Shoplifting court questions from judge...?
Hi, a friend of mine recently got caught shoplifting. she is a very smart and overall good person, just made a stupid mistake. she is very nervous for an upcoming court date and wants to be prepared for whatever the judge says or asks her. so i'm asking: do you know ANY possible questions the judge may ask regarding a shoplifting case? any feedback would be great, and thank you. :)

They will probably end the conversation by suggesting that you explain all of it to the judge.Do remember if you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you, and more likely than not, he will know which prosecutor to approach. He can also help you prepare a defense, if your condition somehow clouded your judgment, or even more likely, how to mitigate your punishment if your situation contributed to your wrongdoing.But this is a simple misdemeanor. I expect if it is your first offense, no matter what you do or say, if convicted, the sentence will be the same…a fine. And in many states, you will then be hounded by the store to pay a punitive fee granted to them by the State Legislature. A bit greedy of them, but I guess that is what is making America Great Again.
Was caught shoplifting..?
I was caught shopplifting at Jcpenney with two other friends. We're all adults and under michigan law had to pay the maximum of 200 dollars for the merchandise and have to go to court. I am curious as to how much the court fees will be? And is there any way to get out of this? I realize I was being stupid and deeply regret doing it, is there anyway this won't go on my permanent record?
Michigan juvenile shoplifting?
I'm 15 and I live in michigan and I recently got caught stealing a necklace and some earings, which was only 22 dollars worth (stupid, i know.) This is the first time I've ever done something like this and i have no previous record, I know i have to pay the store back but I'm just curious as to what's likely going to happen to me legally. Has anybody ever experienced something similar to this or has knowledge with this type of situation?
How should i write a letter to a judge for shoplifting?
I got caught shoplifting and my lawyer said i should write a letter to the judge but i'm not exactly sure what to write to him/her and how i should start it since i dont know his/her name or anything...please help

Wal Mary can legally charge you a fine for shoplifting, so yes, you should have to pay it. If you do not pay the fine, the police might be notified or it will be sent to corrections which will hurt you in the long run. I would suggest contacting the store directly and checking what your options are. If you ignore it then worst case scenario, Wal Mart will press charges and you'll end up paying more then $200 and it will be on your record. My suggestion: pay it as soon as possible, and if you cannot afford the $200, contact Walmart directly and see what you can do.

It is theft so we can also come knocking tomorrow, next week, next month or next year.Is it really worth shoplifting knowing that any knock on the door, a tap on the shoulder or hearing a siren may mean your liberty being taken, going to court and having criminal convictions (if you don’t have one already).

last night i was caught shoplifting at Kohl's...it was $15 jewelery..i regret what i have done..this is my first offense...( did for my kid actually stupid mistake) my question is The LP guy took me inside and took mug shots and warned me not to shop at Kohl's eve again....he took my drivers llicensefor id....he also made me sign a paper which stated that i would nneverrreturnto kKohl'sand that i might expect something in the mail...i am scared to death what eexactlyam i going to rreceivei am 24 married i dont want my husband to find out...pls help..i asked the LP guy whether i will be fined he said i will be may be $250....i am worried if i will have to go to court becoz for that i will have to tell my hubby about the whole incident.pls help...
