Alright, here it is:I don't know bout “smart” because I don't know what your goals are- whether or not this will help you with those depends on whether you want her to be happy, you want her to go out with you, you want her to like you back, etc. But I know the *considerate* thing to do, and that is yes, absolutely tell her.Because this is what always happens from the girl’s perspective:Dude is “a friend.” Becomes extra “friendly”- He talks to her extra, waits places for her a little longer than usual so he can walk beside her, maybe signs up for similar shifts or something- nothing quite outside the boundaries of platonic affection.Now, EITHER: Girl is interested. She guesses dude is interested but she doesn't want to overstep until there's a clearer sign. It is awkward until the guy just says he likes her.OR Girl is not interested. (Because this happens sometimes.) So girl does not reciprocate affection, but she doesn't stop being nice, either. Dude keeps doing his barely-still-just-friendly, obvious crushing behavior.Girl is not dumb. If she seems like she can't tell, it's usually an act.Now, EITHER: Girl puts a stop to crushing by saying sometime, “I don't want you to get the wrong idea… I'm not looking for a relationship right now, “ or some other tactful phrase. Dude INEVITABLY denies that he ever wanted anything more either- “Oh, no, of course that's not what I meant!” To resolve cognitive dissonance, he may even revise the narrative in his memory so he believes his own denial true. Now, instead of girl having totally reasonable emotion, she was vain and arrogant to think this guy was attracted to her.OR: Girl lets behavior play out. She plays dumb and only acts like every bit of attention he gives really is platonic, knowing full well he's reading everything but a straight rejection as encouragement but needing to avoid the above situation. When he finally asks her out a month or six months or a year later and finally she's able to refuse him, then she's “been leading him on.” Just by continuing to be a decent, moderately friendly human.It's Catch 22.Plus there's always the chance she'll be the love of your life and you'll miss out. This isn't a gender issue, kid. It's not even store policy. It's the LAW. You expect people to break the law for you. It's not her fault that the law exists. What you are mad about is that she isn't willing to risk her job and a fine so you can get a video game. Apparently, guys who work in that store are stupid enough to take the risk for you. This girl isn't, and good for her! If there's a sexist view to take on this, it would have to be that girls are intelligent enough to know better than to put their asses on the line for some punk kid, and guys are not. It doesn't matter if you think the law is stupid. It doesn't matter if SHE thinks the law is stupid. It doesn't even matter if your mother or the store owner thinks the law is stupid. The law is the law, and authorities monitor this stuff. A cashier selling to a minor would get fired and fined. That is the fact. It is selfish and rude of you to expect someone to break the law for your convenience. The answer is simple. Get your mom or dad to come along with you. Why is that a problem?

Hiya, sorry for posting this ridiculous question, I just want to make sure for certain my mates have got this completely wrong lol. Okay, I was talking to my mates about these girls in clubs that asked for a lighters. Anyway I was telling them because I thought it was really funny cos like i said I don't even smoke.
