Just think of things he likes. You don't have to get something flashy for him to like it! My Aunt makes my cousins' "birthday/Christmas boxes." They're grown and have their own families, so they're hard to shop for now... So she'll get them tools, shirts, socks, undies, makes their favorite cookies for them, other snacks they love, and gets silly gifts for them too--my one cousin has a thing with duct tape, so she bought him like 5 different colors of duct tape, and she just fills a storage box up for them... No only are they useful, but I think it's sweet and shows she really knows her kids and what they like. So just think of thinks he likes or could use and fill a box. Clothes. Snacks. Could he use new, really comfy bedding? Does he like working on cars--maybe get him a gift certificate to AutoZone or something... Does he like sports?--get him memorbillia--if he likes, say, the Lakers, get him Laker PJ pants or something... Cutesy gifts -- does he like random kids toys like Play-Doh, squirt guns, paddleball toys? Personally, I think any kind of jewerly is cliche. And guys usually don't wear jewerly--if he does, then I guess that makes it slightly better, but... idk, jewerly is just really typical and it really doesn't take a whole lot of thought and it doesn't really show you KNOW that person and things they like.

What can happen at Disney that cannot as easily happen 10 minutes from your house? If you would let her go to a theme park 10 minutes away from your house, then I don't think you're saving her from anything by preventing her from going. The only thing you can gain from stopping her is showing her that you do not trust her judgement, which will only degrade your relationship with her. If something horrible happens to her 10 minutes from your house, you'll be able to get to her sooner, but if it's bad enough that she needs medical attention, you will still not be the best person to provide that. They do have great doctors in Florida. By not letting her go, you are also telling her you don't believe she can function as an adult, which in two years you will not have a choice but to let her do so. In parenting, I believe letting go and showing trust is also important. I'm glad she asked for your permission. At 19, I would have left and not told my parents. Will you blame yourself for letting her go to Florida if something bad happens to her? Would you blame yourself if it happened 10 minutes away? Are you exercising your last ounce of power by not letting her go, because you believe people will say you're a bad parent? I think we worry more about how other people will judge us for the choices we make than the actual choice itself. If you allow her to go, without thinking about what your friends or relatives would say if something happened to her, then you have made the decision on your own, instead of the pressure to be a perfect parent. Parents send their kids to schools that get shot up. No one called them bad parents. You should do what your instincts tell you, but really think about the true reason for the fear that is making you ask this question and if that fear is not warranted, then there's no reason to stop her.

Getting married after High School? Good or Bad?
Ok so me and my bf for 2 and a half years almost 3 months have been dating and we always jokes around about getting married. WE both don't see a problem with that, we love each other a lot. WE already made plans about where we would move and everything. Im a sr. and he is to. But i plan on going to a community college in the fall. But he need to finish up his other year of school. he missed a lot of days in school his sophomore year so he is going to finish that this summer. After he finishes his sophomore year again and a little bit of jr. year. *he got into a lot of fights over the first 2 months of his jr. year so he needs to finish that year to, we will both be attending south surban college and we both will transfer to Columbia downtown Chicago. We already know what we want to do. He wants to be either a art teachor or Music Teachor, and I want to be a TV Writer. *i know the economy may not seem like the best idea to major in those two things but we want to.* I think us would make as husband and wife, I do not see a problem with us wanting to get married after we are both done with High School. I was the first person to say i can see us getting married and he said "I do to." He said during our date night if i were to ever get pregnat in the last of sr year or when we go off to college he will help me out, but we both plan on us not being parents until we are done with school and we both have a stable house, and income. I plan on being on the pill when that time comes and he promises to use a condom to. Main problem is: Is their anything wrong with getting married in High School?

Trust me I have been in the Army for 7 years and a leather man is a great tool, I always have one on me when I am on duty.
