How can I take a good picture of Christmas lights?

Hi,It seems most of the technical aspects are already covered in other answers.So, I would like to summarize some simple points, because it would be easy to understand for non professionals also.Use Tripod…Using a tripod always helps, when you deal with light (natural or artificial ) . That would increase the sharpness of image and avoid the hand movements. Use of timer is recommended.2. Use Manual mode with ISO around 200. Shutter speed and aperture may vary. But if you are taking light images in dark background then, Shutter speed and aperture should be some where around1/100 and F 1.5 respectively. * the above image is taken by me only.3. Keep the white balance setting on Auto to avoid extra setting. But, if you want to do the experiment, you can try custom or cloudy.4. Avoid AUTO mode, as it will help you to capture the image but in most cases.. not the desired on.I used the same methods to capture the photos in this year’s Christmas market in Munich. It worked really nice. :)

If you look at the TOS from pretty much any photo sharing site - including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, etc., you'll find pretty much exactly the same text.What this sort of TOS is saying, is that by the act of putting the photos there, you're allowing them to publish them forever, and you can't go back later and demand compensation.  This is to protect them from, for example, you posting a photo, then deleting it, then suing them because it's still accessible, whether by someone else re-sharing it, or it being cached in a search engine, or because someone printed it to keep a copy, or another person downloaded it and used it for commercial purposes, or any other way you might possibly come back after them for money.You don't want to deal with this TOS, buy a basic frame where you just put the pictures on an SD card and plug it in.  You want something that will display photos from your Facebook, Instagram, etc., then these terms go with the territory.
