Girls And Guys Can I Apply For Modelling Or Acting

Is modeling/ acting a good career choice for girls?

The most successful ones don't get there by sleeping around. It is however hard work, long gruelling modelling sessions and sometimes limited pay. The competition is pretty rough. If you really want it and aren't hung up on it being some kind of romantic adventuresome life style it can be a good job for a while, but have something to fall back on when your looks fade.

Which is better, modeling or acting?

Hi! Well, both are pretty hard jobs but I would personally go the modeling route if I were in your position. Acting is a MUCH harder field- I disagree with Anna's statement that it pays better. Actually, I disagree with a lot of what Anna said. Anyway, you have to invest a lot more into it than you would for modelling. You need to have a lot of experience in community (and if you can swing it- regional) theatre, you need to take a lot of classes and workshops, you need to be really knowledgeable about acting, history of acting, you need to be really diverse, you should get a degree, etc. the competition is 100 times tougher. If you believe you have an really special talent for acting, consider it but still have a backup. Even the most talented, most beautiful actors run out of unemployment.

Forgive me if you've already considered all this, I don't know you personally so I just make a point of giving everyone my generic lecture so they know what they're getting into :) Acting is meaningful work as long as you can get the work.

For modelling, yes, competition is tough but it's easier (not saying it's EASY, just EASIER) than acting. I respect that Anna has shared her opinion and her cousin's experience- it's always good to warn people, but I'll expand and say that you don't HAVE to do dirty things to get work. Will it help you along? Oh sure. But if it's something you REALLY don't want to do, don't do it. It may be harder to get as much work but if you're really a great model, there's a good chance you'll still get work.

Now I'm glad you know that starting young is important. I really suggest you build your portfolio and nail down an agency now. If this is truly something you want to do as a career, now's a good time to start. Keep in mind you'll need something to fall back on for when you get older just like you would for acting. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email :)

Which is better, acting or modeling?

Good Choice Girl! You got the talent, use it! God gives gifts to be used! You have made a right choice.

Personally, I think that Acting is more rewarding, and it helps develop you as a person. It is more rewarding as well because you grow from the experience, get feedback from the audience, and it is a talent that when nurtured and taught, can bring you great glory later on in life. When your on stage, people notice how good you are.
When it comes to modeling, people are looking at how well you fit into a dress or model a piece of clothing. They are looking at the outside. If you look cute you'll sell their product or what ever they want other people to do. It a almost shallow career. After you hit a certain age you can not work anymore, unlike acting.

Thus I have come to my conclusion.

Do all beautiful girls in India opt for acting/modelling?

Quora is a platform to gain knowledge, you might also use it to get general public opinion but please do not ask such silly questions and make it a mess. Is it helpful to you in any manner?? Google can answer these things easily.. Why don't you Google about it and get stats. That wouldn't be a hard work..

Does anybody know manga about acting or modelling?

Acting:

Kodocha - about acting and some romance too.

Glass no Kamen - about a girl trying her best at acting.

Cat Street - the main girl used to be a childhood actress and eventually goes back to acting later on.

Modelling:

Tenshi Ja Nai! - main guy is actually a female model, she ends up sharing the same dorm room as him cause he's pretending to be a girl at an all girl's school.

Hana Kimi - there's an acting stint storyline in a volume or two of the manga. It's really good =)

Paradise Kiss - fashion and modelling - great anime.

Fashion:

Beauty Pop - incredibly talented at styling hair

Gokinjo Monogari - goes to a fashion school, romance too.

Music/Singer/Band

Kaikan Phrase - more the anime than the manga, but 4 hot guys make a band.

Beck - GREAT music anime!!

NANA - awesome hot romance and loads about bands =)

Full Moon wo Sagashite - main girl's dream is to become an idol

Love Celeb - main girl's dream is also to become an idol/singer *WARNING* loads of smut!

K-ON! - about 4 girls that join the music club at their school

La Corda D'oro - girl given the ability to play violin really well in order to join her school's classical music contest

Nodame Cantabile - main girl can play piano really well. Quirky main girl and really funny in general.

Also try:

Kare Kano - incoporates everything really. There's a site story about a play for a few chapters, a side character's father is a fashion designer, and another side character is in a famous band. Yep ^_^

Has anyone told you to try out modeling or acting due to your pretty face?

Thanks for the A2A.Well, when I was in India , I was never even called beautiful. Only when I moved to the US , did I realize that I can be considered attractive.I have never been suggested that I do modelling or acting and I think I know why :I am 5 feet tall. If I ever take up modelling , I would look like a misplaced 10 year old kid.My facial features are highly disproportionate.I cannot act. The last time I acted , I ended up putting the stage on fire (not a metaphor guys).I am extremely camera shy. The only expression I can make when the camera is pointed at me, is to smile. That's the extent of my acting.I guess I am just content being called beautiful or pretty or cute or whatever the slang is now-a-days !

My height 5.6 can I do modelling?

It is not a tough job to enter in modelling/acting/film industry. There are many tracks through which you can achieve your goal. But the thing is you must have money in your pocket to survive, in other words financial support of parents will make it easy to achieve what you want. Now lets discuss about personality factors, from my point of view a person with height around 5’9” will have more oppurtunities then 5’5” or 5’6”, the thing is height matters, but if you have good looks, talent, and better communication skills and hard working fact in your mind then you can beat anything in the industry. Every thing depends on hardwork and luck, the ratio is hardwork 40% and luck 60%. There is a great relationship between right time and right place “tumko sahi time mein sahi jagha pe hona zaroori h”. So these are some basic things a person must know before entering into the modelling industry.▪️Now lets know how can you enter into modelling industry? You can join top modelling schools of india like anupam kher actor prepares, film and television institute, national school of drama and many more. After completion of course of some months they will provide you auditions and teach you how to crack it.Secondly you can go to mumbai and meet some genuine casting directors and they will teach you and porovide you auditions. NOTE - the ratio of fake casting directors are more than genuine ones so be aware before taking out money from your pockets. And at last you can directly apply for auditions of modelling in mumbai.▪️THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MODELLING CAREER.modelling/acting is a kind of business, you must know how to deal with people, always remember you are selling your talent/skills/looks so always keep your rates high.If you have lots of money in your pockets and have talent, then take short cuts to reach the top, dont waste time by giving lots and lots of auditions. Auditions are necessary but only to some extent. And if you have lots of money in your pocket and donot have talent, then no shortcuts can help you, you just need to workhard. You have to change yourself on day to day basis, In terms of fitness and looks.Talent beats good looks. As a beginner a model has to spent lot of idol time.Your expectation donot always match reality.Models have to be responsible for their own work.Age doesn’t matter to be a model.I hope it will help you to some extent THANK YOU, Regards PARMEET BHATIA
