Girls Women Would U Allow A Male Doctor To Physically Examine You. Pls Give Reasons Either Way

Teenage Girls sports physical *Girls only please!! Or doctors... xD*?

I'm almost fifteen, I'm a freshman. I'm running spring track. I guess physicals can vary by your state, but I don't think so. My doctor is in Maryland. This is how my exam went. My doctor weighed me and measured my heart. (I had a male doctor). I basically had a checkup. He felt my stomach, my back, checked my breathing and blood pressure. It was your usual run-through kinda like when you're sick. I didn't have to have a papsmear (that's what an exam down there is called). I guess it depends though. The only reason you'd have to be examined down there was if you had an issue with your periods, any pain or swelling. I had to have x-rays of my knees, hips, and ankles because my joints are awful due to a disorder I have. But trust me, a physical isn't scary. It doesn't matter if you have a male or female. The only thing which may be in your concerns is that you have to strip to your bra and underwear and put on a hospital gown! The doctors are very respectful and understand your concern for your privacy. Don't worry about your physical. What sport are you doing? Oh, and goodluck! :)

Nervous Male Getting a Physical Exam by a Female Doctor?

You will probably have a gown, and there may be a nurse or medical student present.

First and foremost remember your doctor is a professional. Male or female, your doctor had to endure *YEARS* of medical school, working with cadavers, internships and residency in an accredited curriculum before you even had a chance of meeting her.

It's perfectly normal for you to be nervous, but realize you don't have anything she hasn't seen *hundreds* of times before. Doctors are experts of human anatomy, unflattering as it is, you're just a collection of parts and diseases to a doc.

Should you get aroused, odds are pretty good she won't make a big deal out of it. It happens. It's a normal physical response to somebody touching in that area. If it does happen, know that nobody is going to know about it except for you and your doctor. Try not to get embarassed. Worse case scenario she'll leave the room for a minute or two and let things get back to normal before she continues. Much more likely the "downtown" part of the exam will only take a second - not enough time to get or stay aroused, and then she'll be back to looking in your ears and what-not.

My brother had to put a catheter in a man before surgery. My brother is a giant ex-marine looking guy and he was treatng a small middle-aged businessman. The guy kept saying he hopes he doesn't get aroused and my brother kept telling him, "Dude, don't get worked up about it. I'm just doing my job, relax and let me do it. If it happens, it happens."

Hope that helps,
Odd

What is a girl's physical like at the doctor's office? I'm really scared and I'm 17-years-old.

Your doctor will want to check you for health issues.Sexual health may be part of the physical. You have the right to ask for a nurse to be present at all times during your exam. If, for some reason, you do need to remove your clothes (partial or all), you should be given a paper gown to wear. If you aren’t, demand to know why.Shots are only given as part of your vaccination program for things like mumps (which can have serious consequences if you come down with them as an adult). But you wouldn’t normally get them during a checkup. Here’s what happens during my checkup:My doctor takes my blood pressure using a cuff that goes around my upper arm and is inflated until it is tight enough that she can read my blood pressure. For this reason, I often wear a short sleeved top (even in winter) to my doctor’s. She may listen to my lungs with her stethoscope (usually against my back’s bare skin). She’ll ask me to open my mouth and use a wooden tongue depressor to look down my throat. I get weighed and measured the first time I see a new doctor.Blood tests aren’t usually done by the doctor. Instead, she writes down what she wants tested (iron levels, platelet counts, B vitamin levels, blood sugar, lipids, cholesterol levels, etc. - the list gets higher as you get older ;-)). Then either a trained nurse, or a specialist known as a phlebotomist, will draw blood. It’s one needle and they attach little tubes to it. Takes about 5 minutes. I have small veins, so I often ask for a kid’s needle (which is smaller and also less painful). You may also be asked to provide a urine sample to check some kidney health stuff. They give you a little plastic jar and then send you to the bathroom. I find this the most stressful part of the physical, as in, Can I pee? How’s my aim, etc.?If you are getting a gynecological exam, you will be asked to lie down on the examination table and put your feet up in stirrups. The doctor uses a speculum (a tool that slides inside, then opens up a little, so that she can see your cervix and ensure that it is healthy. She may also take a pap smear at this point. The pap smear is sent to a lab where it is checked to make sure that you don’t have cervical cancer pre-cancerous or cancerous cells. If it’s your first time seeing a gynecological specialist, she may also show you how to conduct a breast and lymph node examination to check for suspicious changes. And you’ll typically get a pamphlet to help remind you how to do it.

I want to know about the medical examination done after clearing the SSB interview. What kinds of tests are done?

Brother I will let you know the procedure which I went through for army.First day you have X-ray(of chest PA view), blood sample, urine sample and ultrasound. For ultrasound you will be asked to not have food.Second day is dental day, you have dental checkups a minimum of 14 points is required.Third day you have surgicals, here you are checked for limb deformities whatsoever and it's functionality, along with flat foot, carrying angle or elbow angle, hernia, anal tags etc.Fourth day you have ENT, here ears are checked for wax and hearing test is conducted in a unusually quiet room with headphones on, you will be asked to raise hands after you hear the beep, frequencies of 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000 and 8000Hz are used in one ear first then other one, each frequency is beeped for three time in descending order of volume, your concentration should be there to hear the faintest sound. Then nose is checked for DNS, and throat for any infection.Fifth day you have eye tests, here first test is refractive error test, pressure test, reading, field view, color blindness, squint eye check, retinal burns check. Finally on sixth day you have your medicals, here your height, weight, BP, chest size and expansion are measured. This ends the procedure, if you are a candidate for flying duties you will be scrutinized further, mostly on spinal related tests.

Why does the USA call female circumcision 'female genital mutilation' when male circumcision is widespread in the country?

Why?Because male circumcision is very profitable for the medical and cosmetic industry and female isn't.First, I will state directly that the most extreme form of female cutting, infibulation, is empirically worse. That involves the removal of the labia and external clitoris and sewing up the vagina. There is certainly no comparison between that and western male circumcision- it's obviously worse and CANNOT be compared! What you may not know is that such a procedure accounts for only 10% of female genital cutting worldwide. What is far more prevalent is the removal of the clitoral hood. In its most-practiced form, “Sunat”, a piece of flesh smaller than a grain of rice is removed from the clitoral hood. There is certainly NO comparison between that and western male circumcision- it's obviously FAR LESS EXTREME and CANNOT be compared!Yet EVERY form of female cutting, from the “ritual nick” (which removes no flesh at all) to total infibulation is given the same term- Female Genital Mutilation.Simultaneously, EVERY form of male cutting, from removal of the preputial overhang right up to removal of the foreskin, opening up of the penis along the urethra, splitting the penis and flattening the split organ on a rock, is given the same term- circumcision. You think I'm joking about that? Should girls be allowed to join boy sports?

Before puberty, girls and boys have fairly similar levels of physical ability. Just looking at level of play, children younger than about 7–9 could not be distinguished from one another. At this point in development, there is no real reason to separate the genders in play sports and many leagues (like my nephew’s U-6 soccer league) do have mixed gender teams. As young people hit puberty, however, boys’ and girls’ physical abilities do go in drastically different directions. Increased muscle mass as a consequence of boys’ physical development make the average male athlete stronger and faster than the average female athlete. This is not to say that there are no females that couldn’t keep up with male sports leagues. The most athletic females may be able to play on the same level as males, but those would likely be few and far between. The greater concern about females playing sports with males after physical development is safety. With boys only averaging 10–15 lbs. more than females during the teenage years, there could be a 30–50 lb. difference between two athletes facing off in a game. That difference is added probability to severe injury and mutilation, and is the same reason there are different leagues for age groupings.Safety being the most important consideration, that being said, I do not think that women should be prevented from trying out for male sports leagues, and they should make the team if they play at the same level as the team. There are definitely certain positions on teams where a female player at the height of athleticism could match the ability level of male players. In Florida, back a couple years ago, there was a female high school pitcher who made the news section on ESPN because she had been dominating the male competition throwing a knuckleball. While most pitchers find their success through throwing hard, the knuckleball is a specialist pitch that doesn’t require speed but control. Becoming the expert at a specialized skill like that high schooler is probably the route that the first female to play on the professional level men’s teams will have taken.

Do male doctors get annoyed or offended when a patient requests a female doctor?

It really depends on the situation. If the patient is asking based on religious and cultural beliefs and does so in a respectful manner, then I see no reason why you shouldn't try to accommodate the patient.I think it's only offensive if the patient is prejudiced against a doctor based on his or her gender. It's the same as being prejudiced based on skin color.Male doctors are likely to know just as much about female anatomy and physiology as female doctors, and probably way more than anyone outside their specialty. It goes both ways. Don't assume a female surgeon is any less capable than a male surgeon.Don't assume an African American doctor is any less capable than a white doctor.I’ve rotated thru OB/GYN clinics where patients have often requested to be examined by a female doctor. In some cases, it's because they were victims of abuse and an exam by a male doctor would be traumatic. We absolutely found female doctor they trusted in order to insure a comfortable and safe experience.Other times, patients asked for a female doctor only because they thought the male doctor was incapable. The male doctor happened to be the supervising physician with much greater experience than any of the female physicians. He politely obliged and used it as an opportunity teach the residents he supervised.I did feel bad for another male resident in the clinic who was very kind, intelligent and professional. He was constantly denied the opportunity to help female patients due solely to his gender. His education suffered and the patients missed an opportunity to receive care from an excellent young doctor.Doctors are here to help you regardless of gender. We are trained and capable and can empathize regardless of gender. We try our best not to pre-judge you based on your gender, background, or ethnicity (only as it relates to evidenced based risk factors). Please extend us the same common courtesy.

Why am I not allowed to see my girlfriends body?

Mutual love needs mutual respect and mutual agreement. What is one sided love or one sided desire when both parties are not agreeable? Forget about physical appearance, self control and the beauty of the heart last longer. Physical beauty changes through time, Heart beauty never change if a person have a good heart. Learn to appreciate the beauty from the heart first, if you look at girls as physical objects, you will treat girls as aliens. I think we should treat humans as humans, not physical objects to be honest so that we will take girls and guys as our friends not taking advantage of one another but enjoy being friends mutually regardless of gender segregation, gender discrimination of who is ruling who in gender society. Eventhough some religion allows monogamy or polygamy does not mean that you will get everything free from anyone you like because your gender or religion is more superior than a human being's feelings, you can do criminal activities forcefully above the law of gender human rights. Love is never forceful, should be mutual, treat friends as friends never always look at them for sexual favours. Forceful act, without mutual consent is a criminal activity. Religion does not teach criminalism to be honest. If you like going to nude beaches, you will be naked as the rest naturally and you are not allowed to touch people without mutual consent and commit bad offences like animals, because you have a human brain for self control. Concentrate on your studies and your work first.
