Is Irene a nice first name for girls?
Whether it is "a nice first name" is something totally subjective. Therefore the only thing I can do is give you my personal opinion: YES, it IS "a nice first name for girls". ;) Apart from that it is a typically european or "western" name. Though I can assure you it is a relatively rare name. In my lifetime (59 years) there has been only one woman who had this name! Therefore one can assume that you can be quite sure that there are NOT many girls/women who bear this name. So, if you are out for a certain originality then you've got the right name here...If you want to know more about this name and it's popularity in diverse countries continue reading here: Meaning, origin and history of the name Irene

Is "Bellamy" a good first name for a baby girl?
I wouldn't, because it's a surname. The meaning of a given name is supposed to be the essence of who someone is; for example, mine means 'pearl'. So I believe that tells people WHO the bearer is. A surname though functions as a distinguisher. It tells people WHICH of many people with the same given name the bearer is, also which one family that person belongs to. A surname has no 'essence' meaning, being just the name of a place where the progenitor lived, or something such as occupation or notable feature or characteristic of the progenitor. (By the way, I don't yet know what my surname, from my husband, means, just that it was 'Hvostal' back in Slovakia.)So 'Bellamy' likely means 'beautiful friend': http://surnames.behindthename.co... but what's missing, if that's a given name, is who the beautiful friend is. Furthermore, using it as a given name would seem to link one's child to a stranger's family. I want instead the strongest connections with my children. When I was born, my parents gave me my mother's maiden name as a middle name, and I was upset about it, for all these reasons (just not yet well fleshed out in my mind yet), for my whole life. My brothers both had given names as middle names, so I had been singled out, given a strange middle name, and been attached by it to a different part of the family for no good reason. I guess it's unlikely your baby would grow up to be somebody like me who loves analyzing everything to death, :D and thus would pick apart to examine every choice you make, but then again you can't be too careful! :)
Can kirby be a girl name?
I like the name Kirby. But if my name was kirby Id probably hate it. I wouldnt name my girl Kirby. But if it was family tradition. I might try to comprimise it for her middle name. Then make sure she knows the family tradition and names her boy Kirby. Or say how bout the tradition be the first born Boy? They didnt have any girls to curse yet.
