Has anyone used gofobo advanced movie screening pass?

I have 2 advanced screening passes to use tonight in Indianapolis and I was wanting to know if anyone has had any luck getting into these screenings before. I have heard that they will make you wait in line for awhile then tell everyone to go home.

How do I get tickets for advanced movie screenings?

The websites Advance Movie Screenings and Gofobo list advance movie screenings.

How early should you arrive to an advance screening of a movie?

I won free tickets to an advance screening of a movie next week. The showtime is 8:00pm. On the tickets it says that the theater was overbooked to ensure a full house. So, since there will probably be more people there than there are seats, how early should I arrive at the screening so that I can get a seat?

An hour?
Two hours?

How can I get a press pass for a movie screening?

How can I get a press pass for an advanced movie screening? I've been going to screenings for a couple months now, but I always have to get there at least an hour early if I want to get a good seat -- and I've noticed that there are a bunch of seats reserved for members of the press. How can I get a press pass? I've been writing movie reviews online for quite some time, including on Facebook and on Examiner.com, but I can't figure out how to get a press pass. Thanks!! (I'm in Boston, by the way)

How do I get one of those reserved seats to a normal advance movie screening, possibly from Gofobo?

They usually only give those seats to members of the reviewing press or workers from the sponsors of the movie. Some times you can get that special seating if you get your tickets from a certain place (i.e. Wb Rewards or Disney Rewards) or sometimes on the ticket it will have a contest to get special VIP seating (like when I saw Vampire Sucks, if you dressed up as a vampire you got to sit in those seats.) But the only advice I can really give you is to arrive early to get a good seat. Hope I helped!

If I live near L.A., what's the best way to get tickets to an advanced screening of "Man of Steel?

There are a few ways to try and see an advance screening. If you work in film or write about film, you can reach out to the studios and simply ask to attend a screening. Or if you know somebody who is attending a screening, ask if you can be their "plus one."But assuming you aren't in that position (since you'd likely have already pursued those avenues if you were), there frankly aren't many options that qualify as "best ways" to see an advance screening of a film like this. Here are a few tips...Sign up for sites like MovieTickets.com and Gofobo.com etc, which will send you constant offers to attend screenings of films in your area, and hope you get chosen for a public invite to an advance screening. Your odds are low on this, but it can and does happen sometimes.Listen for radio, TV, and online opportunities to win free tickets to advance screenings. There are going to be some of these things going on, and you simply have to search around and look for them as best you can.Post something online asking anybody attending an advance screening to contact you, because you'd like to attend and will exchange a favor for the opportunity (if you're a cook, for example, offer to trade a wonderful meal, just don't offer money).UPDATE!  On May 18th, special tickets will go on sale at Wal-Mart, for an advance screening of Man of Steel in Burbank, California. The screening is on June 13th, prior to the film's nationwide release. So go to Wal-Mart on May 18th at 8am and grab tickets if you can -- you will have a choice between 2D and 3D screenings.Good luck!

How are there Interstellar movie reviews out already? How are people watching it before November 5th?

You should add example links to these reviews so we can judge how they might have gotten early access. Are they press? Are they just people that attended an exclusive preview screening? We can't tell without some specific examples. In short, some rare major cities get advanced screenings about a week before the actual release for big movies like this. Specifically so they will spread the word about how awesome the movie is. They are released in marketing partnerships, through local film organizations, or directly by the studio. So it is hard to tell you how to get into every possible screening. But in general there are movie groups in these major cities that you could sign up for online. I don't think these are the best specific resources, but I don't know where you live (and different people reading this probably live in different places) so I am going with broad suggestions.Advance Movie Screenings is a website that tries to hook people up.And I have had friends that make use of Screenings | Gofobo. There are more besides these two. Do some web searching to find one that works for you.(Locally, SIFF - Seattle International Film Festival, has a great hookup in the Seattle area. That's how I get about 4-6 advance screenings a year.)Be aware that film press all get special press screenings as early morning runs in their city. This allows your local paper to already have a review written prior to the release of the movie. Depending on the movie, some blog movie reviewers may be invited too, if they have made a name for themselves and have reached out to form connections with studio marketing departments. There are a few other sorts of screenings. Grand premieres of movies normally happen in NYC, London, or Hollywood. This screening has the stars of the movie, director, etc. and are a very exclusive engagement. I don't imagine you can get into one of those. Interstellar had theirs on Saturday in Hollywood: Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway stun in revealing gowns at premiereAnd there are test screenings (again, mostly in Hollywood). Normally those audiences are seeing an unfinished movie and are not allowed to talk about it. I only mention this for completeness.
