Getting Braces Off Early

Getting braces off early?

Ok so let me say this it has been about 4 years now that I have had my braces, I am in 8th grade and I had them taken off in 5th grade and 1 month later putting them back on again, this time having a bottom set too cuz my orthodontist f***** my teeth the first time. I'm tired of them I'm supposed to get them off this December but he said a few months ago would get them off this summer. How do I convince my parents to let me get them off early I don't want to go into high school with them on?!

Would getting my braces off 3 months early be bad?

im supposed to get my braces off end of august/early september but i really need them off by the end of june. my orthodontist said he cant take them off yet because he wants to finish straightening up my bottom back two molars, besides that everything else is perfect.
if i got them off at the end of june would that be bad? or could he just take off the top, if its the bottom molar he wants to work on?

Taking my braces off early?

Yes, you can have your braces removed early; however, you will need to consult with your orthodontist for your reasoning as to why you want to do so. I don't know if your orthodontist will want to remove your braces six months early (that's a lot of time); however, I do feel that your orthodontist will feel obligated to speed your treatment using different procedures and orthodontic methods available (using stronger arch wires, elastics, ect.) to help you have them removed say a few months earlier. If you provide your orthodontist with a set month that you are taking your vacation, your orthodontist can re-shape their treatment plan for your to make your treatment more rapid.

If your orthodontist gives you a retainer once your braces are removed, then no, your teeth will not shift back to their original positions. The purpose of a retainer is to "retain" (hold) teeth into a set position so they will not move. If you stick to wearing your retainer on a daily basis, your teeth will refrain from shifting. Even if your orthodontist feels they cannot speed your treatment up enough to have your braces removed by the time of your trip, he/she can make sure you have them off either before your junior year or at the beginning of your junior year of high school. It all depends on his/her skill as an orthodontist and if they feel comfortable enough to speed your treatment for you. Good luck!

Should I get my braces off early?

Even after you get your braces off you'll have to wear a retainer to keep them straight.

If you've delt with it this long then I would leave them on until the doctor says you can take them off.

There is a product call InvisiLine. I looks like a plastic retainer that cover all your teeth. You can't see it when its in and can take it out to eat and brush your teeth or whenever necessary. You go to the doctor every 2 weeks and they give you a new set (upper and lower). Each new set has been made to slightly adjust your teeth over the next two weeks.

Here's a web site, i haven't read it but I'm sure it'll tell you a little more than what I've recalled.

What happens if I get my braces off early?

So I've had braces since June of 2007. I was supposed to get them off this past June, but my orthodontist said that I needed more time. I HATE my braces and just want them off now! He thinks January would be a good time to get them off, but I'm thinking of asking him to take them off in October or November. He says if I get them off early I'll need braces again later in life, but if it's only a few months early, does it really make a difference?

If I take my braces off early will I still get a retainer?

I have had my braces for over 26 months now (when I was originally told around 18 months.).

I am very very tired of having braces. I am tired of the pain, tired of the mouth sores from friction. After the first year they were strait and the second year there hasn't been much movement. I am happy with how strait they are now. Plus I am starting to get other dental problems like cavities because its hard to clean well around all this junk. I had a tooth die and needed a root canal ($1000 + 700 for crown) and the endodontist told me the tooth probably died from shifting with the braces. I really can't stress more how much I want to remove them. But I still want to retain where they are at. When I go back in a week I am going to pay them off in full. If I ask for them to be removed early, will they still give me a retainer since I paid them off? or can they weasel out of it somehow? I just want to know my rights here.

Thanks.

What can happen if I take off my braces too early?

Okay so I got braces as an adult, and had to pay out of pocket for it. When I went I had serious teeth problems over crowding, cross bite, protrusion etc. Just about every problem you can think of. Now my teeth look straighter. But there is still a cross bite issue and still a protrusion issue, not as bad as it once was, no where near. This is definitely much more survivable cosmetically wise. BUT im worried about taking them off when their not perfect, and I'm not sure why my orthodontist is pushing for it? I'm not a difficult patient...I come on time to all appointments, if canceled its canceled early, and I often wait in the chair up to an hour no complaining...I know she's over-booking, as I see my appointment overlapped with others. Basically, I'm worried that since now my contract ended, and I paid for my braces in full that's 2 years plan. Now she wants to get them off and kick me out, at least that's what it feels like. I'm planning on getting a second doctors opinion. And I managed to get her to admit that there are still problems so she gave me two extra months to see how it goes. Which already they've shifted dramatically, still not done moving yet. How can they be ready if their so obviously not? And she order my retainers before she gave me two extra months, and now my teeth shifted, shouldn't she be ordering new retainers the paper clearly stated it is important that teeth DO NOT SHIFT! It all feels so rushed to me. I'm wondering has anyone been through something similar or what happens if I do get them off? She says the retainers will still be doing some work since they will be glued to the inside of my bottom teeth, but then what about the top teeth where there is still protrusion, what about my cross bite? She wouldn't admit fully to all these flaws but someone else who works with her did its not just in my head, as she is trying to make me feel. All in all I loved going there since I have been seeing real results but it feels like now she has all my money she just wants me out the door so she can get new people in :(

What happens if you get braces off too early?

if you remove braces before time, your teeth will go back to old place. But retainers can help you to maintain where you have stopped treatment.

How much does it cost to get braces off early?!?

I know that your teeth look straight but they will be literally perfect after you get them off once your time is done. I did the same thing but I thought my teeth were already good and they really weren't you'll love them after words. I honestly think you should keep them its allot of money to dish out for nothing. Your teeth will move if you get them off because it already has moved them your bone is very weak and needs the braces to finish moving them in the the right place and then you will have to keep them on for a few months after they are perfect so the bone can heal without the teeth going back. Like I said tho it is smartest to keep them I promise you will get used to them and they will look better once the teeth straighten up, You will love the results and you will notice after words that your teeth were not that good before so please try to keep them.

Can I get my braces off three months early?

Your orthdontist has to decide !!!!!!!!!!
