God Almighty Here I

How is the functional title “God” defined? And what does it mean to be “Almighty God”?

The word “El” in Hebrew means “mighty one” so it can be applied to anyone powerful or anything to which one attributes might greater than his own and venerates it. A person can even let his belly be a god. (Ro 16:18; Php 3:18, 19). Jesus pointed out to the Jews that the scriptures even referred to some of them as gods.At Psalms 8:5 God’s angels are called “godlike ones” when Paul quotes that verse at Hebrew 2:6–8 he uses the word angels confirming it is the angels who are addressed as godlike. At John 1:1 Jesus (the word) is referred to as “a god” in his prehuman existance in the same sense as the other angels are called godlike. Because they are all of the angels powerful spirits, not equal in power, but like god. When the Bible is talking about the one true God the text includes an identifier like almighty, or true, or a definite article “the”, as in “the God” and not just a god.1 Corinthians 8:5–6 KJ — For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him.

If God is truly almighty, can he create a rock so big that he himself cannot lift it?

The answer is No, God can’t create a rock so big that he can’t lift it, simply because the parameters of the original question I answered assumed he was almighty, therefore the logical equation of that question asserts that he is limitless, as we logically default to Anselm’s definition of God, that if you can Contemplate God as such, he therefore must exist. So since God exists in eternity, and can create infinite space, and has limitless power, the size of the rock would have to be ever expanding, and stretching to infinity, so at no point would a rock be big enough. So the question is technically mute, however, lets say that the universe was filled with Rock completely, with no space for anything else in the entire universe (As one gent on here has stated) that doesn’t leave any hand holds for him to lift it up, however that assumes God has limited corporeal existence, with fixed hands and or legs to lift it as a man would. However, the problem with that restriction of God is defined by the parameters of this question / equation which logically gives God infinite power, and scope, as well as IQ, therefore anything he could possibly come up with that would defeat him, he would immediately have a plan to compensate for it, so in the case of the Super massive Rock filled universe, he would immediately, know that he could life the super massive Rock universe, which then means the rock as well, also he would know before attempting to lift the rock universe that he could place that universe within a weightless super universe and lift that as well, so the question first needs to place limitations of God, in order for him to be imperfect and not all powerful to the point where he can create a rock so big he can’t lift it, However without limitations the answer is No. All powerful, implies eternal and infinite, and precludes limitation, and therefore No, God cannot create a rock so big he can’t lift it.

The movie Bruce Almighty questions?

i have a feeling this is a homework question.

god was obviously represented by Morgan Freeman

but to get a more abstract view, check out the scene when he's dealing with peoples prayers, first he tried files, the post-its, then he settles on computer. and even though he types faster than anyone alive, the prayers never stop. so he just says yes to everyone and it thoughs the city into chaos.

there is a moment in the movie when God mentions an old lady losing her house. Bruce makes it so she wins a lawsuit and lives happily. God then points out that she was suppose to lose her house so she will make amends with her sister and neither die alone.

the movie is mainly about money doesnt buy happiness but the religious tone is that God has a plan for everyone and even though we will never comprehend it, it is all for a greater good.

(Philosophy time: if god has a plan for everyone and knows everything, do we really have freewill. god knows that we will either do good with out lives or be evil. we are predetermined to go to heaven or hell so does it really even matter. I like to think of god as setting up dominoes very precisely and watching the fall in order, only interviening when neccessary)

Who is the ultimate God, Almighty, ruler of all, or supreme being, as proposed by the Vedas?

Sri Krsna is the ultimate God, Almighty, Ruler of all, and the Supreme Being as proposed by the vedas. There are a few people who keep talking about how He isn’t mentioned in the vedas, but the personal experience of actual, God-realized saints, mahapurushas and acharyas speaks something else completely. Only when you come in contact with their pure character, their childlike simplicity, their unconditional love for all, and the states of trance they enjoy, do you begin to realize that there is no higher truth than Sri Krsna.Bhagavan. The Supreme Loving Person, Who has all the energies of God manifest in His Person. Sri Krsna = Sri Rama.Paramatma. The Supreme Majestic Emperor, Who has less energies and powers manifest in His Person. Sri Vishnu = Lord Shiva = Devi = Sri Ganapati.Brahm. The formless aspect of God. No energy, except that which is required for Self-preservation is manifest in this aspect of God. Due to this, the Bliss of Brahm does not increase with the passage of time, even though it, also, is infinite in quantity. Thus, there is only One God. Sri Krsna. He has multiplied Himself into countless divine incarnations, and eternal Forms, for the sake of the suffering souls, and to provide Bliss to those who are liberated.
