I'm a teenage girl, and my father is forcing me to get my long hair cut so I can start looking "more professional." Do you agree or disagree with him? Why?

That depends.How long is your hair? And how old are you? Why, if you are a teenager, do you need to look “professional”? Do you keep your hair clean and well kept?Or are you one of those girls with the annoying habit of constantly tossing your hair from side to side or otherwise flipping it around and playing with it? Is it otherwise a pain in the ass for those around you?See, there might be valid reasons why your dad wants you to get it cut, aside from any thoughts of professionalism.You could consider cutting off a few inches if your hair is very, VERY long. That might be enough to make your dad happy if he’s willing to negotiate a little. You could also find attractive ways to keep it pinned up into a bun or in a French braid, or whatever, to make it look more, well, professional.The bottom line: If your dad is paying for your room and board and your education, then he has a right to expect a few things in return. As it happens, he finds your hair an annoyance, for whatever reason.I don’t know your dad, but if I were you, I’d do whatever it takes to keep the peace because if there’s a major confrontation, you will probably lose, one way or the other.
