What are some good foreign films released in 2014?

Foreign to whom? For me, English is a foreign language. With very foreign pronounciation. And totally unrelated spelling.I take it you mean movies where English isn't the predominant spoken language, since this question is tagged with World and Non-U.S. Cinema. But beware! This will exclude brilliant films from e.g. the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Please also have a look at What are the best non-US, English-spoken films of 2014? once you're done with the "foreign-language" ones.My subjective top 10 non-English-spoken movies of 2014:from Argentina: Wild Tales (2014) [in Spanish: "Relatos salvajes"], very dark comedy anthology about vengeance[1] from Belgium: Two Days, One Night (2014) [in French: "Deux jours, une nuit"], another drama by the Dardenne brothers, starring Marion Cotillardfrom France: Breathe (2014) [in French "Respire"], drama about a destructive friendship between two 17-year old girls[2] from Germany: Stations of the Cross (2014) [in German: "Kreuzweg"], fascinating drama about Catholic fundamentalism[3] from India: Haider (2014) [in Hindi], dramatic modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamletfrom Pakistan: O21 (2014) [in Urdu], spy action thriller as the anti-Homelandfrom Russia: Leviathan (2014) [in Russian: "Левиафан" a.k.a. "Leviafan"], allegoric drama about love, fate and powerfrom Sweden: Force Majeure (2014) [in Swedish: "Turist"], family drama about aftermath of an avalanche[4] from Turkey: Winter Sleep (2014) [in Turkish: "Kış Uykusu" a.k.a. "Kis Uykusu"], slow, talkative drama about life in Anatoliafrom Ukraine: The Guide (2014) [in Ukrainian: "Поводир" a.k.a. "Porodir" or "Porodyr"], historic drama about Soviet Ukraine in the 1930sI've limited myself to one film per country, not per language. I feel this is unfair to India, so I'll mention a runner-up:also from India: 1 (2014) [in Telugu: "Nenokkadine"], psychological thriller about family revengeFootnotes[1] Lorenzo Peroni's answer to What are some movies similar to Wild Tales (2014 movie)?[2] Lorenzo Peroni's answer to What is the best French movie made in 2014?[3] Lorenzo Peroni's answer to What were the best movies of 2014? How gory is A Serbian Film?

My friend was telling me about it, without going into to much detail he said something about child rape and baby rape????? Is he full of sh!t or is it really that bad? Does this movie cross the line?

How scary/gory is Evil Dead?

Well, yeah, it's gory I'm not lying to you. It's scary, bloody and with a lot of gory chopping of body parts. So...? It's up to you.
The first part is okay, but when the blood starts to run it wont stop until the very end.
Try watching the original The Evil Dead with Bruce Campbell. If you can watch that, then you can go watch the new one. If not, then take your MP3 to the theatre and listen to some soft romantic tunes and watch the ceiling because you wont handle it, sorry!

Hope it helps! ;)

Why is it that Palestinian films appear as 'Israeli' films on Google? I watched this good film "Omar" (2014), and it's made in Palestine. The director, actor, and actress are Palestinian too, but it says they're all from 'Nazareth, Israel'. Why?

Nazareth is not administered by the Palestinian Authority, it’s been part of the State of Israel since the state has existed. The film was shot mostly in Nazareth and partly in Nablus, which is on the West Bank. (Source: הבמאי הפלסטיני האני אבו־אסעד מטפס מעל חומת ההפרדה ) I believe the film is commonly considered Palestinian; Wikipedia in Hebrew calls it Palestinian, as do the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and the Israeli film website Seret. It’s described as “A Zbros production, in association with Dubai Entertainment and Media Organization” (Film Review: ‘Omar’). Zbros is “a newly formed Palestinian-American production company” (Match Factory strikes Omar deal)— newly formed as of 2013, that is.

I'm planning a horror film marathon. What films do you recommend I watch?

Horror or similar genre movies i recommend are:1. Black Death (2010) - not truly a horror, but an dark-pale and medieval movie with a little horror vibe.2. The Exorcist (1973) - same as Alien6. The Orphanage (2007) [El Orfanato] - beautiful horror movie, sounds like oxymoron :)7. The Omen (1976)8.
