, i haven't even gotten a mold yet!
they told me that this next appointment i will get my braces, but is that true or are they really going to put spacers in?
if i don't get the spacers in will i get molar bands? and will i be able to have braces without molar bands?
HELP ME!!!

What should one know before getting braces?

The first 1-2 weeks after they are applied will hurt BAD. After that you will only feel mild discomfort after monthly adjustments. But once the pain goes away, braces are very comfortable and you won't even know you're wearing them, as they'll just feel as if they are part of your teeth. Life is really no different with braces. I’m 21 & I’m college & wear them. I’m not self conscious of them at all, as I have great oral hygiene. The ONLY way braces really affect my life is when it comes to eating some hard foods & not being able to chew gum- which can be annoying on those days when I have a little bad breath. I Either gotta get my hands on mouthwash or keep brushing.

I’m getting my retainers a week after I’ve had my braces removed. Will my teeth have moved by then?

A2AYou have nothing to worry about, your teeth though are quite mobile as just had your braces removed. One week is enough time and will not cause you a problem of misalignment. Just observe proper diet, dont eat to much of hard foods, you have to avoid accidental heavy bitting on hard food this will cause something that is not good on your teeth and its alignment. If there are gradual movements on your teeth, it will become noticeable only in few months. They dont misalign in a very short period of time. Just relax, CIAO!
