Given P=i Will Love You And Q =you Will Love Me. What Is The Meaning Of The Given Statement ~ P ^

Logic Proof - Translate the following argument into formal Logic and construct a formal proff for the validity

Your argument is valid by form. Based on the hypothetical syllogism, we can just remove I from the proof.

P > Q
Q > R
Therefore P > R

So it comes down to:

If we had an absolute proof of God's existence (P), then we'd have no free will (~F).

If we have free will( F), then we have no absolute proff of God's existence(~P).

The form is then
P > ~F
~~F
therefore ~P

Your argument is valid by form, Hypothetical Syllogism and Modus Tolens to be exact. So it has been proven. However, you must be able to show your assumptions are true. They are not.

My proof?

Your first statement. Let us say Lucifer had proof of God's existence. Let's then say Lucifer rejected God. His will was not irresistibly attracted to do right. You cannot prove that EVERYONE who has proof of God's existence will do right. In formal logic, you must be able to prove your premises true. Yours are not proveable.

If I say - "If I am human, I am not a bird. If I am a bird, then I am not a human.", that would be the same form as your argument. Valid form and true premises, therfore my conclusion is both true and valid.

Yours is valid, but not true. You have a false premise I was able to show by my supposed character of Lucifer who had proof of God's existence, yet chose not to do right.

Conclusion - Valid, but not true.

How would you symbolize the statement "I will love you unless you kiss me"?

Some logic books translate 'unless' as a disjunction, while other logic books translate 'unless' as a conditional. The two forms of translation are logically equivalent.

For the English form ‘P unless Q’, the translations;

P v Q
~Q -> P

are “tied” with respect to truth conditions. The first translation, P v Q, is easier to apply mechanically once this pattern has been simply memorized. But the second, ~Q -> P, better reflects human cognition in understanding the English ‘unless’. For in understanding the English form ‘P unless Q’, ~Q is taken to be an explanatory precondition for P. An explanatory precondition is more easily processed as the antecedent of a conditional.

Symbolization key:
L = I will love you
K = You kiss me

Disjunction ( v = unless/or):
L v K

Conditional ( -> = if/then):
~K -> L

Assume that the given statements are true. What conclusion, if any, can be drawn from these premises?

p --> r

It's a transitive conditional

How do I respond when a guy says "I love you" without saying "I love you too"?

HumorComedy Do it the way chandler does ;) :P

Let A be the set of all statement forms in three variables p, q, and r. Let R be a relation de?

Let V = {T,F} ....(T:true, F:false)
Let V^3 = V×V×V= { (p,q,r) : p,q,r∈V }
= { (T,T,T), (T,T,F), (T,F,T), (T,F,F), (F,T,T), (F,T,F), (F,F,T), (F,F,F) }
(a direct product of V)
We can regard a statement P(p,q,r) as a map from V^3 to V.
P : V^3 →V.

An equivalence relation is defined by the following conditions.
• a ~ a. (Reflexivity)
• if a ~ b then b ~ a. (Symmetry)
• if a ~ b and b ~ c then a ~ c. (Transitivity)

P R Q ⇔ P and Q have the same truth table
⇔ For all (p,q,r)∈V^3 , P(p,q,r) = Q(p,q,r)

For all P,Q,S∈A and (p,q,r)∈V^3,
1) P(p,q,r) = P(p,q,r) ……(reflexivity)
2) P(p,q,r) = Q(p,q,r) ⇒ Q(p,q,r) = P(p,q,r) …….(symmetry)
3) P(p,q,r) = Q(p,q,r) and Q(p,q,r) = S(p,q,r) ⇒ P(p,q,r)= S(p,q,r)
……(transitivity)

Therefore, the relation R is an equivalence relation. □

It’s hard to prove a statement that is obviously true.
Good luck.

What is the best response to "I love you"?

It was around a year I was into this Engg college. Me and a girl were good friends. In due course we came closer. Now there was a prob. She was nice and pretty, and I was single. I wanted a partner . If it didnt click with her then I'll look out for someone else. But provided the whole coll new about our intimate friendship it would be difficult to look out for any other girl .So I decided to propose her. If she accepts....baaam! I have the hottest girl and my best frnd as my Gf. If she didn't, I pre-assumed, she would be hurt and break the friendship, the whole college will then come to know about it and I will be free to date anyone. ;-)SO finally one evening I call her.Me-heyHer- hi..whats upMe-there's something I need to tell youHer- I am listeningMe- **awkward silence**her- Desh! you there?Me- I love youHer- what!!!Me- I love you!Her-**silence*...well ofcourse I love you also..I mean like a frnd ..but..Me- no no no..Not like a friend. I am starting to LOVE you seriously..Her- common desh! don't do this. You will spoil our friendship.Me- so the answer is NO?HEr- change the topic, will you?Me- give me the answer! Her- ofcourse noMe- (relieved) gr8!!Her- now can we talk of something else!Me-**silence** wait! Her- what now?Me- look, now that you have said me no, DONOT say me yes or propose me or come back to me in future saying I love you now..ok?Her- (taken aback) what the hell..what do you even mean by this??Me- you exactly know madam what I mean. Now tell me is that okay?Her- hey you cant talk to me like thatMe- is that okay or not?Her- Desh!!!Me- just answer my questionHer-(shouts!!) Nooo not okayMe- (smiling) why baby what is the prob now! (I add mockingly)Her- aaargh! okay I need some time to think about it.Me- ( after a while!) fine, We have a train to catch at 9 right? I need your answer before midnight. ....It was a winter evening, we and our friends were in a train to Rourkela (a city in Odisha). I was sitting and she was resting her head on my lap( yess! on my lap!!). None of my friends had gone to sleep. All were eagerly waiting for me to give some signal. At around midnight she pulls me down, puts her lips near mine and whispers....Plz don't break my heart. I am giving it to you. Kiss.The lights were switched on and the party continues till morning.

Does every ‘I love you’ deserve an ‘I love you too?’

I don't know about a "I Love you too", but it definitely deserves a hug (maybe from the side, and a rub on the arm).Every kiss deserves a smile back.Every night doesn't need be spent with your lover, else you'd there would be no longing to meet, and the charm/spark would be gone too early. ( A thing of easy access loses its value early).
