Hello!! Im thinking of buying a chromebook(Acer c720). Are chromebooks good? Could you please tell me if they are good or bad. If you want to, i would like you to list pros and cons but thats optional! Thanks in advance! Sorry if i am sounding demanding.

No, you cannot run games such as Sims 3 on a Chromebook. These games are Windows based. A Chromebook does not have Windows it has the Google Chrome OS. It can only run things that will run inside the Chrome browser or on Google's servers. The Chromebook laptop does not have the OS on the laptop itself, but instead is on Google's servers. You must have an internet connection in order to use it. It is quite limited and that is why it has such a cheap price. It is fine if all you want to do is surf the web, read and send e-mail, and watch video from the web, for all other functions you still need a laptop or desktop computer that is either Windows based or Mac based. If you want to play Sims and other games but not have to spend a lot, you would need a Windows based laptop that has either an AMD A-8 or A-10 processor in it. you could get by with minecraft and starwars the old republic but not with starcraft 2 it on any setting is laggy unless its a expensive computer btw so you know depending on the computer for example starcraft cause i like it best for my computer its advace so when you run it on lowest setting it slows it down cause its to low and if you run it on meduim it runs the fastest if you get that it means lowest isn;t always the best depending on computer so get to know you computer

There is no Chromebook yet that can run AAA games. Most are written for Windows or game consoles, and ChromeOS cannot run those.Aside from that, there are a number of browser based games that would run well on a Chromebook. Likewise there are a few streaming game sites that purport to work but I haven’t tried them.There are many Android games that run extremely well on a Chromebook. Casual gaming works well, and there are an increasing number of ports from Windows that run well. Most seem to be older games like Neverwinter Nights (10+ years old), but they run well.So given those limitations, understand that Chromebooks are laptops using integrated graphics. The better the integrated graphics, the better the gaming. So most Chromebooks use Intel cpus, and the better the cpu, the better the graphics chip. Remember that integrated graphics use system memory, so look for a device with 8GB of system memory or more.I recently read that a Chromebook is under development that uses a AMD cpu and integrated graphics. HP released one in January, but more are coming. AMD graphics are generally better than Intel’s at the same price point and the cpu power is close. In the future one of those may be the best solution for a gamer.I don’t play many games on my HP Chromebook X2, but I did install Neverwinter Nights for nostalgia sake. It ran very smoothly and works well with the touch screen. With only 4GB of RAM and 32 GB storage, the X2 is limited for gaming. Is the Acer C7 Chromebook a good gaming laptop?
In addition to what Pearls Before Swine said, it's slightly more powerful than a netbook. It is not a machine designed to handle games. You probably wouldn't even be able to play Warcraft 3 on it, and it's 10 years old.

Chromebooks aren't really intended for any sort of heavy duty tasks, like playing games. They don't come with CD drives, and don't even run Windows so most games won't even work on them at all. If the game can be played in a browser, it MIGHT work...but again the Chromebook is designed to be a cheap web browser, so it's not going to have a powerful graphics chip. An entry level gaming PC is going to need its own separate graphics card - not one that uses you computer's RAM for its video memory. These generally start around $500-600 if you build a desktop yourself. Laptops with separate graphic chips and memory generally start at around $700-800.
