Good Morning Yahoo People Some Friends And I Are Searching For A Nice Weekend Getaway Located Only

My husband and I are looking for a nice weekend getaway?

I don't know if you could spend a whole weekend in either of these places, but from central Oklahoma, there are a couple of places I've found interesting.

North of OKC is Guthrie, OK. It is a town that time has forgotten. We stayed in a hotel on one of the few streets there that was restored in turn-of-the-century (early 1900s) period furniture. When I awoke that morning and looked out our window, I felt like I was in another time! But we had to go into OKC for a movie and dinner. It was not that developed. But that is what made it quaint.

I also remember stumbling across Quartz Mountain state park outside of a little town in SW Oklahoma. It had a very nice state park run restaurant that overlooked the lake. The service and food were excellent. I seem to recall you can stay there. Check with the state parks department. But the granite rocks rising out of the flat plains there were bizarre looking. If you like boating and fishing, I think that is available there, too. But it is pretty remote.

I would look into those thoroughly or just go there on day trips and decide if you want to book a weekend sometime.

How good is Ahmedabad in accepting people from other states?

Ok let’s see.I am from the north east part of India and have been living in Ahmedabad for almost two years. Following is the description of how I’ve been accepted in the city till now:By shopkeepers: Nearly all of the shopkeepers or cart owners who communicated with me were decent, and sparing one or two odd events, they were always polite and honest. Some were curious and did ask me where I was from and that’s it.By auto drivers: My first experience with an Ahmedabadi auto driver was horrible. I can now understand it as auto-drivers at railway stations all over India are expert con artists. After adjusting to the city, I found most of the auto drivers were honest. However a significant number of encounters had racist overtones.Employers: I was working in a multi-cultural organization, so there wasn’t much problem here. Although I was the only one from north east but it was never an issue.Friends and acquaintances: I’ve had many local friends here and all were really good people.Potential employers: Although most of the places where I applied found my qualification and skills quite to their expectations, there was always some concerns regarding my being a non-local. There were concerns regarding how long will I stay with the organization, taking frequent and long leaves as my native place is quite far, my language and accent etc.Teachers: I’ve taken classical singing lessons as well as guitar lessons in Ahmedabad. The teachers were always curious about my state and there was always discussions on culture and music of Manipur. Other than that they were particularly encouraging and nice to me.Students: As a means to sustain myself for my present unemployed phase in the state, I am giving personal tuition to a class 6 student. He and his family are really nice to me and I haven’t felt anything awkward or any concern on me being from other state.Strangers: I have hardly been uncomfortable around strangers and most people readily help or ask for help despite it being obvious that I am a non-local. There do exist some people whose life goal includes making other’s lives miserable but I’ve met significantly less number of such people.

Where can I find the poem Only The Good Die Young?

Only The Good Die Young Lyrics

Come out Virginia, don't let me wait
You Catholic girls start much too late
aw But sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one

well, They showed you a statue, told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
But they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done.....
Only the good die young
thats what i said
only the good die young x2

You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain't too pretty we ain't too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
aw But that never hurt no one

So come on Virginia show me a sign
Send up a signal I'll throw you the line
The stained-glass curtain you're hiding behind
Never lets in the sun
Darlin' only the good die young
(woah x5 )
i tell ya
only the good die young x2

You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation
You got a brand new soul
mmmm, And a cross of gold
But Virginia they didn't give you quite enough information
You didn't count on me
When you were counting on your rosary
(oh woah woah)

They say there's a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it's better but I say it ain't
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
the Sinners are much more fun...

you know that only the good die young
oh woah baby
i tell ya
only the good die young, X2

You say your mother told you all that I could give you was a reputation
Aww She never cared for me
But did she ever say a prayer for me? oh woah woah

Come out come out come out virgina dont let me wait,
You catholic girls start much too late
Sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one,
You know that only the good die young

I'm telling you baby
You know that only the good die young
Only the good die young
Only the gooooooooooooooood
Only the good die young
Only the gooooooooooooooood
Only the good die young
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooo oooooooooo...

(Only the good die young)x2

Looking for an All Inclusive Resort Deal for Puerto Rico Spring Break?

My first question would be, if you are your 'friend' are the only ones going, then WHY would you go to an all inclusive unless you are so poorly traveled that you don't realize ALL INCLUSIVE is travel agent code for "Resorts catering to big families on small budgets" and for two YOUNG and unattached people, why would you want to go on a holiday and be dodging out of control brats running all over and baby carriages and prams being pushed by kamikaze mums trying to run everyone down?

My SECOND question would be.. Do you not realize most resorts in the Caribbean do NOT like spring breakers and many resorts won't even consider taking them

My THIRD question would be, is one or both of you over 21 (25 for some resorts) and have a MAJOR CREDIT CARD.. not a DEBIT card but a MAJOR CREDIT CARD?

My FOURTH question would be.. how in the hell do you plan to get a CHEAP resort during the Peak tourist season?

What "good deed" should I do this holiday season?

Good for you!!

When serving others, I always find it most satisfying to roll up my sleeves and do something (not just write a check). Especially since I'm a mouse pilot, myself.

Here are some things I have done:
Find an organization that helps underprivileged/elderly people winterize their houses and do general fix-up. You can work a few hours, a day, a weekend, ...
Go work a soup kitchen or homeless shelter for several days. Connect with an outfit that distributes blankets and food to the homeless.
My wife and I volunteer every year at a giftwrap booth that raises money for the local crisis hotline. It's cushy, indoor work but it's a lot of fun and it's for a good cause.

I know there are lots of volunteer outfits that distribute food boxes and hot meals to the elderly and homebound. I'd bet their workload goes way up this time of year.

Consider making a committment to help build a Habitat for Humanity house. My wife's done that; she really enjoyed it.

...and check your newspaper in the community pages. Ours has a listing of volunteer opportunities.

Good luck, and well done.
