Good Online Tutorials For Guitar Beginners

Which is the best way to learn guitar online as a beginner?

Learning guitar is easy if you learn it the right way. Being a tutor I would suggest that you take your basic lessons, until chords from a tutor and later you can switch to online lessons.Sadly, there are many other students who find it hard to afford classes. So I created this YouTube channel playlist where people can learn guitar from scratch. The syllabus is organized with practice lessons and theory as well. This is exactly the same as what I teach to my students. At the end of the playlist you should be able toGet the chords for any random songCreate your own songListen to a solo and playCreate your own solos as well. There are many other interesting stuff waiting for you. What is the best online guitar course?

Justinguitar.com is the most reliable, well-documented beginner friendly site on the internet. Everyone else will try to make you suffer by demanding money or special favors for their site. Justin won’t. If you want to raise your level to THE ntermediate or expert, He has free courses for you too.He has Free different sections for:Blues,Funk Guitar,Folk ,Rock and Metal,Jazz ,Songwriting,Transcribing,Arpeggios and So on…No, He hasn’t paid me anything. I’m writing this because everyone has a different kind of learning pattern. When I decided to learn guitar, I came to Quora to know reliable online courses, but couldn’t find any. Then I found Justin and started learning. But, deep in my mind I was having this confusion if I was missing out something that a teacher could teach me practically. I went to a teacher and he taught me only four chords over a period of 2 months and I was so annoyed I had to stop attending his class and resumed learning on Justin Guitar!!And within five weeks, I was writing my own song. I know it’s not like “Wonderwall”, but seems good to me. HahaI’m writing this so that you don’t have to rediscover the wheel. If teaching guitar online was a religion, this guy would be the Jesus of it. Happy playing.

What are some good free online guitar lessons?

Hello there,

There are a lot of good instructional materials available on-line. Here is some that I like.

Video lessons. This guy has a series of 12 lessons all there at Youtube now. (you used to have to sign up at his web site and he sent them to you. Not any more. They are on Youtube). He covers the basics very well. Targeted at beginners

Tabs. Tabs is a short hand method of writing guitar music. It is widely used. It is easy to learn. You need to learn it.

Chord chart. Back when I started, I had to buy a chord book to see a list of all the chords. Now you can get that for free on-line. Here is a chord chart in a PDF file. Down load it to your computer. It is a handy way to check the fingering for any chord.

Do work in some songs into your practice. It is more fun. But also, by trying to play some songs you realize why you have to learn all that other stuff. You see how all the techniques you studied are applied in playing a song. To do that, do a Google search using the song name and the word tabs. That will give you a list of the sites that have the tabs for that song. Go print off the tabs. Then go to Youtube and do a search there. Search using the song name and the word lesson or the words how to play. There are a lot of good video lessons on Youtube.

Guitar tips. Here is some tips from Joe Satriani

There are a lot of good video by Joe Satriani on Youtube. He is a great teacher because he can explain things so well. As you advance, check out some of those videos on Youtube.

What are some good online lead guitar courses?

I like TrueFire, but it is not free. When they have discounts on, you could manage a 1 year subscription for 100 USD.It is quite cheap compared to taking lessons, at least where I live. And the range of instructors and topics is quite good. I will not claim that all the courses are top notch, but if you have the patience to check many, you should find something which fits your musical and learning needs. As for free courses, there is a Coursera one, which is good and from a famous school, but possibly covers at least some things you presumably already learned, so perhaps too basic, dependently on your level. Check the syllabus to get an idea:Introduction to Guitar - Berklee | CourseraI can also recommend this one. It is not specifically about guitar, but that is a good thing. Because guitar is arguably the most popular instrument on earth, there is a tendency with would-be guitar players to learn just guitar, rather than music. And plenty of guitar methods encourage just that. You learn techniques, but not musicianship. About internalizing music, rhythms, intervals. Which is quite essential to play well. Lots of people only realize that after years of playing, and years of frustration, sometimes. So check it out:Developing Your Musicianship - Berklee | Coursera

What are good online resources for learning guitar, apart from YouTube, from basic to advance level?

I think Youtube is actually your best bet because there are so many online teachers that you are bound to find someone who plays your style and teaches your level. A lot if not most have links where they give away pdfs with tablature or instructions to go with the lesson. They all want you to sign up for their online course naturally but you’ll find that there is so much free information out there that you can be flooded with it. You get more than enough.I am assuming you are very much at the beginner level but I would suggest you look at Steve Stine who covers mainly electric but does have acoustical tutorials and covers mainly intermediate but also post beginner phase. It might stretch you but you’d be surprised. He can put you on to the Guitar Player website link which has a wealth of resources online. Here is a link to a beginner’s Guitar website. Has scales, some online learning apps like a Fretboard game that teaches you the notes on the fretboard, chord charts. A good site to get you started. The 6 Most Common Guitar Scales Also check out the Guitar Zoom website as they have a lot of material. Look at some of the online guitar groups on facebook and you’ll find a lot of kindred souls who can give you some tips on where to find exactly what it is that you need. Look at That Pedal Show on Youtube, Samurai Guitarist, Music is Win. Maybe too advanced for you but you’ll learn a lot about more than just guitar.Good luck and stick with it. It is a very personally rewarding hobby.

Best website to learn guitar online?

So I really want to learn guitar.
I just bought a guitar online (a cheap one, I'm low on money!)
I have been looking at a bunch of YouTube videos and have bookmarked a few but I'm still going to need more.
What online programs (even if they cost money, preferably LESS than $30) would you suggest?
Also, it's an electric guitar. So websites specifically geared to that will be appreciated.
I am well aware I won't learn guitar over-night. In fact, I may never stop learning new things but I am looking for something just to get me started.
I have ZERO knowledge.
